Established in 2016, this family owned-and-operated restaurant in Stoneham offers plenty of tasty and innovative coffee, breakfast, brunch, and lunch options served by very friendly, energetic staff in a casual, open ambiance. The breakfast menu includes plenty of options with filling portions of breakfast staples including eggs, benedicts, omelettes, pancakes, french toast, waffles, or breakfast sandwiches. The menu also offers several sandwiches -- including grilled chicken, boneless fried chicken, chicken salad, steak and cheese -- which are available all day for those heathens who don't crave breakfast foods at every opportunity. I had the Javah Grindah sandwich ($8), comprised of two eggs (over medium at my request), breakfast meat (ham, bacon, or sausage), and a side of James River BBQ sauce on a fresh grinder roll. Unfortunately.. although the description on the menu doesn't mention cheese, my sandwich came out with two slices of white American cheese. I hate having to ask a restaurant to do this, but I had to send it back because lactose. Our server apologized for the misunderstanding and brought a replacement sandwich without cheese out straight away. The sandwich was really tasty with the BBQ sauce. My dining companion preferred something lighter and opted for the Skinny Girl Pick ($12), comprised of two eggs, fresh avocado, fresh fruit, and a few slices of wheat toast, which she really enjoyed. We will definitely be back next time we're in the area! I was headed to Stoneham so I checked Yelp for a good breakfast place. I was lead to the Java Grind & Grill. The reviews did not mislead. I trust YELP like I trust my Grandfather, I get the real deal!! The place was clean and chill, kind of a cool vibe for a breakfast place, I would go there for lunch if I lived closer. In fact, I saw a few single patrons come in for breakfast, one had a book while enjoying coffee and bagel, another man was listening to music via IPODS and looking through a magazine while he ate a big breakfast. Pretty cool place. The staff were very engaging and friendly, I got the feeling that they were owners or vested in the business somehow. They genuinely seemed like they cared and wanted to make sure that things tasted good. Both the server and the cook came and checked on us, I felt like a V.I.P. The coffee, the coffee! It was really good, I mean really good. I am not a big coffee critic like some bozo's, but it was really good!!! The food was awesome, B.L.T. Really wanted to like this local spot that had high ratings, while service was quick and friendly the overall experience was average. It is a small diner serving your everyday classics. Walked in on a Saturday and there was plenty of seating available. Ordered the green monstah with eggs and a side of pancakes. For 17 bucks the green monstah felt overpriced for what was a veggie scramble with 3 pieces of avocado. The pancakes had a strong aftertaste of baking soda, so was not able to finish it. Service was really great and was the best part of the whole experience. Might be a good option for grab and go or if you are looking for basic diner fare. read more

My family and I were spending our last day in Boston and were staying in nearby Woburn. Since our hotel did not offer complimentary breakfast, we decided to try Java Grind and Grill after reading up on Yelp. As soon as I walked in, the cafe felt very cozy with all the fall decor. There is a decent amount of seating and I was surprised by how busy it was for a Wednesday morning. I could tell that this was a local spot since many regulars stopped in during our meal. The owner was extremely friendly and sweet to us out-of-towners. There were a lot of menu options and tons of iced coffee flavors listed on the chalkboard. I ordered scrambled eggs with pancakes. I initially ordered plain pancakes but was asked if I wanted pumpkin pancakes since they were in season. I agreed and was very happy with my decision. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious - the perfect fall breakfast meal. They came with small sides of whipped cream, syrup, and a cinnamon sugar type of glaze. They have great coffee with a lot of flavor options - best part in my opinion regarding the flavored coffee, is that the flavor is in the beans not added as a syrup. Other syrup-based coffees tend to give me heartburn, but not theirs!! I have eaten in a few times but usually will get takeout. The menu is good, simple - little bit of everything and they usually have specials/additions written on the chalkboard wall. All of the non-bakery options are made to order. Ingredients are fresh and good quality. Service has always been great. Quick and efficient. Smaller inside but there are a few seating options if you do choose to eat in. Also, you can order a gallon (milk carton) of the coffee to have at home. I think you have to pre-order. I have done it before in the past and it was so worth it. (Pistachio flavor - not something I'd ever think I'd like but I love it!!) The service is fast and friendly. The food is delicious, fresh and homemade. My favorite meal is an enormous pile of grilled fresh veggies that comes with 1 or 2 eggs and a side of toast. The cheese is a bit overpowering though but if you like cheese it's perfect for you! The steak bomb's steak is with shredded steak but kind of wished it was a real piece of steak. Fresh, homemade and filling. We had Eggs Benedict, two egg sandwiches and a Western Omelette. All were good. No, this is not a fancy expensive brunch place. This is a basic home cooked meal that is excellent and gives you great food for the money. I would definitely go back here next time in Stoneham. PLUS, and this is big for me, they have EXCELLENT COFFEE! It is great. No, I dont drink flavored stuff. I prefer a cup of coffee. And this is good. It pains me to say but I didn't have a very good experience. After seeing some of the reviews I had better expectations coming here. I wanted to dine in but I wasn't sure about the space since I didn't find any inside pictures on Google. There's not a lot of room, I would say 7-8 tables, the staff is nice, I mean there was only one person doing two jobs: at the cashier and being a waiter so I kinda feel for the guy. But what really disappointed me was the dish I had: Eggs Benedict. It took a little long to get to the table and unfortunately It looked like it sat there done at the kitchen for a while. Best iced coffee I've had in a very long time, possibly ever. Strong without any bitterness. The French toast was also very good. Dense bread with a good sear and crunch from something I couldn't identify. The 2 pieces it came with were very filling and more then enough. The one downside from my meal was the sides of bacon and sausage. The bacon was extremely thin and reminiscent of the microwave bacon you can purchase at the grocery store in both taste and texture. The sausage had good flavor but was barely heated up. Links were grey and lacked the sear you'd normally see from a flattop. I'd recommend ordering well done. This place has the potential to be one of the best breakfast spots in the area so I hope they can fix these small inconsistencies. Will definitely come back to try more read more

They have a large coffee flavor list that is sugar free. There was only one server covering the front desk and the tables but she did a great job! The food came out quickly and was delicious. The food is really good here but every time we have gone in we have had an issue from the owners/workers fighting and storming out to today where the restaurant was completely empty and we were told we couldn't sit in a booth incase someone with a high chair needed it then immediately after we were okay to move to a high top my husband was very rudely told he couldn't have his Dunkin' Donuts coffee in there. While I do understand not bringing outside food or beverages in I just can't handle the attitude especially when we either come in or order from here 1x a week and it always ends up over $60 for breakfast.
