So when I went to the pump and entered two different credit cards kept saying "See cashier" so the cashier I saw was very courteous and I prepaid and had to go back in since pre paid too much . Which in itself is a hastle since I wanted to pay at the pump and go. Once gas was pumped I went in for a receipt and was met by another cashier - not so knowledgeable / nice . Used the Florida app to purchase lottery and attempted to use bar code for tickets # I picked - was told had to fill out manually - so after being in the gas station for a while and waiting in cashier lines 3 times - I finally got gas and lottery . Service is slow except for the 20-30 year old attendant with short hair- male - who was courteous and helpful - if I wasn't treated by him I would rate the service lower . Always clean. Good selection of snacks and roller grill items. You know I'm a roller grill junkie.... Bathrooms are clean but they don't always refill the sanitizer, it's empty more often than not or broken. The staff tried hard to be friendly. They are mostly efficient and I see them cleaning as they go. Plenty of drink choices for everybody. I'm a regular here. read more

My first fuel stop as we head back to Charlotte with my new-to-me motorhome, I wanted to have close to a full tank of gas from here and this Pilot was the cheapest in the area according to GasBuddy.com. Easy access from the highway with wide lanes and a large pump area. It was tidy with no trash spotted anywhere. They had two squeegees at the pump -one long and one short. The long one worked great! So husband went to the pump and entered Capital One credit card (not debit) which was saying "See cashier". Not wanting to see cashier, he used another card. In the meantime, he received a text alert which asked him if he tried to spend $151.00 at Pilot?? He answered "no" to the text. When done pumping he went inside to report that he was alerted to a $151.00 attempted charge that he declined and wanted the station to know what card and the amount, for reference. They said it does it all the time??? So it takes one card, no problem, but then another it tries to pre-charge $151.00 and says "see cashier" and the station thinks that's fine? Unacceptable. Since he answered the text that he did not attempt a $151.00 charge, his card is now canceled, and he has to wait for replacement in the mail. Be aware -- do not try to use Capital One apparently at this station for some ODD reason. Never had this experience with this card at any other gas station --ever! read more

I came in here for a couple of waters and a snack, and was pleasurably introduced to a gentleman named Ted. He was kind, amicable, respectful and quick-witted. While I was in the establishment, he displayed talents of leadership, camaraderie, and kept the store in symbiotic balance. His character was that of complete devotion. I saw him display actions concreting this, for not only the customer's care for Pilot, but also for the Arbys' employees adjoining. He was quick on his feet to answer off the wall questions I asked him in regards to inventory. He also multitasked without heed the store floor, personally following through on gas pump related issues for truck-drivers & communicating with the staff, walk-ins & the restaurant staff. I was not intending to go to this gas station, but the three next to me at the hotel by McDonald's, were closed. I got into a small bit of conversation with Ted, and he definitely made my night much brighter and in higher-spirits than it was an hour before. As the old saying goes, everything happens for a reason. I didn't intend to come to this gas station, but boy am I glad that I did. People who have exemplary talents, deserve to be noticed and spoken for it. Ted is is a rare gem. Pilot is lucky to have him represent their company for what a stellar human being, not just an employee, he truly is deep down! These are new times, and shall I say, they are different waters than a few years ago. Ted will continue to shine the light so all may see.... Just because somebody may seem lesser than you behind a cash register for something as simple as gas, doesn't make them any less special than you are on the other side needing to fuel your tank. If you catch my drift. I did not need gas tonight in my car, but Ted fueled my personal energy tank with his kindness and laughter and joy that I couldn't have possibly needed more. If there is a power outage here, does it mean the Pilot Lights went out? This is a pretty average Pilot store where I wanted to spend the night but ended up going elsewhere, because there were a couple of shady things about it. They didn't have anywhere to sit and use WiFi, which you have to pay for unless you're me. And their WiFi is expensive and the outlets weren't forthcoming. Seems like a pretty good location but I was shocked by the high star reviews here. Gas was priced about average for the area. I honestly prefer locally owned truck stops anyway. read more

On 12/16/22.... Five family Members stopped at the Punta Gorda Pilot Gas station as a rest stop to get gas and use restroom facilities at approx 3.45 pm. Two Female members were in the restroom and while one member removed her blouse to clean a Pepsi drink stain there was a loud knock on the door and an African American Man walked in ...we were shocked ....asked him to leave instead of leaving the restroom he stated that he was an employee maintenance and that his job is to come into the bathroom every half hour to check.......there were now 4 women in the bathroom.... we insisted he leave .... he verbally assaulted us shouting at us all stating quote : You bitches think I am going to lose my job .... I am doing my job ! He then left the women's restroom area ... when I stated that I thought it was very inappropriate for any male to enter a female restroom when it was occupied by women. I reported the incident immediately to the store Manager who was not very proactive in the matter and reaffirmed that it was his job to complete bathroom checks every half hour.....The issue of his verbal abuse after clearly violating our restroom rights was never addressed.....Absolutely disgusted. read more

This particular Pilot location has been a life saver for me. I am currently building a house very close by and everything that could go wrong has. I have been with out basic necessities ie: water, electricity and plumbing for much longer than I ever imagined. Add to that, two major tropical storms hit and I was flooded. I literally spent a day at Pilot waiting the storm out. Good times! ;) Pilot has been my go to for coffee, water, and extremely clean bathrooms during this whole ordeal. The staff is wonderful! They are all very friendly and hard working. I've actually had the pleasure of getting to know them and they've been my cheering team during this horrible ordeal. I don't know what I would've done with out having such an abundance of 'everything you could ever need' so close by. You have my patronage for life ! :) read more

Worst gas station ever. My family and I are currently on vacation and are only carrying one debit card with us. I bought $89 worth of gas at a pump and soon after received a text message from my bank saying that my card had been block due to suspicious activity. The gas station put a hold of $151 on my card. I went inside the store to speak to the manager, Jason, and he told me that it was normal for their gas station to put a certain amount of money on hold while buying gas and that it was clearly stated outside on the pumps. I later checked the pumps and it didn't say anywhere that my money would be held, especially not that large of an amount. My family and I are frequent travelers and we have never had an experience at a gas station like this. We enjoy camping and we have a travel trailer. We have been to this exact gas station before and never had any problems so I had my concerns. After speaking to my husband about this, he decided to go inside and speak to the manager himself. My husband asked what would happen to someone who didn't have such amount of money in their bank account. The manager responded saying that the transaction would be canceled and that it would show up as fraud. read more

Has all your travel needs, gas of course, coffee to keep your motor running, restrooms that aren't scary and snacks and drinks galore. And the prices are reasonable. There is an Arby's attached to this store. Good size parking lot and it's right off the freeway (75) for easy on/off. Usually stop here on my way to/from ft myers as it's usually less expensive then surrounding gas stations. read more

Many truck stops are a bit scary for most travelers, however that is certainly not the case here at the Pilot. Friendly faces and great customer service is the norm here NO MATTER WHAT HOUR!!! Clean restrooms, hot coffee or tea and cheap gas is always normal at the Pilot. read more

This could be a top location with a few changes. The pump islands have a few cleaning brushes that are broken, and the WiFi is questionable. The staff, however, are very helpful and friendly, and the inside (including bathrooms) are very clean. Even with the needed adjustments, it's still one of the best truck stops for a hundred miles. read more

The NIGHT crew is awsome bathrooms always clean showers are beyond clean (thanks to Joe) there's so many snacks and drinks to choose from.The night manager is awsome. Stopped here twice recently, clean restroom and huge food store on one side plus an Arbys on the other. Gracious friendly service ladies here, and about the lowest gas prices in the area.
