Since 2024, I have been enrolled in flight training at Century Air, and my experience has been…read morenothing short of excellent. Century Air operates as a highly efficient flight training center that prioritizes its students above all else. My instructor, Raj, has consistently exceeded expectations throughout my training. Despite my hectic schedule, he has frequently come in on his days off to conduct ground lessons or flights, ensuring I remain on track. Raj has always addressed my inquiries with assurance, and his expertise and professionalism have significantly enhanced my skills as a pilot. In addition to being an exceptional instructor, he is a remarkably personable and sincere individual who makes the learning process enjoyable. His dedication to Century Air is evident, as he often goes out of his way to assist other students, support fellow instructors, and contribute to the training center's needs. His commitment to both his students and the success of Century Air is truly remarkable. The staff at Century Air is exceptional. Shannon and Dan at the front desk are consistently friendly, professional, and welcoming. They recognize me by name upon my arrival and always ensure that operations run smoothly. Lead Dispatcher Stephanie has also been outstanding, helping me arrange solo flights despite the busy schedule at Century and accommodating my request to take my written exam on one of the busiest days. Every time I walk into Century she has a giant smile on her face, remembers my name is always asking what she can do to assist me. I have often seen her going above and beyond to mentor and teach the other dispatchers making sure everything is up to the high Century Air Standards. Anytime I needed something she was always there willing to help! Jonah and Mario deserve a great deal of recognition for the hard work they put in every day as part of the ground support team. They are constantly on the move, helping push back aircraft, checking oil, cleaning windshields and windows, and making sure the fleet is ready for students and instructors. Beyond their technical responsibilities, they are extremely personable and always take the time to talk with students during preflight, making everyone feel welcomed at Century Air. Whether they're assisting on the ramp, helping inside the facility, or even cleaning classroom floors to keep the training center looking its best, Jonah and Mario are always working behind the scenes to keep operations running smoothly. Their dedication, positive attitudes, and extremely strong work ethic do not go unnoticed and are a big part of what makes Century Air such a great place to train. Assistant Chief Instructor Susy has proven to be an invaluable resource throughout my training. She possesses extensive knowledge and is always prepared to assist whenever challenges arise. It is evident that she is not only an excellent instructor but also a remarkable mentor to her colleagues. She exemplifies leadership, willingly shares her expertise, and plays a crucial role in upholding the high standards of instruction for which Century Air is renowned. Richard and Christine Greene have established an outstanding flight training and simulator center. The environment is immaculate, well-organized, and operates with a high level of professionalism--I have never encountered a disorganized classroom. What I value the most is their active engagement with the students. They consistently take the time to converse with us, and when I faced difficulties in scheduling my checkride before my ground exam expired, they personally intervened to ensure everything was resolved. Their aircraft are very clean, well maintained and fly exceptionally! Century Air resembles a professional aviation college more than a facility for learning to fly. I am immensely grateful for the knowledge, support, and experiences they have offered throughout my training. I wholeheartedly recommend Century Air to anyone seeking high-quality flight training.

I started training at Century Air in July 2020 and have since completed the private, instrument,…read morecommercial, CFI, and CFII courses. I researched several schools at CDW and at MMU prior to enrolling here. After visiting this school and getting to know more about the facility during my consultation, I was impressed at how well-run it is. The staff is very professional, everything is very clean, the airplanes are well-maintained, the curriculum is very organized, and the brochures they prepare highlight everything you need to know about the courses they offer. The final point that sealed the deal for me is that Century does not hire anyone and everyone who graduates from their program. All their instructors are tested and held to high standards before getting hired. This means that you will not be training with instructors who are only there to build time to go to the airlines. Instead, you will get highly proficient instructors who actually want to be there to teach you and truly care about your success. This is a Part 141 school, which means that the FAA oversees and approves the curriculum. As a result, you will be able to complete the requirements at a reduced number of hours, as well as have a structured syllabus to follow so you are trained to a high standard to become a good and proficient pilot. An additional benefit of having this structure is you always know what will be covered in every lesson and you will have progress checks along the way to keep you on track. For someone like me, this motivates me and allows me to push myself and set the bar higher to get the most out of my training. Flight school is different from a traditional college setting in the sense that everything is done at your own pace. You are assigned an instructor and you can complete all your ground and flight lessons together whenever you can. There are no lectures or classes to sit in on at predetermined times. This makes it very flexible for people who work and want to flight train when they have free time. This also allows you to take breaks when life gets busy without needing to wait for a vacation. Since Century is open 7 days a week, as long as your instructor and plane are available and the weather is nice, you can fly. Shortly after enrolling, I was assigned my instructor, Nick Ollo. I have obtained all my pilot certificates with him and I am very glad to have done so. Nick always challenged me to exceed the flight test standards so that I could become a better pilot and always work to improve my skills. He always has a wealth of knowledge and has taught me so many things that I wouldn't be able to learn just from a textbook. He is very dedicated to his job as a flight instructor, and I could tell that he cares a lot about it. There was never a point in time where I felt like I was neglected or not getting the full value out of my training. He has seen me grow from a zero-time student, all the way to becoming a flight instructor myself. Without him, I definitely would not be as great of a pilot as I am today. Being that CDW is under New York's airspace, which is the second busiest airspace in the world, you will get a lot of practice flying in and around congested airspace. Since CDW also has an ATC tower, you will also get a lot of practice communicating with air traffic control both on the ground and in the air. These reasons help to justify the costs of flight training in the New York metropolitan area, which like everything else in the area, is above average. You won't get the same experience training in the middle of nowhere or the cornfields. Century also has a simulator training center located down the street at the airport. The G1000 simulator is mainly used for instrument training, and there is a Frasca simulator that is mainly used for multi-engine training. Having access to simulators means that you can complete your training at a lower cost, as well as have fewer cancellations due to weather. It is much cheaper and more efficient to transfer skills that you learn on the ground into the plane, rather than try to learn everything in the cockpit. Lastly, one of the nicest benefits of training here is that the flight school owner, Richard Greene, is also a Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE). Therefore, you will be able to take your checkrides (flight tests) without needing to fly to other airports to do so. Rich is the most experienced aviator I know, holding certificates in all different types of aircraft you could possibly think of. Rich, as well as his wife, Christine, run the school together and they put in a lot of effort to make sure your experience at the school is top-notch. They have worked very hard to build the school up to where it is today. Overall, my experience at Century Air has been amazing. I am very happy that I chose to train here and cannot imagine going anywhere else. I highly recommend you schedule a consultation and tour the facility if you are considering flight training!

