Jeff Yarger - Accurate Home Inspections

I also had the unfortunate experience of working with Jeffrey Yarger. He made the (inaccurate)…read moreclaim last Spring that he was the only local qualified person to work on my sprinkler system's 'Backflow' system. I was in a time crunch, hired him, and paid him in full. Less than a year later I am having the identical problem and he will not even come take a look. He says he is too busy to come take a look this week then leaving on a two week vacation. His defense is that he feels it took too long for me to pay him, approx 60 days, instead of the regular 30, due to a screw up with either my bill pay system or our less than perfect local mail system. Needless to say, I would not recommend him and hoping not to have to pay a second time for the same work to be done.

The home inspection should be the buyer's safe guard, which is why buyers should avoid Jeff Yarger…read moreand Accurate Home Inspections. The inspection he does is quick and superficial which left us with the painful experience of discovering many of the problems once we moved in. For many of you vacation home buyers, be aware Yarger includes a time limit in his inspection and will claim that everything was fine when he was there. Apparently things magically break in Vail when they are not used. For example, 30% of the electric heater units were malfunctioning or not functioning at all. They must have spontaneously broken between the summer and winter when we first occupied the property. Probably from all the non-use in an empty condo. Another softball for a competent inspector, none of the electrical outlets in the bathrooms were grounded. Come on that's pretty easy to check for. His response once we contacted him: it's too late and I suggested you get a licensed electrician to make an inspection. Ok, so why hire him then? On the flip side he reported that the jacuzzi tub was broken. Turns out he didn't put water in the tub. Of course the jets didn't work. Duh.... End of story, he doesn't do a thorough job, doesn't stand behind his work, and will likely leave you on the hook for lots of basic repairs that should have been identified. Best to avoid him.
