They aren't educated enough! had experience with my autistic sister today, my sister is non-verbal autistic, the nurses and doctors don't know anything about disabilities! it's very shameful! All doctors and nurses need to go back to school and get educated about disabilities! it needs to be required! it's sad! This location isn't educated, and I know there're other locations that aren't educated either! This is unprofessional and an embarrassment to the profession of the job! when a patient has a disability, a lot of adults or children are! I ve been coming to this office for years, unfortunately the quality of care and customer service has declined significanlty. the pediatricians have you in out rapidly. they don't bother to reach out to you once your lab results come in because you have to make an appointment even for that. Worse of all it's impossible to reach the front office to make an appointment. They don't answer in a timely manner. I've waited for 45 minutes before and no it wasn't during lunch time. Been a member for years now,doctors are great ,i dislike their front desk answering system!!! There is no way to contact this office unless you show up or call more than 100 times. To get a call back calls always drop or get hanged up on. Front desk assistant are always rude nonetheless,even if you have an appointment wait is about an hour. I took my mom here for a physical. She was in an out with an hour. She said it was very clean and the staff was very helpful. There is a lot of parking towards the back and I believe that's the only entrance right now. They took her bloodwork and everything all in the same building. Came in to get basically a routing physical and get some questions answered. Had an appointment with Dr. Abiva, so I showed up, filled out some paperwork, and I was good to go. Dr. Abiva did all the routine stuff, asked me some questions, and then sent me off for some blood work (it's super awesome that they have their own lab for bloodwork in the same facility) and to another facility for radiology. Aside from the blood work, I was never really waiting for anything at any point in the visit, everyone was courteous and professional, and explained everything to me to a satisfactory extent. I took a full day off for work, but even after driving to the radiology lab and getting tests done there, I was all done with everything by 3. Dr. Abiva followed up with the test results afterwards very quickly. Pretty much everything I could ask for, except for the location of the facility. More than comfortable returning here. read more

I was referred by my primary doctor see Dr. Manuel Chon for uterine fibroids. He was very dismissive of my pain. Even after seeing an ultrasound I have done previously that show that I had a 9 cm fibroid. he told me that I shouldn't be in any pain because of where the fibroid was located and if I have pain, to drink some Motrin, and to tell my partner not to be rough while being intimate and to come back in six months, if I still had any pain. He's so unprofessional I was in there for less than 10 minutes. I called my doctor back to get a second opinion and thank God she personally referred me to Dr. Sarah Soto from PIH hospital Whittier. She was amazing and within a month and a half of being seen by her she completed a hysterectomy. I did file a formal complaint against Dr. Manuel Chon. I don't know why does he practice women's medicine if he is going to be so dismissive of women issues. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. He's also given a bad name to the PIH medical group of doctors, because every other doctor I had encountered are always nice attentive and listen to my concerns, and most importantly address my concerns. read more

Today is the day I draw the line with this place!!! I have been coming here for over 16yrs and its at its worst now more then ever. I had an appt this Thurs 11/1/18 with Dr. Rios-Flores and it was one of the worst appts ever, she was rude, condescending, made inappropriate comments, didn't look at my previous history to medication I can't take. offered pain meds right away, didn't even address options. I left feeling upset, confused about what happened in those 5-10 mins she was in the examination room with me. I felt insulted and frustrated, I avoid coming here due to another incident with another doctor and nothing ever gets resolved. I mean I have insurance I pay for each pay check and don't even like coming to the doctors for these reasons. I am very disappointed and this office is failing to see all this, people are scared to speak up about medical staff. I am pretty sure if their checks (money) relied on customer service they would do a better job! I am looking for a new doctor and will not come back here, I am not saying that all the physicians here are bad but don't have the time to find out !! read more

