Despite having already paid for a class, I was abruptly asked to leave. I was told I should seek a "Hispanic Pilates class" instead, implying I didn't belong there due to perceived race or ethnicity. This comment was not only unprofessional, but also deeply troubling. Regardless of anyone's cultural background, fitness spaces should be inclusive, welcoming, and respectful. It's especially disheartening that such outdated, discriminatory attitudes are still present today. What should have been a positive, health-centered experience quickly turned into one that left me questioning the values upheld by this establishment. I believe in treating others with dignity and fairness, and I hope this review encourages B Pilates to reflect on how they engage with and treat all clients--especially when it comes to cultural sensitivity and inclusivity.

As with each barre3 location i have personally experienced for myself, the instructors at this location are warm, welcoming, exceptional & challenging. barre3 is a beautiful, "full-body balanced workout" that boils down to a unique blend of yoga, pilates, & ballet (barre) work. i've tried alllll the boutique fitness classes & studios, genres, methods/styles etc., you name it...and barre3 is the most fulfilling, enjoyable, & challenging workout experience i've had! Don't get it twisted - each barre3 class i've ever taken has been extremely intense & difficult, but the physical, mental, & emotional health improvements & peaks are well worth it! Barre3's website describes it best, "Our innovative approach combines low-impact isometric moves, large-range cardio bursts, and mind-centering breathwork." - and for each of those details, i'm in love! the cherry on top of the barre3 sundae is that their co-founder/CEO, Sadie Lincoln, is an absolute role model, leader queen! (ProTip: she also teaches & has some of their most-killer recorded classes in their online inventory!) In addition to studio classes, they offer at-home recorded & live workouts. Their in-store merchandise is consistently a cute & comfortable selection that they rotate seasonally - they cover the typical workout leggings, tanks, tops, barre socks, etc. And, you get a 10% discount off of their retail merchandise if you have a membership with them. Price point is on par with other higher-end, boutique-style fitness studios in Austin, & more affordable if you have a monthly employee benefit for expensing & getting partial/full reimbursement for gym membership. Peach House is a boutique Pilates studio that offers mat & reformer Pilates, plus additional services like cold plunge and sauna onsite! The not so good- memberships go up to $499 a month which is expensive! Upon arrival to the event I felt very unwelcome. I did however get to experience the sauna for about 15 minutes and enjoyed it! The sauna was overcrowded with people and no one was monitoring it. The event was not well planned out overall and promised "HalfDays swag" to RSVPs and didn't deliver. It would have been nice for someone to give an official tour of Peach House but there was a reformer class going on at the same time as the event which was super confusing.

I took the 8:30am Pure Sculpt Mega reformer class with Madeline! The machine was easy to navigate…read morewith some explanation but if it's your first time I recommended speaking up before class to get a full run down of how to use the machine, as the class doesn't really stop for anyone! Although movements are slow and controlled the switching of positions is FAST! This class is Lagree which is similar to Pilates however I found it more intense and gives you that "snatched" look. A lot of focus on core, lower abs and thighs! The studio is small and clean with a bathroom, storage cubes and water fountain. There's a parking garage in the back/attached to the building which is nice. Parking is free for 3 hours.

I love…read morethe simple style with no locker rooms/changing rooms to make the workout a quick in and out. The mega reformer takes a bit to get use two but it works! Each class is 45 minutes long and goes by quickly. Both classes had different instructors with different moves focused on concentrating your muscles and moving slowly. I was shaking the entire time. Oddly I wasn't really sore the next day. There are many class options available too, so if you miss one, odds are the next one starts in 15 minutes. Overall, with many locations, Pure Pilates is worth trying!

Surprisingly there's a lot of locker space-love that! I took one of their signature We Flow Hard 60 minute classes! It was nicely blended with Bad bunny and candlelight! The instructor, Raine was really sweet and helpful! She corrected posture and provided different levels to challenge us. I appreciated the little sprinkle of ab work in the mix and could have done with more cardio! The room was really dark and lit only by candles but I like a moody setting so it works for me! All of the classes are heated to about 80-90 degrees so you really feel it and after class you're handed an ice cold face towel. When you check in there's complimentary hair ties, face wipes, mints at the front desk to use before or after class which is such a thoughtful touch! The best part is there's plenty of parking!

