Cornish Ice Cream is a treat on its own, but throw in some history and you definitely have a win-win experience. Just a block from the Mayflower Steps in the Barbican, you can enjoy 16 flavors of ice cream from Langage Farm.
The plaque with the names of the Mayflower's passengers is displayed on the side of the building for some good reading while you enjoy your treat. It lists the passengers' occupation and hometown, but there are gaps, especially where women are concerned. The notes about the children were particularly interesting. Several children were traveling with other families and the plaque read, "a boy that was put to him" next to the head of household.
