Watch out for price changes with these folks. I had them quote on a small job with timing schedule (5 days turnaround). When I called with them to coordinating drop off they not only changed the schedule from 5 days to 15 day (which I get things getting backed up) but almost doubled the price even when I was fine with the 15 days. I had a huge metal spiral staircase and when I had a company installed it they left it outside before installation and the weather caused the powder coat to flake and all sorts of ugly things. Remind you this thing is like 12 steps, 75 balusters, all kinds of pieces. These guys at pike had it all stripped, and re powder coated, wrapped up nicely right around 2 weeks. It looks way better than brand new. Dealing with these guys was nice.they were professional, and pretty much on time for the most part. I was really happy with the experience and I'll be a try turning customer if I ever need anything of this sort again. read more

STAY AWAY!!!!! That's what I will start with, absolutely HORRIBLE experience here, I will make it as short as possible. I purchased BRAND NEW in the box 19" Stance SC-6 wheels, they were silver and I wanted them black. I talked to the guy that "runs" things here and he said it wouldn't be a problem and gave me a quote I was happy with. I dropped them off and was told they will be done in 2 weeks. No problem. I get an email at about the 2 week mark telling me the wheels were clear coated and they would need to strip them. Ok, mistakes happen, why they didn't notice this when I dropped them off is beyond me. What is even MORE beyond me is they are the experts here, how do you not know that a wheel that is PAINTED silver, and it's very clear its paint, is not clear coated? First thing that should have tipped me off that I was not dealing with experts here. 2 weeks turns into 3, turns into 4, turns into 6! I have to call daily to get any sort of update, so finally I get told they are all set and come get them.....this is where it gets really disappointing. I was told there were imperfections in the casting of the wheels, ok...what does that mean to me? I am not a wheel powder coater here, just a customer. Well that means that my wheels look like absolute GARBAGE....they have pits and the powder coat looks all orange peeled and embarrassing to be honest. Not to mention the face of one of them looked like someone dragged a host or something over it while it was drying so that had a huge gouge across the front. The owner says he's sorry this is the best they can do and says I don't have to pay for them but just materials, to the tune of $200. I was so frustrated and exhausted from dealing with them I paid it and took the wheels. Further inspection when I got home yielded some real hack work. They coated the mounting surface of the wheels! Who does that? The inner bead, where the tire would seal, was so uneven and missing powder that there is no way a tire would seal. They ruined my wheels. I now have to resort to small claims court. Mind you through this whole ordeal I was made to feel like the jerk! Come to find out through conversations with one of the employees they have only been open for 6 months. Nice of them to hone their skills on my brand new set of wheels eh? Had they told me, and I guess this just comes with experience that they lack, that there is a risk when they STRIP THE PAINT there may be imperfections that will make the powder coat look like a child did it, I would have told them to just leave them silver. But now I am here out $1600 for the wheels, $200 for material, and nearly an entire summer with no wheels for my car. What a joke. Oh yeah, he also blamed ME and the wheel manufacturer. Rest assured that they DO know what they are doing and I've also had many friends get fantastic looking work done here. This is a fabulous shop. I had an old table base with a lot of delicate connections in the metal that I needed stripped and repainted. I called numerous shops and one of them that could only do the stripping part of the job recommended Pike. Everyone I dealt with at Pike was knowledgable and friendly. They had 6 different paint finishes to choose from (more than any other shop I dealt with) and the project turned out fabulously. None of the delicate connections were broken, the surface was completely smooth and the paint job was great. They also fininshed the job in half the time they estimated, so that was a big plus too. If you have any metal stripping and/or painting jobs look no further, you can't do better than Pike. read more

We gave Pike Powdercoating a large and delicate job. They needed to blast and powder coat ten irreplaceable antique floor grates with louvers...everyone of them in our house. We were concerned that whoever we gave them to refurbish would ruin something and we would be in big trouble. However, the staff at PP did a PHENOMENAL job with each grill and louver. They look brand new after having years of paint and dirt removed from them. We are very detail-oriented people and could not find one thing that was less than perfect. And they did the work for the fraction of what new replacement grates and louvers would cost.