The receptionist receptionist don't know sh*** they try to act smart! I saw David Abiva and he was great. He answered all of my questions and ran all the necessary tests. He even called me after to go over the results and answered more questions I had. I have mixed feeling about this place. When it comes to the doctors and specialists, the staff is cool. Nothing to write home about, but if youre the type of person who likes to have control over your treatment, then you might like this place. In addition to that, i really like the variety of specialist available and the number of offices the Medical group has. Aside from the doctors, service is meager. I've waited as long as an hour and a half in the waiting room (with appointment!). This place is obviously overbooked and understaffed. I had accepted this as "normal" until I once accompanied my friend to her OBGYN appointment at the local Kaiser. I was shocked at how quickly she was seen over there. Probably the worst service I've ever got we recently switched Dr offices, my son had a Dr appointment today at 9:50. We arrived at 9:30, he was not taken into a room until 10:55 at 11:40 as I type this up we are still waiting for him to get his vaccines. Going on 2 hour now 3. This is ridiculous, the usual time a patient should be in an office is 15-30 min. When taking in appointments make sure your staffed and time is flowing how it should. Oh and not to mention when I called to make the appointment they said only Day available is June 23 are you going to take it or let your son miss his physical. Talk about great customer service If you work in health care you know number one thing is customer service. I wish I could type something better since the dr I've been with since I was a child and not is the pediatrician for my children is there but I blame the appointment coordination I blame the medical assistants and phlebotomist for not knowing how to coordinate there time properly and check what appointments they have and if someone has been sitting in the waiting area for longer than an hour you as a MA should see why's going on if you keep seeing the same person sitting there after an hour. read more

Been at this clinic for my children and myself for 7plus yrs only good pediatrician there is Dr.Le amazing doctor really listens and takes care of my childrens health does her job with great passion i really appreciate her. Also my fav nurse there was Rocio really sweet and great with kids .. As for the clinic it self the staff answering phs not so much the girls are sometimes rude incompetent hang up on you ph lines ring forever a few times i called from my home in south L.a it rang till i walked into the clinic. They have xray and full Laboratories eye clinic and certain day chiropractors for adults Dr.Jordan is ok altho he carries somewhat of a "douche bag " attitude he is a good Dr. Only complaints as far as clean or cleanliness the kids waiting side for sick kids / play area is always flithy they never clorox wipe the kids toys or waiting chairs child or adult.. Took my mom to get her yearly eye exam with Dr. Watanabe. From the moment she walked in she says she felt very nervous, for the reason being it was her 1st time getting her eye exam at another facility after so many years going to the same place. But from the beginning when signing in, all staff was very nice she said. While waiting for Dr. Watanabe to call her in, she said nurse Ana made her feel really comfortable and was super friendly and didn't fell as nervous anymore. She got her eye exam done and went on to check out glasses and the man Enrique from the optical shop was super friendly, fast, and very helpful in choosing the right glasses. Bonnie Colville is a joke. I came because I had a agitations in my right hip, along with some other muscles agitation. She walked right in said hi, but it ended there. She wasn't personable at all. She laughed when I described my ailments and quickly prescribed me medication. Why would I put a chemical such as pain killers and a muscle relaxant into my body if I do not have severe pain? I've been coming in for years with all my children and have had a few problems here and there. I've been placed on hold for hours, I've had to wait to be seen for hours, they have horrible customer service although there are counted few that are friendly but, today was just one of those days where I was overwhelmed due to my children being in online school and having to leave them for a quick doctor visit with my youngest. Drove out to the doctor got to my appointment on time!! Checked in online and filled out the paperwork. An hour latter I get called to the front desk just to be told they didn't drop me in the system as arrived because I never took the paperwork back. I specified she said to turn the paperwork in tot he nurse when called but she said there was a misunderstanding and I had to have brought the paper work back so now doctors were gone and could not be seen! Mind you the whole time she just gave me attitude as if she was the one who had wasted her time in a waiting room!! Maybe if she would've payed attention to her job instead of chitchatting with her other coworkers she would've "dropped me" into the system!! I Went to this clinic for a physical exam and my experience was amazing...it all started with the front office girls Laura and Nancy.They were really professional, kind and the sign up process was super fast. Then I went to see Dr. Petkar and her nurses Daniel & Carla were really nice and helpful. Dr. Petkar was one of a kind. This is really the first doctor I see who actually cares about the patient's health. She really did what I call a physical exam, she answered all of my questions and explained everything in detail. I was sooo scared getting my blood drawn because I know that I faint every time I get blood work. Anyways, Manuel Gonzalez at the lab is wonderful. At first he was he looked a bit overwhelmed due to my behavior but that was very understandable. I give everyone a hard time. Not until Yolanda came to the rescue and suggested drawing the blood on a bed. When I laid down to get my blood drawn Manny was so calm, patient, and just great at drawing my blood. Horrible customer service skills! I normally go to the Downey clinic but I had to take my son to the South Gate clinic because the podiatrist was at that clinic the day I called for the appointment. I was told by the after hours pediatrician that my son needed to seen by the podiatrist for a possible broken ankle. I called and got an appointment the same day after explaining the situation to the nurse. That was the only great thing about this place. The doctor put my son in a cast. After waiting 10 mins for the cast to dry, the nurse came in and said we were all set. I asked if we would get crutches and she said no the doctor said he would get a boot and to come back in 6 weeks to have the cast removed. I walk out carrying my 65 lb son because none of them could possibly think of getting us a wheelchair, and see the other nurse. I ask her about scheduling the appointment for the cast removal and about getting the boot. She schedules the appointment and then tells me that she will call me Monday morning (it was Friday afternoon) and let me know what time to bring him back in for the fitting because the orthopedic department was closed already. Monday comes around and I don't get any calls from either nurse. by mid day I call to find out what time I need to take my son for his boot fitting. The receptionist tells me that everyone is out to lunch but takes my name and number and forwards a message to the nurses. I had requested the afternoon off from work seeing how the nurse told me I would be taking my son in for the fitting. Nobody called me back until 4:45 pm when the clinic closes at 5. The nurse now tells me that I need to be patient and wait for the insurance to approve the referral for my son to be fitted for a shoe and that it won't be there with them but at a different clinic. She then tells me that it will take about 2 weeks. I tell her that she told me something different Friday when I was there. She doesn't even apologize for having given me the wrong information. I tell her that my son wasn't even given crutches and how do they expect me to be carrying him around? She says well the doctor said he needs to get a shoe. I said Friday I was told a boot to which she replies no it will be a shoe. That following Friday (a week after the cast was put on) I call back to find out what is going on because I haven't heard back from anyone. Again I'm told everyone is out to lunch despite the fact that I called at a different time. Again a receptionist (Lourdes) offers to take a message. I agree and ask her to please note that they call me back before they're closing not like the last time. I begin to explain to her my frustration because no one has called me back and my son has been walking on his cast and now it's all dirty and she starts to laugh at me. To hear her giggle as I'm explaining my situation completely upset me. I then ask her what was so funny and she says nothing. I ask her why she was laughing at me as I am already frustrated enough to which she replies "I was not laughing that was my natural reaction to what you are telling me". I got really upset because I'm already stressed that my son is walking around with no safety equipment and has to go back to school that coming Monday. So at that point I request to speak with her supervisor. She says she's out to lunch so I ask that she transfer me to her voice mail. Instead she says "so do you want me to take the message or not?" This upset me even more and so after giving her my information for a message, she transfer me to her supervisor's voice mail. I cannot believe that this place could have such incompetent staff that provide wrong information and that can laugh at patients. Luckily the supervisor Yolanda called me and was very apologetic. She was willing to help me out and she kept apologizing for the manner in which Lourdes had treated me. Based on the other reviews here, this place really needs to hire more customer friendly staff. read more

