Pilgrim's is my all time favorite market for healthy organic foods. I especially like the fish. Their produce is always fresh, the vitamin/ supplement section has just about everything you'll ever need in it. It's a great place to shop. Parking isn't very easy though. Their meats are always horrible. I tried their new rotisserie chicken which says 4.99 just like Costco but in tiny lettering says "per pound." Well that's okay cuz it's organic right? $15 of the driest chicken i've ever had. I've never had rotisserie ever be so dry. My husband tried their steaks several times and they are gritty and just horrid. It's not worth trying to be healthier when I'm choking down my chicken on a bed of cabbage, rice, and sesame oil. How on earth they screw up meat is Grade H meat military cook level foolery. Salad is good when the lettuce isn't wilting. Don't come here for deals. Make sure the brands sold in their store aren't sold elsewhere that you can get for far cheaper. This is not a health food store. It has a pseudoscience pill store attached to it with some health products that are legit in it. Keep that in mind. It is also a store for local, in house grown foods. Their vegetable section is always good. Their fruits are meh. Why buy organic bananas when they have peel armor? Cashiers always nice. They got rid of the snobby ones that looked down on people who bought "unhealthy" products (BEING SOLD IN THE STORE THEY WORKED AT) so there is always a positive vibe amongst employees. The choke point in the bakery is a nuisance and I wish they would change that space so it's not congested and filled with someone who leaves their cart in the center while they inspect desserts and take up whole "aisle." Bakery is limited and doesn't make cakey cakes. They make fudgy cakes or cream pies. I've been going here since I was a teenager. I like the store especially for the local pasture raised eggs and lamb at a fair price. However, their rewards are a joke! I go for a few items after finishing my regular shopping at Winco as they're too expensive. Unfortunately they get the eggs I like on Tuesday and since I have to drive over an hour to get to CDA I can't always get there on Tuesday or Wednesday and then the eggs are gone. We always spend 10 days in Coeur d'Alene to relax and hang out, but this time, we discovered something new--Pilgrim Market. I was genuinely surprised by the variety here; how is this place so amazing? We ended up coming here every day for their fresh baked goods--just wow! The kids couldn't get enough of the pretzels and blueberry scones, and the adults absolutely loved the bread. Another highlight was their wine, cider, and beer selections. The lady stocking the beer helped me pick out some great options, and I was thrilled with every single one. They also have an incredible selection of cheeses and meats. I may have spent a little too much money here, but honestly, it was worth every penny because everything they offer is top-notch. Well, this is a update from two years of shopping. A week ago I brought my groceries to the check out. I punched in my number and asked how much I could use from my customer account (customer can use it in July). The cashier says, sorry you don't have any accrued points. I asked why because I've shopped here. The cashier said the owner had increased the amount that must be spent. She said it's $250 a month. I gasped....thought I don't spend $250 average anywhere. Hmmm.... So driving home, I thought we'll, from now on I'll just continue purchasing our favorite 1/2 and 1/2 and once awhile organic chicken legs to barbecue. I can purchase everything at a lower price in town and from nearby ranches we buy meat from. Now.....regarding the wine department, 5 stars and really helpful two women employees who work that. Meat department employees 5 stars. Deli employees ALWAYS 5 stars. Great food. Overall great employees EXCEPT.....the cashiers of past few months. Many of the cashiers talk so loud to each other and customers that you can hear them at least 30'. The topics/subjects are not all what we care to hear. Cashiers.....if you don't care for the customers, what we look like, veteran or maybe a tourist (which brings in the revenue), then shhhhhh. Here's the breakdown of how much you must spend per month in a year to receive a percentage; 2% discount gift card, at $250 minimum per month which is 3k a year. 3% discount gift card, at $450 minimum per month which is $5,400 a year. OR........ 4% discount gift card, at $700 minimum per month which is $7,000 a year. The card would be at least $280 for spending $700 each month. If you ever need a good chuckle, go look at the negative reviews. Just saying. Anywho I LOVE Pilgrims. I shop here every week if not more for little things. I used to get lunch here all the time because it was so good and so reasonably priced. HOWEVER. The decision to remove the grill (although probably just a *business* decision) was a horrible one. Everyone knows restaurants mostly break even unless they up charge (and offer lots of alcoholic drinks), and after discussing it with many others, we all agreed we would pay more for the food they were making on the grill. It is a little more pricey but, you're getting locally grown/made products from small businesses/ people that take absolute pride and care in their products and your health. My Hubby did the research, and found the only place in this city that we know of who make a family fave: ham and cheese croissants. So we had to get a bunch, and treat folks at home who did not make the trip this time to Idaho. They were delicious, but I will say they were $4.50 each which is what a fancy bakery would charge. Pilgrim's is a foo-foo grocery place for people who like to spend extra and feel good about themselves, which is fine for them I guess. Came to this local health food store looking for just two things ... local cheese to accompany some delicious Washington apples and Good Belly juice, my go-to probiotic drink. Reminiscent of Honolulu's "Down to Earth," Pilgrim's Market has aisles of healthy choices including their own baked breads, pastries and cookies. The cheese selection included a Gouda made right in Idaho so we had to get it. I was distracted by the large bin of marked down items, and then by the chocolate selection that included bear poop (well, actually chocolate toffee nuts)! Prices were comparable to Whole Foods, and with local tax, wasn't breaking the bank. Lots of parking and friendly cashiers, I would go back! read more

