I'm only what, 2 months in with this new little gym. It is a far cry from the massive, corporate…read moreLifeTime Fitness South that I had spent the last 18 month at. I was really looking for more personal, nutrition and data driven results. It's great that your trainer is telling you that you look great and strong, but what do the numbers say? The InBody machine they had there, is here as well. Curious why my trainer at LT never regularly used it in my regime. We met with the owner Chris and he offered us a complimentary workout with one of the trainers to get a feel for the place. That wasn't necessary really. We somewhat knew what we looking for and Evolve seem to have all the stuff we really needed, without the pretentiousness. My treadmill was there, they have heavy stuff to pick up and throw around. Machines for all kinds of stuff. A massive half tire thing, that actually looks dangerous to me. :) Chris's interview with us was personal and direct. I liked that as well. He took his time, listened and asked for our availability and when to start the first complimentary session and we discussed the packages available. This was a wow moment. A 6 month commitment meant that our PT hour was $79.99, no monthly gym fee and I could come and go as I please. Jaw drop. We were paying $150 an hour, plus a monthly gym fee 3x's a week. Although to be fair, I had recently moved to a Medicare Membership at LT so no gym fee, but restricted hours. Ok, interest was peaked. I went to my first session with Celeste. We spent the entire hour working on my balance and stretching. I was like, ok no weights? I regretted that thought when I got home a few hours later when my muscles had some aching, a signal that something good was happening that worked. Her style was to get me in touch with my core and she was surprised, as was I, why my past trainer experience didn't touch on that. Using my own stomach kettle bell or medicine ball as "The Weight" makes sense. I have used very little physical weight these past two months. I am doing a lot of Yoga it seems when I train with her. Mandatory stretching before working out, in addition to me getting on the treadmill before we start. The Yoga is teaching me to be in touch with my body and muscles, I like that as well. Celeste may be younger, but she has knowledge and experience which is what matters to me. She is now taking a keen interest in our diet. We are looking at recipes and dietary concerns. She cautioned me on my style, which was 1670 cals a day and reminded me that slow and easy wins this race. Again, good logic. Most important she has a laugh with me while I clumsy work my way through the gym like a drunken Shrek at a rave. Nice reassuring smile and very quiet speaking so I have to pay attention more. Communication. The owner is there often and when he sees me, he always checks in with me and asks how I am doing. I get reminders on the gyms personal app and text's from Celeste checking in on me. A very important app is the InBody app. I can already see the improvement in my body, which is a total motivator. Such a simple thing and a great, honest feedback tool. It feels good to support a local business and not a corporate conglomerate as well. Let's keep on keeping on!

Best group of trainers I've ever come across. The owner -Chris Protein, (yes, that's his real…read morename!) is very good at what he does! The massage therapist is also a trainer and this means you can go and sweat for two hours and then get a sports massage afterwards. There's a boxing bag down there that you can't help from not hitting it, just don't stand too close or the bag will snap you pretty good on the nose. They also have an onsite sports PT as well. Great equipment, professional, and you'll WANT to work out there!

Over the past few months, Carmen's work with me has significantly improved how I feel throughout the day. With her training, I've discovered entire groups of muscles I never even knew I had. Mainly in my back. Building them up has made keeping decent posture easier throughout the day. That's my primary goal and it's clearly happening. I hold myself differently and feel more comfortable, especially at my shoulders and lower back. My lower back pain is gone. I sleep better and feel more confident walking around. Carmen has a real intuition for the body's movement, reminding me of my ballerina sister. Carmen can tell just by watching when something is off. She's also great to be around; whether it's the exercise, the company, or both, I'm always more cheerful leaving a workout. The app plus video also enables me to continue sessions while traveling. Anyone who can have her guidance is very fortunate.

I've been practicing Pilates for over 4 years when I joined Club Pilates. I had a very…read moreuncomfortable and unprofessional experience that left me questioning whether this studio values member privacy. When pregnant, as required, I signed the studio's pregnancy waiver and had a walk-through with an instructor on how to properly modify movements. I've been following those modifications safely and consistently. During a class, I quietly adjusted certain exercises to pregnancy-safe variations. Instead of pulling me aside or checking in privately, the instructor stopped class and asked me -- in front of the entire room -- why I was doing something different. She then directly asked me if I was pregnant, putting me on the spot to disclose something very personal that I had not chosen to share publicly yet. This was extremely uncomfortable and unnecessary. The studio already had my waiver on file, and I had been trained by another instructor on modifications. Pregnancy is a private matter, and calling it out to a room full of strangers is unprofessional and disrespectful. I want to emphasize that I take responsibility for my own safety and modifications -- and I appreciate instructors who are attentive. But there is a right way to handle member privacy, and this was absolutely the wrong way. If you're considering Club Pilates and value discretion, be aware that your personal health information may not be treated with the sensitivity you'd expect.