My first visit was with Dr. Thai, she was great and really listened. This was in Dec 2011. Unfortunately, I went back a month later and was rushed through. Next month, she tried something different and it worked but she didn't seem interested in what I was trying to tell her. Last Saturday, I broke my ankle. I called up and my doctor was out for two weeks so I saw Dr. Quesada. When I made the appointment, I told them what is was for, that I couldn't walk, I fell on my ankle. Dr. Quesada saw me (almost an hour after my scheduled appointment time) and immediately sent me to get x-rays. Mind you, I was walking on an injured ankle, I had to walk to the other side for x-rays. I get there and they say the x-ray tech is on lunch. For me to GO BACK and finish with Dr. Quesada. I walk all the way back and sit and wait in a room for another 45min. The nurse comes in at that point and says I should go back to x-rays and wait. UGH! All this walking back and forth is KILLING my ankle. Another half hour wait and I get my x-rays done. Back to the doc and wait another 20min, doc says its just sprained and sends me home. When I get home, his nurse calls me to immediately come back. I do and 20min later he comes in and says the x-ray tech found a fracture. Why didn't the doctor see this? The next day I see the podiatrist, Dr. Lowe and again, wait over an hour after my appointment. He comes in, takes off the splint the nurses did yesterday and re-wraps it. Then tells me I'll need a boot and he'll see me in 7weeks! That's it! The next day, I take off the splint and bandage and notice that Dr. Lowe wrapped my foot soo tight it's puffed up! I immediately call his office and am still waiting for a call back 5days later. The nurses were super nice, I just wish the doctors had more compassion. If you get an appointment, make sure to clear out the whole day, you'll spend the entire day there! read more
