Barrett Financial Group - Meet our sales management team!

He helped me get prequalified very quickly and walked me through each step since it was my first time applying for a mortgage. Vance was able to find me a mortgage with interest rate of 3.0% which is much better than I was expecting. Once I had found a home, Vance also kept me informed about what was happening with the finances at each step of the home buying process and would call to walk me through the paperwork with each new step in the process. He definitely made the home buying process much easier and I would recommend him to anyone looking to finance a home!

Extremely disappointing experience with Barrett Financial. I would not recommend them. I would give…read morezero stars if I could. The communication throughout our loan process was terrible. We were repeatedly sent random forms to e-sign without anyone calling or adequately explaining what they were, why they were needed, or what had changed from version to version. What was especially concerning happened right before closing. Approximately 48 hours before our scheduled in-person closing, we had already e-signed the final closing documents that clearly outlined the costs associated with the transaction and the exact amount of cash we needed to bring to closing. Then, when we arrived for closing, we were presented with changed financial documents and an additional $1,000 added to our cash-to-close amount. When we contacted Barrett Financial to ask why the numbers and documents had changed, no one could give us a clear explanation. Nobody could adequately explain what changed, why it changed, or why we were suddenly responsible for an additional $1,000. That is completely unacceptable when you're dealing with someone's mortgage and hundreds of thousands of dollars. We should not have had to discover a $1,000 increase in our closing costs at the last minute, especially after already signing documents 48 hours earlier that clearly stated our closing costs and cash-to-close amount. The entire process felt extremely disorganized and lacked transparency. We were essentially sent documents to sign with little to no explanation, and when we had legitimate questions about significant changes to our financial documents, we couldn't get a straight answer. Buying a home is stressful enough without having to chase your lender for an explanation of your own financial documents and unexpected closing costs. I strongly recommend anyone considering Barrett Financial carefully review every document, compare the numbers from one disclosure to the next, and get written explanations for any changes before signing. Based on our experience, I would absolutely use a different lender if persented with Barrett again.

We don't owe much and we took of the interest rates when they were down to 2%, so we would not be willing to refi to get another company. I was scared. The transfer process was a breeze. It was easy to create an online account and make payments. Our escrow went through the roof for 2025. I was thinking they are doing something not good due to the reviews I read. I spoke with a kind lady who checked on our escrow account to see what was going on for 2025. I knew it wasn't our taxes, as our assessor showed they actually were going down. She did some research. Because I was holding for a bit, I was disconnected automatically. I was thinking "Here begins the nightmare!" She called me back in seconds. She let me know our insurance was going up over $1300 this year. She went above and beyond getting the information, and was kind the entire time. So far so good. Mind you this was 5:30pm in the Arizona evening, and I was still able to speak with customer service. Very happy. They do try to resolve as many issues online or with the automated system. I still was able to get to a rep as those options would not be able to help me answer my question. Less than 10 minutes and I was all set.
