If it feels WRONG IT IS!!@....with absolutely zero sense of community in a studio that feels like you are in a parking garage above a bar then this is the place for you....AND THE ONLY PLACE THAT I HAVE EVER PRACTICED THAT USES THE COMMAND ...EXALT ALOT .!!! ...Health and wellness is not what this place is about at all...more like a smug motley click of exercise junkies in some competition ....and I had gone there once when she first opened and it was the same then ...the only reason I just spent the entire winter and idk 650d going there was too try and heal from very severe trauma I had experienced...which REAL YOGA is very helpful with and to sweat...detox...but only hurt my body from Ego based classes and a nasty bacterial infection from the filthy floor that in 5 months of attending I only saw a cleaning service in the locker room once and never did I see the floor being cleaned and I went to back to back classes many many times...and no cleaning occurred...I spent 100d on a new mat there which I threw out after it being on the filthy floors and the sweat of the entire population of the place in it !!! And still have not healed from the bacterial infection I acquired there and its been well over a month and alot of Epsom salt bathes. Like most westernized things Yoga has been reduced to a narcissistic money grab..a big business....and I have come to the conclusion that being in a crowded hot oxygen deprived DIRTY room wearing some overpriced recycled polyester yoga outfit ie plastic on a expensive mat made of who knows what ??listening to some guru wanna be give commands IS NOT A HEALTHY CHOICE! And its not just this place ...most of them...this was just the worst example I ever experienced.... you vote with your TIME and MONEY..keeping mine and back to common sense and the best things in life are free...walking and getting fresh air ...stretching... feeding my mind.. body and spirit..not depleting it ....EXALTING THE LORD NOT SOME FREAK THAT THINKS THEY HAVE BECOME SOME DEMI GOD ...and if the saying cleanliness is next to Godliness is true well ...thus place is the anti Christ!

Gail, and the rest of the teachers at ADF, are second to none! The classes are challenging but also great for all levels. I danced through high school and college, and tried returning elsewhere shortly after, but nothing really stuck. Since being at ADF I have improved as a dancer more in a year than I feel I have throughout my whole career. Gail even helped me get back into pointe shoes after a ten year hiatus! The studio, teachers, and other students create a very welcoming, warm, and non-judgmental environment conducive to emotional and physical growth as a dancer and human overall. Great opportunities, FANTASTIC STAFF, and a wide variety of classes and workshops. I LOVE ADF!!!!!

She pushes us within our own minds, bodies, and abilities, understanding that at 40 we're not likely to develop perfect turnout and 180-degree extension, but we can still strive for perfect technique within whatever turnout and extension we have. Her combinations are both challenging and fun to dance--in my 35+ years of ballet classes, her combinations have provided some of the most enjoyable choreography I've danced. I eventually received a call back and the instructor seemed reluctant to allow me to attend a class for fear that my "inexperience" would slow down her class. When I arrived, the instructor was unnerved by the fact that I wasn't wearing long sleeves and was concerned that my "skin oils" would damage the reformers. She then commenced to hand me towels to put on the reformer to prevent my oils from soiling the reformer. Throughout the class, there was much inappropriate talk about people in general. The instructor didn't cue technique at all. Quite frankly, I found her to be rude, condescending, and overall not a good instructor. This was by far the worst class I've ever taken! I wish I could give 0 stars.

I was cooling down in a class at the yoga studio that shares the building and lot with this Pilates studio,when the Pilates studio owner burst into the room literally screaming at our teacher about people in our class using her parking spots. She was frighteningly aggressive and completely inappropriate. I understand that apparently this has been an ongoing issue, but obviously there are better, more professional ways to handle it. Put a sign on the door or set up a meeting. She ruined our practice and truly scared a bunch of us, plus probably lost several potential clients in my class. I would have eventually checked out this Pilates studio, but instead I'll stick with the Pilates Principle in Latham where the instructors are kind and respectful in a healthy environment.

I must say, that the quality and knowledge of our instructor at APC is far superior and at a much higher level than I have experienced elsewhere. Our instructor is a true professional and her knowledge of Pilates principals and movements is exceptional. We have both seen and feel results from our training and plan to continue. We have never experienced any disrespectful or aggressive behavior as described in the previous review. In fact, on many occasions I have witnessed clients of the adjacent yoga studio mistakenly come to the Pilates Center. The owner of APC has always been extremely polite and directed them to the yoga studio. She has always allowed them to walk through the Pilates Center - always in an extremely polite and helpful manner, Both the APC and the yoga center have assigned parking areas and both are clearly marked with signage. I feel bad that businesses such as this, can be maligned on social networking and don't have an opportunity to defend themselves.
