My son has been going to Liz since he was 12 months old. She was lovely and amazing, she took great care of my son, and his hair was absolutely adorable each and every time. He's 3 now and when I went to schedule a haircut I saw that Liz's name was no longer available. The ambiance of this place is great, lots of cars to choose from for sitting and kids shows on the TVs, perfect for toddlers. I decided to try out someone new here and was not pleased, she seemed a little annoyed with my son for just being a toddler and was very heavy handed. His haircut looked fine, but we left with redness and scratch marks all over his forehead and neck. He cried the entire time which happens sometimes but very rarely with Liz as she knew him and made him feel very comfortable. We will probably not be back unless Liz returns, otherwise, I might try to find out where Liz works. read more

If I could leave a 0 star I would. This is our second time coming to this establishment, and we waited over 15 minutes after our appointment to even get seen. We finally get my son in the chair, and the stylist starts to cut his hair. She then said "Oh he has lice I can't cut it anymore". I then checked his head and there was ONE bug, not even lice, a stupid flea. Which he could have gotten from anywhere. She tells me even if I take it out of his hair she still can't do it and then proceeds to say "I knew I thought I saw something".... GIRL, if you thought you saw something why didn't you look before you started chopping away. They made us leave with half his hair shaved off. I completely understand the policy and I am not upset about that. I am upset at the fact that she saw something before cutting but proceeded to cut it anyways. There should absolutely be a policy where they check the child's hair before they start cutting. It's humiliating and a waste of time. Go somewhere else read more

Had mostly positive experiences here. The late policy is pretty tough but it is what it is. Our son has been coming here for years and had the same stylist the whole time. She knew how to put him at ease as he was still uncomfortable with scissors flying around his head. Got a new stylist today and recommendation to avoid Keisha. She had no patience with our child and was making demonstrative faces and gestures the whole time when he was recoiling from the scissors. Then after we left we could hear her through the door talking crap about our child. Took everything I had to walk away and not go back in and say some words. But I will admit... she did give a good haircut. read more

Atrocious. They butchered my daughter's hair. The stylist cut off several inches after I asked for an inch to be taken from her length. She cut blunt bangs into her hair, which I did request, but cut the wrong parts of her hair to make them happen; she cut the "bangs" hair into the side of her head. The bangs are also crooked in addition to being cut into the wrong spot. On the back and sides she took way too much off of and it is also crooked. My daughter cried for over an hour locked in her room due to her "ugly" hair. I paid for the haircut as to not make a scene in the store or have a desk employee have to address the situation. I called the next day hoping to speak to the manager and was unable to. The person that answered heard me out and offered a refund. I accepted. The next day I received text messages from the manager who refused the refund saying that the employee was not authorized to give it to me. I showed her pictures and asked if she would be happy with the cut if it was her kid. The question was ignored in her next text to me. I would never recommend this establishment to a parent. I now have to wait for her hair to grow back enough so that another stylist can make it look okay until it really grows in. read more

My baby girl is the type who is scared of anything new. New people and new places freak her out. It's very hard for her to be comfortable but these are guys are PROs, they have fancy chairs, TVs with entertaining shows for kids, bubbles to grab their attention etc. they are well prepared and know their clients. The haircut itself also is amazing, white a toddler who wouldn't sit still I am so impressed with the cut. Her hair was curly and with uneven locks and now she is summer ready with everything evenly blended in. Before I could even ask they packed up some of her locks for me in a little baggie for me. They give kids a little goodie bag too for being brave and getting their cut. The experience was wonderful and nothing like what I was expecting it to be. Even prices are really reasonable!! The whole place was such a fun environment. Ernie gave my son his haircut and he was AMAZING!! He was so patient and made my son laugh the whole time. We will definitely be back. We got stopped on the way to our appointment due to construction and and extremely long line at the light. That is neither here nor there, but things happen and we were turned away at 6 minutes due to they stylist taking a walk-in. The website says 15 minutes, but I was told 5 minutes. However, no accommodation was even attempted! You can take a walk-in, but not even discuss with any of the stylists about trying to fit us in. Terrible service and overpriced crap. We will never recommend this place to anyone. Not to mention, the kids were all screaming, not very reassuring. read more

