As soon as I walked in, I could sense attitude coming from the owner Johnny, especially after asking about the Yelp promo WHICH IS LISTED HERE ON HIS YELP PAGE. He told me to come back for one of the afternoon classes, then immediately took it back and told me that the class was cancelled and to come for a different class that would start in 15 minutes. I already felt the negativity in his voice and was hesitant but decided to let it go and give it a try. The pilates class itself was not bad and that is the only reason I am even giving it a star at all. But still, Johnny was being very cold toward me and was only acting that way toward me, and not to the other attendees. There was even another person in the class who was there for the first time, yet Johnny was nice and helpful to him but not treating me with that same kindness. Immediately after the class, Johnny loudly says to me in front of the everyone, "How are you going to pay me?". I reminded him of the Yelp promo we had discussed earlier and he snarkily said "OK so do that then." Then while collecting payment from the other first timer, he sarcastically said "I love you. This is so nice" to the man, while holding up his credit card. I knew that was directed toward me because he was upset that I wanted to use the free session coupon. I felt so disrespected that I just ended up walking away after that. I have NEVER experienced such disrespect at any Pilates studio I had been to before, and I've gone to many. I was being very respectful and nice, even though I was being treated the exact opposite. He shouldn't be including a free session promo on his Yelp page if he doesn't want people to ask about it. I would think twice before coming here, especially if you are just visiting. Places like this will never earn my business again and I will make sure to warn all of my friends and family visiting Palm Springs. I also noticed later that all of his Yelp reviews are from years ago and that should have already been a red flag to me.

I have been working out here at The Pilates Path Studio for almost 7 years. When I first started Pilates in Los Angeles 9 years ago, I had the opportunity to work with several instructors in four studios. I found a few instructors who served no better purpose than to tell me what to do and count off the repetitions for me. I found another who injured me each time I worked out with her. Then about a year before I left L.A., I found my wonderful instructor and hated to leave her. I was very concerned about finding someone here in the Coachella Valley who was just as talented. I wanted to find someone who gave me a workout that would challenge me without injuring me. I had no luck with the first instructor I tried in Cathedral City, so driving by the Pilates Path Studio, I called them and spoke with Shary. I told her what I was looking for in an instructor. All it took was a couple of lessons before I realized that I struck gold. I find it incredible that as I grow older, I grow more well defined muscles. Different muscles that weren't there even two years ago have popped up. My abs are so strong, it's amazing to me. I was on a flight recently waiting for the restroom and the flight attendant asked me if I did Pilates. "Was it my posture?", I asked. She said she could "just tell". I am now working out with Josie because Shary has retired and only works a few months per year. Josie is just as talented as Shary. She gets me to think about so many things as I do the movements, that if I arrive uptight, all is forgotten within 10 minutes. I walk out of there taller, stronger, more flexible and content. I am writing this to help the snowbirds and transplants who love their Pilates instructors. You can have faith that the instructors don't go through the motions with you here. They work hard in their coaching, and you will reap the benefits. Any locals who want to give Pilates a try, start here. I live in uptown Palm Springs and pass by a lot of studios to come here because in my opinion, these people completely understand what it takes to help you reach your fitness goals through Pilates.

