Wow! Some of the best iced coffee we've had! A very nice selection of pastries for very affordable prices, and I highly recommend the hamentashen. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and patient with our children even when we took a little extra time to order, even though it was very busy. We appreciate it and certainly will become regulars!

We've been visiting Punta Gorda frequently for year now and always around the holidays where Ninos is understandably closed. Finally went during an offseason and easily one my fave pastries spot in town.

Stopped in twice during our stay in Punta Gorda. Once for breakfast and a second time to pick up a pie to bring to a friend's house. Both times the same woman at the cash register seemed lost. Took quite some time to type our orders into her computer screen. Other than that, the food was on point. Everything bagels toasted well with salmon cream cheese, an egg bake and a latte for breakfast, and a chocolate cream pie to go were all quite good. Will definitely return when back in the area.

Oh my! Incredibly pastries and bagels. The best custard I have ever tasted in a doughnut and pastry.

3+ Stars. Stopped here for Breakfast on our way to do some bike riding (Legacy Trail). Really an out of the way place, but an excellent find. Full blown bakery, where you can really blow your diet. The restaurant part is pretty big with seating outside too. Sundays is their "busy" day so they have live music for the patrons. Not bad. I had a 2-egg Omelette- which believe it or not, is enough. Very tasty. The wife had the French Toast platter which came with 2 eggs ( you choose). Overall the food was good. Took a little longer than other places. Plenty of coffee (no skin milk). If you live in the area, this should definitely be a go-to place.

It's summer in Florida but it's never too hot to think about what you are going to eat for dessert. You can't let dessert overtake your meal, and you have to eat all your vegetables, but when it comes time for dessert, you should go ahead and indulge. To maximize the joys of desert, we ventured off the beaten path into the depths of Punta Gorda. Located in a industrial strip mall, Ninos was the bakery where we went to choose an assortment of desserts for our after dinner treats. Their star attraction, the pastry they are most famous for, was called the lobster roll. My wife tried it and was totally impressed. My treat was some sort of bar made with crushed Oreo as the base. It was delicious. We also got a cream puff and a large black-and-white cookie for the family. Everything was fresh and delicious. I don't think you can go wrong with any dessert picks from the display case. Don't suffer by missing dessert, enjoy!

Nino's bakery and Pizza Restaurant is tucked away in a small strip mall on our way to downtown Punta Gorda. I actually found it on Yelp! There is a bakery located in front of the restaurant. Dave has a real sweet tooth and is always looking for something to have with coffee. Today we came with the intention of having lunch in the restaurant. I swear it reminds of the Italian restaurants in Brooklyn where I grew up. Sort of dark inside with seating and a bar. Also a stage for entertainment. This time we chose to eat outside in the back of the building. Lovely tables with bright covered umbrellas. There was a blue grass band playing music and it was nice to listen to while we had lunch. The best thing about Nino's are the warm and friendly waitresses. Sam took care of us today. Dave had his IPA and a cod basket and I had a salad with tuna and chicken salad scooped on top. Of course I had my black coffee! (Now I'm doing Keto-so wish me luck lol!) The food was fresh and reminded me of home, which was a very long time ago! The bakery itself is loaded with delicious homed baked good and breads. I have to cover my eyes when I walk by lol! By the way they serve breakfast most of the day, which is a plus. We love supporting our local community businesses!

Ask the Community - Ninos Bakery & Cafe

Trying to see if it's a place I can take my 10 yr old on New Year's Eve. Trying to find a kid friendly thing other than watching TV. Says they are. Does anyone know if this is a place is truly kid friendly @ night? Kids go @ night?

Although I have never been there on New Years Eve, I would say yes. Nino's is very family friendly and has very good food but I would call the owners and ask them what their plans are for that evening. Good luck and Happy New Year!

She found Leroy's Southern Kitchen & Bar in Punta Gorda, and let me tell you this place isn't a restaurant it's a whole Saturday night experience! I walked in thinking there had to be a festival, birthday party, or somebody famous in town. Nope! That's just how they roll every Saturday. Live music, people dancing, everyone smiling I started wondering if they slipped happiness into the sweet tea. Now the wife ordered the Nevermind Pressed Burger with extra cheese and black coffee steak sauce. NEVERMIND?? More like Never mind my diet! One bite then another then another and suddenly her plate looked like the dishwasher had already been there. The burger was cooked perfectly, juicy, cheesy, and that steak sauce should be illegal in at least 12 states. Meanwhile, I ordered the 10 oz. Skirt Steak with jasmine rice, carrots, green onions, and their house made Asian marinade. Listen whoever made that sauce I need the recipe, your autograph, and your retirement plan. I was this close to asking for a to go cup so I could pour it on my cereal tomorrow morning. Mama mia that steak disappeared faster than my paycheck after my wife says, Let's just stop at one more store. Then dessert happened. We saw our neighbors order the homemade Banana Nilla Pudding special. My wife looked at me with that look that says, We're getting one. Fellas you already know that's not a suggestion. Well she got one. I got exactly three bites. THREE! ‍ By the time I looked back, the jar was cleaner than the windows at a car wash. Dear Lord now I understand why my doctor keeps telling me to watch my sugar. That pudding almost had me scheduling my next A1C appointment from the table. The live band had me singing songs from back in the day don't ask which ones. Some of y'all are detectives and I'm not giving away my age! And a huge shout-out to Athena! She knew that menu like she wrote it herself. Friendly, funny, attentive she made us feel like regulars even though it was our first visit. So thank you, Uncle Leroy! Between the food, the music, the atmosphere, and my wife stealing 97% of the dessert, this was the perfect way to end an unforgettable Father's Day getaway. Five stars. Come hungry leave happy and if you order the Banana Nilla Pudding, order TWO. One for your wife and one that you hide under the table. Trust me.

