Gas pump ripoff when using cc. Initial swipe gets declined, swipe again and it's accepted but scam is that they charge you $1 for the card being declined. Was traveling through this area again 3 weeks later and stopped here to purchase fuel and to see if the first time was just a fluke but no it wasn't, the same thing happened. Checking out in the store, the cashier with the nasty nose ring finally asked if we needed help after she was done texting. Instead of checking us out, she directed us to self checkout. I prefer not to use self checkout, so I ended up waiting on another cashier. Frosted Farrah Fawcett hair cashier checked us out but didn't bag some of our items. Need gas and refreshments in Iowa? Stop here. Iowa, LA always confuses me. The stretch of interstate in this area is boring and usually lulls me into a trance. I see the sign for Iowa and think I have gone way off course. You'd think I would get it by now, but I don't. A few months ago I was heading west to see the country and Iowa was the point where my kids woke up and announced they had to use the bathroom. This is where we stopped, and where you should to. Truck stops can occasionally feel run down and scary for four wheelers, This stop has a large separate area where cars can refuel without worrying about being run over. The area between the pumps and the convenience store is covered which is something I think all stations should do. It is never fun to be sheltered from the rain while fueling only to have to walk briskly (you cant look cool running in the rain) into the store. Inside the store is well stocked with the typical items. There is also a rack of clothing, truck accessories and other items geared towards the truckers. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Very clean. Employees were very friendly. Great gas station for truckers. Also spacious inside the store. I've noticed a lot of Pilots are kinda cramped inside. If you gamble they also have a casino attached which is cool... Showers were clean as well so not really much to complain about or really say. I love Pilot in general as a trucker family. This location in Iowa, LA is not one I will recommend to anyone. We reserved a spot in the back for truck parking but other trucks that didn't reserve spots had taken the spots that we paid for earlier that day. We went inside to let the employees know that we had nowhere to park and they said that they won't do anything about it and we just need to go somewhere else. We were out of drive time and had to basically stay up all night in their parking lot to make sure nobody hit us because we literally had to just sit in the middle of the back parking lot. I was disgusted by how we were treated while Pilot lives to brag about how much they value their commercial drivers. read more

Today we were asked to leave the safety of the pilot travel center during a major storm which included lightening, thunder, flooding and national weather advisory warnings of a tornado. The lights had flickered on and off and right after, while the storm was still at its worst (approx. 1:15pm) the staff asked us to leave the travel center because they had lost power for a brief moment. Present in the store were about 20-30 people, including children and elderly, looking for safety from the impending tornado. Me and two of my friends decided to listen and left, if it gave the family with children and the elderly a chance to stay. I'm horrified at this decision management made to listen to corporate rules instead of common decency to protect the well being of vulnerable people. I will never spend a penny at another pilot again and will discourage others as well. This could have been a life or death situation for so many. Shame on this company and it's employees. read more

a newer, nicer decent pilot for the most part down a 24-hour Arby's inside they got the are pilot PJ fresh full make a meal dinners two bathrooms are quite clean in this one surprisingly because Louisiana seems to struggle on finding clean toilets many many many years now although I do not recommend going to the Burger King next door it is god-awful it's one of the worst franchises every time I've ever gone in there I've left the satisfied in the employees could give a shit less..apparently talked around for the local so that's one of the worst franchise he's a Burger King's ever he's got a couple of locations near the Lake Charles area in there all toilet bowls. but I got myself a nice cup of organic fresh brewed coffee I like the Colombian started really enjoying the pilot's got a lot of these and Circle K does now to it's got a nice fresh machine there organically fresh-brewed beans are ground right there and all that fun stuff in the machine was an acquired taste at first but I became acquired very quickly haha.. for my truck and friends the showers are pretty good the water pressure isn't bad you got the casino inside there till like most everything in Louisiana whole lot cleaner than that loves across the street read more

If I could give this place a ZERO, I would! We are truck drivers and we are on this route weekly. The past month, this place has been dirty, no coffee in the pots, trucks parking all over the lot, making it hard for others to even get to the pumps and the workers are LAZY! God forbid they have to miss their smoke break. We will be speaking with our managers and requesting this fuel stop be changed. There's no sense in how this place is being run. read more

According to Google street-view, it was an Exon Gas station back in May 2015 This station has a covered walkway from pumps to store. great when weather is bad Good varieties of hot food and drinks. (and frozen yogurt too? I don't quite remember) It had self-checkout machines, but the attendant did the work for me. Great service! read more

Beautiful gas stop, excellent staff! The shift mgr Josh gave me 3$ out of his own pocket when I left my wallet 200miles back in Baton Rouge to get me home. More courteous than I could possibly imagine. Nice to have coin-op laundry, too! I pulled a dummy and hoped out of my cab for a second, and my yorkie danced around and locked himself in. They wouldn't let me beat myself up. And by the time I'd requested the number of a larger bismuth & we walked back over to the edge of the lot, the little dog had stepped on a control button again and knocked a window down low enough to manage. When you're on a road trip, and those three beverages you decided to indulge in start to take notice, you are much more likely to take the plentiful rest stop signs to heart. Trucker stops are usually my go-to since restrooms are generally cleaned more often, and this Pilot location did not disappoint. The store features a large selection of snacks and drinks, including a Cinnabon, Arby's, and even a casino (that is unfortunately currently undergoing renovations). I did buy some Starbursts ($1.49) and an orange juice ($1.99), and the self-check outs were even available. Now the restrooms were pretty great too. No actual doors to enter the facilities, so no need for restroom-door-germ-anxiety. The faucet and sink are not automatic though, and powerful hand dryers are used rather than paper towels. Everything was very clean, and none of those annoying fortune teller weight and magic machines were in sight. read more