Booked an appointment online for my child. It was their first haircut in a salon. We arrived a few minutes early and found parking pretty easily (mid afternoon on a Sunday). We were able to wait in their cute playroom and our little one played with puzzles and the train table. When it was our turn, they were able to pick which ever chair they wanted and the stylist immediately put our kid at ease (and us!) hair cut was quick and looks a million times better than I have been doing at home. Absolute shit place with their 5 minute policy. They don't understand that the location they're in people are bound to be late. We were 5 minutes late and got denied and my daughter cried for 2 hours because of them. There was a stylist just sitting around and could have cut her hair easily but they are too stuck up and stuck to their policy which is absolute crap. I'll find a better place to go to. If they have to stick to their policy then they need designated parking. Waste of a trip and trying to find parking. I'd give zero rating if I could. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I called to tell them we were going to be running a little late due to heavy traffic which is something we can' control. And we left early enough. The clerk was so rude and made it like we trash. Stating we are fully booked and we have to reschedule if you're over 5 minutes late. We got there a little later than expected. 9 minutes. Tells us we have to reschedule and again "we're fully booked" Well there was 3 workers; not one customer in sight. I didn't even bother to reschedule because of the rudeness. Went to Starbucks next door to grab some coffee and snack. Walked pass the salon. Still not a customer in sight. But the 3 employees talking, looking at their cells phones etc. My 6 year old cried all the way home. She was so excited all week to get her hair cut. Just moving to the area, I thought finding a new place for kids cuts would be difficult. This place was great. It was very easy to book an appointment online. We didn't have a stylist preference because it was our first time there, but Kristen was awesome! She did such a good job on both my boys cuts. We will definitely be back! read more

The first time we visited, my son had never had a professional haircut and they did such a great job with him! He did resist a bit, but I believe Kristen was his stylist! She did such an amazing job and their receptionist even helped keep my son occupied. My daughter did have a hair cut before and knew she had to sit still and they did such a good job with her as well. Definitely can't wait to go back! And neither can my kids! read more

Another post about the late policy....I walked in 5 minutes late today, the gentleman at the front was checking a family out and I took my son to the bathroom. When I came back out he let me know I was late and they would not be able to take us. The salon was completely empty and there were 3 stylists just staring at me. My sons hair takes about 5 minutes to buzz and I asked if they were sure they couldn't squeeze us in. His very matter of fact and lack of empathy response was "no". I asked when the soonest they could get us in and he said on Monday. Very disappointed 5 year old and Mom. We are on our way to another location now who happily squeezed him in. Arrived 7 minutes late, which is 2 minutes after their bullsh*t "5 minute" policy, which is NOT posted anywhere on their website OR in their confirmation email. They clearly don't know what all goes into wrangling a 3 year old and make it somewhere on time. Or not knowing what traffic is going to be. The best part of this is the girl who was supposed to cut his hair was still there as it was 15 minutes until the store closed and she was already cleaning up her station. The receptionist refused to let him get his hair cut. The kicker, you ask? He's cried every other time and we've been teaching him about haircuts so he would not be scared, we've watched videos, and hyped him up for the appointment. After they turned us away while they were still open and the girl was literally still there, he melted down to a puddle of tears because he wanted his hair cut. All of our teaching and hyping him up for nothing. They could have easily cut the little amount of hair he has WELL WITHIN the 15 minutes... AND we would have tipped VERY WELL. Previous haircuts were mediocre at best. We will not be back and will be letting all of our friends know who have similar aged kids. Get it together guys. It's not hard. read more

What a great place to take my girls for a cut. They have various different chairs, like a plane and car. TVs at each station help keep kids preoccupied while they get their hair cut. Everyone that works there is also very nice and seem to know how to relate to children. read more