Aircraft scheduling is straightforward and flexible, which makes a huge difference when balancing flying and your daily life. The instructors are experienced, approachable, and easy to learn from. I should have known there were going to be issues when I had a hard time booking a discovery flight. I wanted the flight on a certain date, so I wanted to book almost 3 months in advance to guarantee the date. First, I went to the location, but no one was there and a young guy who worked in the same building the place is located told me that no one was there yet, even though they were supposed to have been open over an hour earlier. When I asked him what time they usually arrived, he said around 12 or so, he called it more of a "retirement job". I finally did get to speak to someone, and they told me that they didn't book out that far and to call back a few weeks before the date that I wanted. I did get it booked but not for the date I wanted, it was a birthday gift and i didn't want to chance not getting that date, so I planned something else for that day. The date came for the flight, and it got cancelled due to winds, no problem, I'm not a meteorologist, so we rescheduled. The day of the flight they cancelled again. This time they said storms were in the area. The weather was perfect that day! Not a cloud in the sky and no bad weather for hundreds of miles. I CAN read a radar and a weather report. I asked for a refund and got the runaround for over a month. I had to send a demand for payment letter before I got any real response. I finally did get a refund, of course they claimed that the gift certificate was for me (even though it states from me to someone else), and charged me fees. But, at least I got most of my money back and know to stay away from this company! Horrible all the way around.

What impressed me was that did not itemize or "nickle and dime" as much as the others. In am by no means saying that they are any less expensive when they quote you an average cost but they do have a few things that make the training more affordable. The highlight of my visit was a preview of their 2 simulators in which students may use gratis when they are enrolled. This is a huge deal since many schools will charge an hourly rate for the privilege. The only time they charge for sim training here is if it's instructor guided. That's a very fair deal in my opinion. Their aircraft use was more expensive BUT they have planes with analog instruments AND glass cockpit and ALL their planes go for the same price. Also, all of their planes are fuel injected which means no fussing with carb heat. Many other schools seem to charge more for upgraded technology. Ground school was not as pricey and the school does not push a package or kit for you to buy. No high pressure sales there. Kudos goes out to John there for alleviating some of my initial anxiety by letting me walk out to a plane and hop in for initial feel and showing me around. The other places I visited today all seemed either a bit harried or sticklers on a scheduled appointment for a more controlled visit. I'm happy that they are busy but I really needed something a bit more personal here and John did a great job. Though I still have a bit of anxiety I think I can now go forward and actually schedule a discovery flight. Oh and speaking of which, THIS school actually includes a simulator experience in addition to the flight. No one else I've previewed offers that either. Great way to ease someone into this.

The owner is reliable, professional and a dedicated member of the aviation community. We are lucky she picked Ellenvile to setup shop. Based at Joseph Y Resnick airport in Ellenville, the location couldn't be more perfect. Resnick Airport is easy to fly in and out of and within a reasonable drive from most anywhere around Ulster county. The airport is usually quiet and is ideal for practice laps around the pattern. The surfaces are well kept and it's easy to get to the many other nearby airports for tower and cross country practice. If you haven't flown before or are new to aviation I would encourage you to take an introductory lesson. You can even go up with family or friends on scenic rides and sight seeing around the Hudson Valley. Intro lessons make great gifts and gift certificates are available too! Kate has been my flight instructor for the last 6 months and I am close to getting my Private Pilots License. I feel that I am learning more than the bare minimum and am gaining the knowledge and confidence to be a safe, proficient, and professional pilot. Definitely looking forward to the future and my continued training at Fly With Kate. Give them a call, you won't be disappointed!