I really enjoyed Cheri's Saturday Vinyasa Flow class. Her instructions were clear and it's evident that she really knows her yoga. Yoga has changed a lot from the way it was originally taught and there are so many variations (yoga with your baby, yoga with your dog, yoga just for guys, etc.). These hybrid classes are fine and I know a lot of people enjoy them. I've tried many schools and styles, but for me (this is just my personal opin; no disrespect to any new style or tradition) there are certain elements I look for in a yoga class. You can have a beautiful studio, lots of accessories, etc. but what it comes down to is trained, experienced teachers with an understanding of how yoga works and how it can be adapted for the individual practitioner. Cheri displayed a thorough knowledge of yoga throughout the practice. She guided the class smoothly using demonstrations, humor and patience. Her adjustments were spot-on. One thing in particular that helped me was the way she explained getting into Urdhva Prasarita Eka Padasana (standing splits). I always thought it was because I wasn't strong enough to lift my leg when really, it was how I was getting INTO the thing that was the problem. It's essential to keep the hips square. I did it just as Cheri demonstrated and was shocked at how high my leg went up. The studio is clean and cool, with lots of sunlight, fresh air and smiles. Everyone was friendly and polite. No one tried to sell me anything, something I've experienced at other studios. (Yes, I understand studio's struggle to pay bills like everyone else but please don't start off with your extra-class-special-dvd-monogrammed-water-bottle-mala sales pitch before I've even opened my mat!) I wasn't feeling well that day but I left with lots of energy and a renewed practice. Thank you Cheri for a beautiful class. (Did I mention the chakra clearing in savasana? Sweet.) This well established studio in a new and larger beautiful space is by far the best yoga one can experience, in addition to offering pilates mat and private classes. There are also spa and nutritional services available. The owner of this studio is exceedingly well versed in anatomy and functionality of the musculature which is important to me as I am a physician. Kay specializes in people with medial issues from joint replacements to arthritis. Don't be fooled however as even the most seasoned student will be challenged in her classes! read more

Go With The Flow is hands down my Go-To yoga studio when I visit the Coachella Valley once or twice a year. It's primary focus is on Vinyasa and flow. It's a comfortable and inviting space and centrally located near the mall. The instructors are great and really know their stuff. You WILL come away feeling improved in your mind, body, and soul. Found out about this new studio through the yoga grapevine (or should I say rope wall?) and headed out to the Coachella Valley to check it out. My husband and I felt instantly calm as we walked into the warm and spacious practice room, taking note of all the nice, new props, the full-length rope wall, and the cushy floors (cork, not hardwood!). Not knowing what to expect from a class titled ''Exploration of the Rope Wall,' led by two up-and-coming Iyengar instructors--Holly Hughins and Mary DeVore--we were taught ten or so variations of the traditional poses, using the wall and ropes to get even deeper into the postures. This was a free public class, but looking at the price list it looks like the drop-in and monthly rates are totally reasonable, especially for instruction from respected Iyengar and Ashtanga practitioners. There's plenty of parking in the shopping center behind Hwy 111 and they have a nice little patio in the back. Next time we trek east for some R&R we're totally making a pit stop here for our yoga fix. Can't wait till they get their website up and running and post some more workshops!

He even allowed her to play music for an upcoming performance so she could rehearse. The other people at the Open Gym were very supportive-it feels like a great community. If we are ever back in the area and looking for gym time, we won't look anywhere else. Highly recommend!

We got to register on site for the class with the owner, Manuel. Parents are able to observe the instruction in a great room with fabrics and silks and mirrors for the class. The very enthusiastic instructor was so warm and encouraging to the children. An hour of instruction with fun music brought the students to a level that they could demonstrate new skills of grasping the fabric, anchoring themselves into basic and then more intermediate positions, all the while getting individual redirection and praise from the instructor. They performed their new abilities and received applause from the gallery. Ruby, one of the family and an instructor, explained that there are adult clients who visit to have restorative stretching and exercise to soothe them after injuries. The attached photos indicate their services. They have a second branch in Palm Springs on Lawrence Crossley, south of the airport and Ramon Road. The prices seem reasonable. We will take our granddaughter again this week. $35. for an hour's instruction. It was an amazingly fun time! We booked a private class on a Sunday morning (the weekend Hurricane Hilary was in town). We appreciate the staff so much because of how accommodating they were and we were able to customize our class time a bit. We had the entire studio to ourselves and Yolanda was our instructor. Both she and the man who greeted us were so nice! Yolanda had the best customer service. She really catered to us and took her time with us. They both went above and beyond to make us feel special! They even took us to the other room to take pictures and try out moves on the spinning aerial silks. A quality experience! Yolanda started us up with a cardio warm-up that was SO GOOD. We were all sweating and our heart rates were up. We used hula hoops and yoga blocks and it was so much fun. She kicked out booties! Then she taught us some moves on the non-spinning aerial silks.
