(I must add the store was empty so she had time) It seemed as though she was more interested in getting back to the front to talk to the other male associate that was up front instead of helping me. So I just stood there and googled my answers and helped myself!! Once I finally got to the register she continued to talk to the other guy about everything under the sun. Instead of asking "did I find everything I was looking for" lmaooo (sad) I listened to her go on and on until finally she finished ringing my stuff up. I got my receipt and walked out disgusted... Wayne mentioned that they had gotten some mis-tint paint in Bone that he could give me a discount on, and then showed me how to sign up for PaintPerks and the text alerts to get more discounts. I ended up far enough under budget that I was able to buy a sample of the color I wanted for my kitchen and a bunch of supplies. Then, when he found out that I would have to walk the three blocks back to my apartment with a 5-gallon bucket of paint, he offered to lend me one of the store's extra handtrucks to get it home. Wayne was friendly, helpful, thoughtful, and really went above and beyond with the service he provided to me. I will DEFINITELY be coming back to this location in the future when I paint my kitchen and do other projects, and I'm so glad to know that this store is right in my neighborhood. Thank you, Wayne!

They and the awful supermarket a block west at least ought to let people park there for Friday prayers at the Masjid across the street. When she brought it home, I saw the receipt and immediately noticed that it was sold at a price the was extraordinarily high. Like, REALLY high - even for Ben Moore. I went to verify my concern about what price point my mom was sold and a comparable item at HoPo was 1/4 the price. The price was especially high because she explained its use; to stain the wood legs on a new foot stool. Hardly a project that required a high end custom stain. When I went to the store the salesman was there and was open to discussing what happened for my mom that lead my mom to believe this high price was what was truly needed for her tiny project. The manager was present during the entire conversation with the employee and at one point jumped in and was immediately extremely assertive; exactly the opposite of the sales person. The manager was consistently denying any responsibility...even after his employee acknowledge he understood how it may have been confusing to my mom and apologized to me. All in front of the manager. Not the manager; he behaved in extreme opposition to the established sales philosophy of 'The customer is always right.' I am sure the store will object to my review for many reasons that are likely inaccurate...but if they do you will be best served to analyze if they are worthy of your business by looking at whatever retort they made but in the context of whether their rebuttal is still valid if the original sale was made as it should have been and supported by the employee as improper. There is no valid objection that could warrant this manager's behavior once the original error is consider as the cause...and all the negative treatment by the manager solely the effect which warrants this type of review. There are other options that are of equal quality and I would suggest looking into those options; I strongly advise to not shop at this particular Ben Moore if that is still your manufacturing preference. Other Ben Moore stores are also available for consideration. I hope this is useful to other shoppers.

After Behr paint failed me twice in the past few year I'm done. Now that Sherwin Williams own Valspar why not just used the actual real paint. Rated highest, cost can be a little higher but if buy it on a sale it's cheaper. The last sale was 30% and the one before was 40% all paints. I love Emerald for exterior because it goes on thick to cover some of my older homes age blemishes. Extreme bond primer might be overkill but it works great and give me confidence in a lasting paint job.

Since moving to Roxborough over 29 years ago, I have been shopping at Stanley's Hardware. I have…read morenever had a negative experience with their customer service. Last week they went above and beyond, clearly deserving of media mention. Last summer I purchased a Weber Grill. I immediately had an issue with the casters not working. I called Ernie who dispatched his crew to retrieve the grill and try to fix it. It was missing many screws and one of the casters had fallen off. The crew brought back the grill, supposedly fixed but I have had difficulty with the same casters since last year. They will lock in place, and not stay unlocked thus making it almost impossible to move my grill. Finally, last week one of the casters just broke off entirely. This was two days before my July Fourth cookout. I called Ernie back and he immediately remembered me and dispatched another crew to assess the situation . When the crew arrived, they realized they would again have to take the grill back to the shop. A few hours later I got a call from Mike asking me if I wanted to have the repair done by Weber under the warranty or if I wanted them to try to put on new casters. I told them to put on universal casters because I did not want the same casters from Weber. A few hours later I got a call from Mike telling me the repair was complete and could they drop off the grill. I said sure and how much did I owe them. I was then informed I didn't owe them anything. I cannot thank them enough. I especially want to shout out Ernie, Mike and the owners , Mark and Alex Jaconski who run an exceptional business.

Stanley's is the classic small business the neighborhood wants to keep in place for their needs big and small. I've been blessed that I haven't had too many emergencies in my house but knowing a Stanley's run can be done quick sets my mind at ease. The best I can do to support them is to continue to visit in those non-emergency moments like when I need a key made or a small piece of hardware.
