I started taking classes 6 months ago. I started out once a week and now I go 3 times a week. I have seen a significant change in my body and health. I never really cared for the gym but Pilates has opened my eyes. I feel stronger healthier and so aware of my body and mind. Ron and Niki have been so AMAZING! I look forward to every class and wish I had the time to go daily. I have also taken one 50/50 class which is half spin and half Pilates on the reformer and what an amazing intense experience. The instructors are encouraging and have never made me feel inadequate. They have always been encouraging. The classes are small enough that you don't feel like your not being paid attention to. I take Form & Stretch w/Ron Duran and it's been life changing. When I'm disciplined about going to class, my chronic lower back pain and muscle tightness disappears. New to Pilates, I wanted to establish a vacation-mode exercise routine while visiting. Unimpressed by the group class scene (spinning, cardio, etc.) at several Palm Springs health clubs, I "settled" on a 5-session, $75 membership at Pilates Plus. I can't believe my good fortune: Pilates Plus was GREAT. I took two classes with Ashley who is a friendly, gentle and firm instructor. I took a class with Stephen who was equally up to the task. And I finished my week with two classes from Ron. His fun style, friendly banter and obvious expertise with Pilates and physiology made me feel very comfortable. Plus, he's got a great sense of humor. Pilates Plus has a variety of classes, some suited for neophytes like me and others restricted to advanced Pilates students. And they offer online registration, payment, and sign-ups, allowing one to finalize a weeklong, class schedule before arriving in Palm Springs or, in my case, to book each class the night before. read more

There's lots of things to do while visiting/living in Palm Springs...but Pilates Plus (especially with Ron!) should always be on the list. The studio is immaculate, well organized and well run. For first timers (or those new to PS), it's a completely welcoming environment from the moment you walk in the door. If you are like me, you may be initially intimidated by the reformers and the other tools of the trade. But not to worry. The instructors walk you through everything step by step and make sure everyone gets the attention they need. We took a "Sculpt" class this last Saturday and had a great time. It's amazing how simple, controlled movement can be 10 times as beneficial as pushing the limits with heavy weights at the gym. And it's way more fun! I can't say enough great things about Ron. I have been coming to Palm Springs for the winter months for a few years now, but hadn't searched out the Pilates studios. I finally did this year, and discovered Pilates Plus to be the most accommodating. Plenty of class times and Stephen and Ron are very attentive to form. There is nice variety of classes and I am discovering the advantages of the wunda chair! I signed up for the new member special to give me the ability to sample everything. I've been coming here for six months and I can't think of a better thing I could have done for my physical health. Prior, my exercise routines had come to a halt because of a car accident a year before joining. After all kinds of therapies, chiropractic work and message therapy, taking these classes were the thing that got me feeling better faster. I saw my chiropractor three months in and asked if I should continue to see him. He said, no need as long as I was taking the Pilates. He was surprised to see how well my neck and shoulders were doing. The strength and toning my body is going through is phenominal, and equally important my posture and balance has improved dramatically. All of the teachers bring their own personalities and uniqueness to the table and are all professional and expertly trained. I never, ever feel "wrong" about the way I do things there. A tweak in a position here and there from the instructor is not uncommon which makes me feel like I have a private instructor. I just booked an entire months worth of classes through the holidays and am so juiced that they're all in place. Oh, they have spinning too if you need some aerobics. I live in Santa Monica, so am not a regular at Pilates Plus-Palm Springs. I wish I was!! I took a group pilates class with Skipp and a Form and Stretch class with Ron; they were two of the best classes I've ever been in (and I'm a veteran of many West LA exercise classes, pilates, bar method, etc.). The instructors have a very strong rapport with their regular clientele; however, they were equally encouraging and supportive of visitors. The classes were challenging, but you really felt that you could go at your own pace. I can't say enough good things about Pilates Plus-Palm Springs. I just wish they were in Santa Monica! read more

I've been a student at Pilates Plus for about a year and half. I take 4 to 5 classes a week and regret when I have to miss class due to my heavy travel schedule for work in the fall. Some of the things I love about this studio are the trainer's dedication, enthusiasm, professionalism, knowledge and best of the entire fun attitude they bring with them everyday. Each trainer brings something different and new to each class every day so you don't feel like you're doing the same thing week after week. I have seen such a dramatic change in my body! The best thing is my flexibility. I am doing stretches that I haven't done since my days as a professional dancer more than 10 years ago. The location is great; as a matter of fact their entire complex just went thru an amazing renovation. The studio is always clean and the equipment is state of the art. I travel to Palm Springs frequently, and since my 24 hour gym closed down in Cat City, I was looking for a place to get a workout in. A desert friend introduced me to the studio a few years ago. At first, I was skeptical on whether I'd get a good workout in (in such a short time). I had heard about Pilates (as many celebrities do it to keep in shape), and said, "What do I have to lose by trying it"? Pilates Palm Springs had a wonderful introductory price, so I signed up. I was thinking Pilates was going to be similar to Yoga, but it wasn't at all. Also, this is not mat pilates. We work on a "bed" called a reformer that allows your body to stretch, tone, & elongate. I am actually sweating when I am done with my workout!!! Years later, I'm still hooked. The 50 minute workout goes by quickly and while I do an intense level class now, I find it super enjoyable. Afterwards, I always feel as though I gave my body a gift! I feel terrific and I stand taller & straighter!!! I have to give a special shout out to Ron. He is an amazing teacher!!! If you are just starting here, I'd try to get a class with him, as he will spend the time with you to make sure you are keeping proper form and breathing correctly. I also appreciate how he explains every excercise and tells you its' benefit. Oh....One last thing: I am now at the advanced level, but beginners can choose do a Form & Stretch classes or Intermediate level classes. There are also Wunda Chair classes that have been recently introduced, and now Spinning classes too! Something for everyone! Enjoy! read more

From the moment I walked into the studio I felt welcomed by Ron (the instructor) as well as the other people taking the class. Ron is the epitome of what a teacher should be. This is a great Pilates Studio. I dropped in for two classes in Feb 2017 when we were visiting for 2 weeks -- drop in is no problem -- just register on the website. It was just great to do some Pilates after travelling; the instructors were attentive, alert to student individual issues, tailored the exercises to meet specific needs and generally made the whole session very, very agreeable. Can't wait until next year when we spend a month in SP. I will definitely be going back to Pilates Plus. read more

I love my workouts at Pilates Plus! I may be one of the older clients at 68 but I feel stronger than I would have ever believed. Great supportive atmosphere with real challenges. I have NEVER been really fit and had not found a program I could stick with but now I am addicted. I go to 5 or 6 classes weekly. As a great bonus, with no dietary change, my cholesterol has dropped 35 points. What's not to love?! read more