Their signature flows are set up in 3 parts: First the teacher takes the class through a sequence of poses slowly. Each pose is cued in detail and held for a few breaths to build muscle memory. For the 2nd part, the teacher cues those same poses but matches one breath to one movement (more fluid). Then for the final part, the teacher turns the music up and sets the class free to flow through the same sequence over and over on their own. I really enjoyed the sequences that I was guided through, and the studio itself had a great vibe. Everything was clean, everyone was nice, and I'm excited to come back and try some of their other classes!

STRONG PILATES IS ONE OF THE BEST! This is probably one of my new favorite Pilates studios!! Jai,…read morethe instructor, was phenomenal down to the music selection--Afro beats! The pace of the class was perfect and this is the only studio that I've been to where an actual demo of the machine was provided. They also have tv screens with the moves showing what's coming up next so you don't feel lost or awkward as a first timer. I actually left sweating and feeling energized. After class each person was provided with a cold strong towel to cool down. The cool thing that sets Strong apart is that their "rowformer" has a bike attach and erg/rowing machine. The bathrooms also include a shower area and they have a separate area for cool down stretching as well! These were such nice touches! There's a parking garage attached so no stress to be had there! They provide parking validation! Right now they have a sale of 15 days (unlimited classes) for $69 which is a great deal!

She set the tone for the positive experience I would receive. Because Strong Pilates is a little different from regular Reformer Pilates, it takes a while to get used to the vocabulary and equipment logistics and usage. I like the fact that Strong Pilates combines either a bike or rower (known as the "erg side) to the workout. The intervals on the erg side are challenging, either based on a certain calorie burn or number of meters. There are usually about 3 blocks of bike or rower: Once the first erg side workout is completed with several intervals of intense work followed by short rests, the session progresses to the strength side, utilizing the carriage and springs and sometimes free weights. This part is more like traditional reformer Pilates, but with a few differences. After attaching the carriage straps to your feet or hands, several challenging strength exercises follow. Sometimes you are standing up or planking, while pulling the carriage. The spring tension is adjustable to how strong you are feeling. I felt a little unsteady during some of the planking positions, as the carriage tended to move. But this can be corrected by adding more spring tension. I normally do lots of weight lifting/strength workouts, but Strong Pilates takes it to a new level! I definitely felt very strong (and tired) after each workout! The cold scented towels provided at the end are so refreshing...a perfect way to end the session!

Urban Lagree is a great studio if you're looking for a solid, effective workout. I really like…read moreLagree in general because it's challenging but low-impact, and this studio makes the experience even better. Everyone there is super nice and welcoming. They have a small parking lot in the back, which is really convenient. There are lockers available, but everyone is pretty safe and relaxed, so it's fine to keep your things near your reformer. If you haven't tried Lagree before, I'd definitely recommend giving it a shot, it's such a great workout. And as a bonus, there's a local taco spot nearby that's perfect for grabbing a bite after class!

Urban Lagree…read moreclasses are instructed on a Megaformer, loaded with 8 springs to add tension for light and heavy exercises. When I arrived, there was parking available in the back. The check in process was easy through an iPad in the front of the studio. I received a warm welcome to class and since it was my first time to attend I received a detailed introduction to the Pilates Megaformer machine and all the mechanics. The Megaformer was more elaborate and had more functionality than the wooden reformers that I had used in the past. Spots were not preassigned, so I was able to sit next to my friend. The class was 45 minutes long and designed to tone your body. Urban Lagree is a high-intensity, low impact strength training workout. The focus was on muscular endurance which will improve your overall strength and core stability. There were resistance movement that focused on balance and targeted muscles that I normally don't hit in my HIIT workouts. Some movements I could feel the burn and was really getting a targeted focus on the smaller muscles in my body. After the workout I felt empowered and rejuvenated. Even though I was relatively new to Pilates, the instructor's instructions were easy to follow and she provided constructive feedback when needed. Really enjoyed my experience at Urban Lagree!