Great kids' haircuts! I took my son here after he got a few bad cuts from other salons hoping that because they cater to children the stylists would be more comfortable cutting a child's hair. I was very happy with the overall experience. The waiting area was clean and had many activities to keep my son busy. Our stylist, Ernie, was very professional and patient with my son. My son got a great looking haircut too! It might be a few more dollars than taking your kid to other places, but in my opinion it is money well spent to have a good looking cut from a professional who knows how to work with kids! read more

Super annoyed! They don't take appointments but they let you check in on line before they even open. We got there 15 minutes before they opened myself and 3 other moms who were wait could not check in online. They opened the doors we all 1st in and only ones there and we were all told we had a 40 minute wait. If you are walk in only you should not let people check in on line! They do a great job with the kids and the cuts though. read more

Took my son to get his first hair cut today and it was awesome! Liz was absolutely wonderful! Definitely recommend. She talked My son through the whole thing letting him know what she was doing, blowing bubbles, and doing everything to keep him calm and comfortable. We will definitely be back! read more

Tami and Ernie are great! They are the only reason we have come here in the past. The online app is ridiculous. If they can't manage it appropriately, they should stop using it. Busy weekend (which I expected) so I checked in online and was told a one hour wait. As expected it was packed when we arrived after 1 hour. They had plenty of stylists working. Thirty mins later we were still waiting and I hadn't even seen one child from the waiting area get called. I asked the receptionist where we were in the queue. I was told there were still seven ahead of us, three of whom had yet to check in. I was told that even if they check in at any point before we were called they would still be ahead of us. That makes no sense. If you arrive past your quoted time you should be moved back in the queue. Otherwise why not check in first thing in the morning and show up whenever you want? Given the crowd in there and the speed with which the stylists work, a one hour wait quote was ridiculous to begin with. A 2 1/2 hour wait time would have been more accurate - which would have been absolutely fine. I could have just shown up then. We left and checked in online at Great Clips. Quoted a 15 mins wait. Arrived and it was packed. My son was back in the chair in 10 mins. $14 and a great cut. We were back home before I would have even been called at Pigtails. Not sure we will be back to Pigtails and Crewcuts unless they figure out how to manage their business. read more

I have been considering bringing my son here for awhile but thought the price was just too high for a kids cut. I've been taking him to drop in hair salons for the last year and every time it's a battle and i end up covered in hair and stressed! I broke down and took my son to Pigtails & Crewcuts tonight and I will NEVER take him ANYWHERE else again!! I LOVE THIS PLACE! They are absolutely WONDERFUL! He got a perfect haircut (and i mean perfect), didn't cry once, i didn't get covered in hair and it's the most relaxed I've been with him at a salon!! Worth EVERY DIME!! I took my nephew here for his first "official" haircut. He has some sensory issues & we were concerned about this experience for him. He got to choose from a fire truck, police car, or airplane to sit in & watched a movie while his hair was being cut. Little did we know Liz, our stylist, was going to take SUCH good care of him & we had nothing to worry about! She carefully cut his full head of hair into a very cute & manageable style for my sister-in-law. We walked away having a VERY positive experience & will be back again! read more

Terrible experience. I scheduled two appointments for my 6-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter for the same time. We were running a few minutes late and spoke with someone there to let them know. We provided our exact location - at a light right down the street and she said that was fine. When we arrived, however, they said they only had time for one of the kids and they were too booked up to take both. There wasn't a soul in there except for us, so I'm not sure why they couldn't take both kids, especially when my son's haircut would take almost no time. They should have told us that over the phone so we could have turned around. The kids were incredibly disappointed and the staff was unbelievably rude. I understand having a late policy, but you're running a kids' salon. Any business dealing with young kids should understand the challenges parents face with getting places on time and allow more than a 5 minute window. We were maybe 5 minutes late, not 15-20 minutes. Will never return - staff was rude and unwilling to accommodate. read more