I ordered a ham & cheese with mayo. When my order came out after 10 minutes, I thought they were joking. They used bread that was smaller than what you get from a normal loaf of bread. They put on 1 slice of ham, 1 slice of cheese & a slice of tomato (see pic).....$7.49 + tax please. Seriously? I know they say they use Boars Head but you can go to Fred Meyers and get a board head sandwich that is double the size for around the same price. I told the guy who served me is this serious.... his response to me was "Thats what it is, bro".... now I am old enough to be this guy's father... don't appreciate being called "bro". I wasn't here for the organic quinoa or natural detergents, so this review will be written accordingly. Came here on a road trip to look for craft beers that I couldn't find back home in WA. I wasn't disappointed. About 250 different beers from all over the Northwest, including from breweries in ID/MT/WY which are not carried in central Washington. I picked up some beers from Radio Brewing in Kellogg, Sawtooth Brewery in Hailey, Flathead Lake Brewing in Bigfork MT, and a couple of McCall's. They also carried some beers from Bombastic, Selkirk Abbey, Odell in Colorado, Heretic Brewing (near Sacramento), and Evil Twin near NYC, none of which are carried where I live. Friendly staff in the beer department. I wish I would have stopped at Smoke & Suds as well, as apparently, their selection is also top-notch, but I didn't have enough time. Maybe this summer? And oh, I forgot...you can mix & match your own 6-packs! Take whichever beers you want and make a 6-pack, and you get a 10% discount. My beer store back home won't allow you to do this. Huckleberry's in Spokane also does, but alas I didn't have time to visit that store either. read more

It's dangerous that I live within walking distance of this place because it's just too easy to fill up my cart with new items to try! Love all it has to offer and they seem to be continuously updating and trialing new products. They have a great hot bar with a rotating menu and soups, as well as lots of items to grab and go for meals. I've put in requests for a few items and they've brought them in.. not to mention they grow greens and other produce in their garden behind the store. Love love love. read more

Unfortunate because the produce and selection is great, but half the folks shopping are not wearing masks, nor are most of the employees. If the employees won't wear masks, I get why the customers wouldn't either. And I get the whole freedom of choice argument, but I'd also like to choose to not die because an asymptomatic person decided to not wear a mask to their grocery shopping outing at Pilgrim's today. We were pilgrims to Pilgrim's Natural Foods during our first visit to CDA last week and we liked what we discovered in the "new land"! For us, good groceries and specialty markets are destination stops when we're on vacation and so it was with Pilgrims. We were impressed with the breadth of grocery products and specialty goods, the deli take out offerings, the number of food supplements and vitamins available, great selection of good coffee (including local roaster Doma) and the friendly staff. We were a little disappointed in the limited size of the produce section. But we suppose to stock a lot of produce, Pilgrims needs people need to shop there to buy their produce...if we lived in CDA we'd help out with that cause! :-) We also noted that the vendor who sells fresh fish at the Wednesday downtown Farmers Market had his rig set up in the Pilgrim's parking lot on the day we visited. Very cool of them since they also have their own butcher / fish market in the store. My wife and I love this little grocery store in CDA. For many reasons, like the awesome healthy and organic selections, unique drinks and great vitamins and minerals. Especially RAW MILK! We also love they allow their employees and customers the FREEDOM to choose whether they want to wear a mask or not. Unlike other stores where they say it's required even though you're not sick. I'm 74. I've been eating 'natural foods' since 1975 and cut my teeth on Paul Bragg, the toxic-less purification diet and fasting. I've been in organic and natural foods stores all over the west coast and this store is the best I've ever seen bar none. Joe's wife is an RN and it shows in the supplement department which is huge. But more than the size of the facility and the number of types of provisions they supply well is the fact that as you peel the onion, you will find out that the staff is an endless source of informed learning. Just ask someone about something. They teach me every time I go in. Now I have cancer and I'm even more urgently reliant on knowledgeable support for the metabolic therapy in which I'm engaged. With my life on the line, Pilgrim continues to not disappoint. You just can't do better. If you want a bakery, why not go to a bakery with sugar and refined flour. Weak points are not the basis for judgment here. When have you ever heard of a grocery store that has it's own greenhouse out back? providing you with the freshest possible organic produce? Sold my home in Spokane a few years ago and moved closer to grandkids but my heart has always been in CDA Back here on business for a few weeks and had to go to the most healthy, organized and greatest staffed market... PILGRIMS Paige helped me find some awesome Unpasteurized Cheese.. then she escorted me to Unpasteurized Goats milk.. love how she knows the local products.. then she walked to the fine wine section and we talked about wines. She shared a red blend wine she had for dinner and loved it.. so we got that one!! Sarah educated my friend on Growlers and how many ounces of beer it holds and Pilgrim's array of beer. Thank you Sarah! Eli in the meat department educated me on grain free Nongmo soy/corn free, ground beef (Pilgrim's staple) and ground lamb which I also bought. We were passing through town on our road trip and needed to stock up on goods. We've been shoppers at Whole F**ds for a long time and also Natural Gr*cer but Pilgrim takes the cake! I found incredible products at super reasonable prices. A large selection of organic produce, especially since it's still not summer and spring is late to arrive. Their grass fed meat selection? Outta this world! Bone marrow, organ meats, gorgeous cuts of steak, Yak (?!), Bison...seriously well stocked. The dairy case had something to fit every niche dietary need (helloooooo pastured raised!). Their personal goods and supplements department is super - loved finding my normal products away from home.
