The Monday crew at the Pignut KaDeWe location made our BBQ experience the Best! The USA style customer service was friendly and helpful. The beverages with ice cubes were very refreshing. There are three bbq sauces to choose from sweet to spicy. We tried the ribs, brisket, pulled chicken and pulled pork and with green salad, cole slaw, creamed corn and wonderful bbq beans. My favorite was the pulled pork, bbq beans and creamed corn. The Mississippi Mud Slide Milkshake was the finishing touch of a wonderful dining experience. YUMMY! read more

Located within a food market hall, this place does ok! The girl serving was very chatty and friendly and helped us out out right away as we only spoke English. We had the St. Louis pork ribs and a pulled pork sandwich. The meat just fell off the ribs it was so tender. I needed to add some extra bow say e to the sandwich just to enhance its tummy smokey flavours some more. Very hot in the market as there are no fans or air conditioning. read more

This little place serves amazing BBQ! It's kind of a small stand in a gorgeous Markthalle. We went on a friday and had plenty of space. The service is very friendly, they're clearly proud of their set up. I had the pulled pork which was smokey and very flavorful, served on a great, toasted bun. Each dish came with cole slaw which was tasty but a little runny. We also got the spare ribs which had a great texture and flavor. We got beans which were delicious, many types of beans and vegetables as well as the sweet potato fries, crispy and sweet but a little too salty. They also serve a really nice pale ale and some typical German beers. This is the best BBQ I have had in Berlin, I will definitely be coming back. read more

Wow, this got to be one of the worst restaurants in Berlin. First the food, we had ribs and a brisket sandwich. The ribs were pure fat with no meat on them. Covering the fat was a thick layer of dry skin. Horrible. The brisket sandwich was dry but at least it was small... Next the prices, 22,50 EUR for the ribs after which we were not even full is just too much, especially for the quality. There are much, much better options in Berlin (I suggest trying the Pit for all those who think this is now BBQ should be). Last the service, on an almost empty Saturday afternoon it took 60 min to serve us the food. Sorry, but this really was the worst restaurant we have been in a while... read more

All in all I think this place deserves four stars. The location in a market hall is nice, even though there are many distractions (ceviche, poutine...). The baby back ribs were really good! I was not a fan of the brisket, which had good texture but not enough flavor. Maybe I should have tried the pulled pork, which seems to be their go-to dish. Their sauces are yummy and include a tasty mustard-based one and another one that packs a good amount of heat. But all of the sauces are very runny, which kind of hampers their ability to stick to the meat properly... I never made it out to big stuff bbq yet, so can't compare. Great sauces, especially if you mix the 2 darker ones. The pulled pork was good, just too much bread. They were out of brisket at lunch time! I think the sandwich is worth around 5 euros and not 7,50 and they should give a bigger portion of potato salad, that's why 3 stars only. The cranberry basil drink was a nice addition. sweet potato fries are great! Dry rub ribs are good, note that its only about half a slab per serving. Baby back ribs are chewy and dry, would not recommend that. Coleslaws are not well flavored, sauce is kinda runny. Overall a little disappointed. read more

Went to their new location in KadeWe. Unfortunately not at all what I expected. We had the pulled pork sandwich with the coleslaw and sweet potato fries on the side. The pork was tender (as is to be expected) but had little to no taste. The coleslaw was refreshing but also quite tasteless and the cabbage wasn't shredded finely enough for my liking. Overall - despite the homemade sauces (which for my taste were too liquid) - it was all very bland. None of the smokey bbq flavours you would expect. The fries were decent but basically just tasted like anywhere else. A shame... read more

This is one of my favorite places in Berlin. Great food and great service. I eat here often and the only times I've been disappointed is when the Markthalle is closed for private events. I usually go for the pulled pork sandwich. I've tried everything they serve and I can't recommend it enough. read more

From an American who knows good barbecue from back home (K.C., Kansas and Texas more than the Carolinas, but still - the real stuff ;)), Berliners don't realize how good they have it to have this place in a local Market hall! If you've ever wondered what all the fuss over "barbecue" is about, try the pulled-pork sandwich or the ribs at Pignut. Real slow-cooked barbecue is a world apart from "meat cooked over coals" - you owe it to yourself to try the real thing and this is an excellent and rare introduction so far from its home in the rural U.S. (Oh, and don't miss out on the baked beans when it comes to picking sides ;)). read more

Super BBQ. Dixie style. Pulled pork sandwiches are tender and delicious. Ribs looked even better but weren't ready at noon. Can also highly recommend the slaw and fries in all variations, waffle, curly, sweet potato. Will definitely be back soon read more