Ok! I got dressed up and walked over there. My table was ready on time; it was in the lounge area of the restaurant. They offered me the table or said I could sit at the bar. I opted to sit at the bar. The bar was almost full but people were leaving. Apparently people eat early there. The bartender was swamped but smiled and got me a glass of water. Soon I had menus. I like that they have a regular menu as well as a specials menu, including the usual cocktails and some special cocktails. I ordered the conquest, which seemed like a twist on an old fashioned. They offered bread or focaccia bread, I declined. And heads up- bread service is not included. It's an up charge. Normally I don't care but I was having dessert, not bread. I had the halibut special. It was phenomenal. One of the guys from the kitchen dropped it off and asked if I needed anything'- I replied salt. I find that I need salt often at restaurants. They brought the salt out real fast! I had a bite and determined it didn't need any more salt- it was perfectly salted! Woohoo! Fantastic. I ate my whole dish and then I savored my cocktail. The bartender wasn't much for conversation , as she was very busy, alone, covering the entire bar and drinks for the whole restaurant. She did invite me to try dessert, and mentioned a coconut cream cake that was not on the menu. I agreed to it and it was heavenly. Seemed like cheesecake icing with fluffy layers of cake and subtle coconut flakes throughout. The chocolate ice cream was weird at first but then I realized it's like almond joy/ mounds - coconut and chocolate are often paired. The espresso crumble gave it a nice crunch and there was caramel all over the plate. Wow! I took the majority of the cake home. It was a large portion and indulgent. I paid my tab and finished my drink. I was not rushed. I would go back again. It's a bit pricey. The fish special was $58. The cocktail was $17 and the dessert was $16. So one person, who did not add on the bread service, was $91. It's expensive. I would emphasize you can probably get a seat at the bar if you can't get a reservation. Also- the entrance is hard to find. It's in the parking lot and not facing the main road. I got a little lost walking there. The signage is poor. I can't imagine going there the first time in the dark. So give yourself a couple extra minutes if it's your first time going there.

Starting off with the ambience, the place is SUPER cute, decorated with a color theme I call "sherbet whimsy" with a smattering of smiling emojis. Our party of 6 was warmly greeted at the counter and immediately seated together. We started off with their delicious coffee, some hot & some cold...all excellent! The menu is fairly extensive for a breakfast joint, so the server gave us some good recommendations & said everything here is house made. Wow! OK... so we all got different menu items, and despite being warned about the HUGE portions...we could not have fathomed how large they are, but the prices do reflect how much food you're going to get! The breakfast burrito could easily feed four people. Our lone young male in the group - who might have a tapeworm based upon his ability to devour gigantic amounts of food - did his best, but could only consume about 2/3 of it. He said it was amazing, especially when paired with their delicious house made hot sauce. Two of us got two different bennie breakfasts, and raved about the hollandaise, the stretched "biscuits" & the fried chicken. Despite being smallish young ladies, they put a good dent in their meals. One of us got the outstanding corned beef hash, and thankfully generously shared with yours truly!! She could not eat even half of her meal, so I was glad to help out! :) The corned beef hash is not your standard ground-up version from a can. It is house made, with larger bits of potato, corned beef, onions & peppers. They get a perfect scald on it & serve it up with eggs & thick sliced perfectly toasted/buttered toast. My picky husband got the chorizo scramble with a side of fruit & really enjoyed it. I got the fantastic avocado toast with a side of potatoes. Everything was perfect... the thick slices of toasted wheat bread adorned with melted cheese then topped with very fresh & perfectly ripe avocado slices. I didn't prefer their scrambled eggs & should have gotten them fried instead, but it was still perfectly good, especially when dipped in their hot sauce. Thankfully my husband shared some of his fresh fruit, which was ripe & good. I dipped the pineapple into that hot sauce, which was delicious together. The place is very clean, including the bathrooms. The clientele were a menagerie from various demographics...retirees, blue collar workers, bikers, vacationers; everyone was pleasant & seemed to be enjoying their meals. This was one of the better meals we had during our trip, and definitely the best breakfast by far. It's so close to the airport, too. I'm so glad we got up early enough to be able to fit in a stop here before catching our flight home.
