Wow! Some of the best iced coffee we've had! A very nice selection of pastries for very affordable prices, and I highly recommend the hamentashen. The staff was very friendly , my sandwich was delicious and very fairly priced, the smells were amazing and the place was very neat and clean. I'm from New York and when I go into a deli or a bakery for an egg sandwich on a Kaiser roll and I ask for something over easy and they told me it's a fried egg and I asked what that is. Oh, we cooked it this morning. We keep it warm and some kind of warming device well I want a little something different when I got was something you would get in McDonald's. It was a complete waste of my time when I want eggs over medium over easy I just might as well cook them at home because no one here seems to know what eggs over easy on a Kaiser roll is or a medium, not some pre-cooked shit that's been sitting around for hours. I did find one place on US 17 in Punta Gorda called empire bagel and deli, and they make their eggs fresh on a hot skillet not something that's been sitting around for hours as far as Ninos. I would never go back there again so to all my New York friends go to empire. read more

Hands down one of the worst so-called "Italian bakeries" I've ever been to. The pastries are stale, tasteless, and cheap in quality, yet sold at ridiculous prices. The staff have a nasty, dismissive attitude -- zero warmth or hospitality. There's nothing genuine, authentic, or remotely Italian about this place. Save your money and go anywhere else. read more

Stopped in twice during our stay in Punta Gorda. Once for breakfast and a second time to pick up a pie to bring to a friend's house. Both times the same woman at the cash register seemed lost. Took quite some time to type our orders into her computer screen. Other than that, the food was on point. Everything bagels toasted well with salmon cream cheese, an egg bake and a latte for breakfast, and a chocolate cream pie to go were all quite good. It pains me to leave this review but we went with friends for breakfast/lunch and it was horrible. The breakfast sandwich was all bread and a cold piece of cheese (like packaged cheese), the French toast bake was mush and very small, the Cuban was all cold ham and dry so we will not go back. No one enjoyed their food except the one person who only got a parfait. They had a nice selection of cookies but didn't try any after the food experience. read more

The restaurant part is pretty big with seating outside too. Sundays is their "busy" day so they have live music for the patrons. Not bad. I had a 2-egg Omelette- which believe it or not, is enough. Very tasty. The wife had the French Toast platter which came with 2 eggs ( you choose). Overall the food was good. Took a little longer than other places. Plenty of coffee (no skin milk). It's summer in Florida but it's never too hot to think about what you are going to eat for dessert. You can't let dessert overtake your meal, and you have to eat all your vegetables, but when it comes time for dessert, you should go ahead and indulge. To maximize the joys of desert, we ventured off the beaten path into the depths of Punta Gorda. Located in a industrial strip mall, Ninos was the bakery where we went to choose an assortment of desserts for our after dinner treats. Their star attraction, the pastry they are most famous for, was called the lobster roll. My wife tried it and was totally impressed. My treat was some sort of bar made with crushed Oreo as the base. It was delicious. We also got a cream puff and a large black-and-white cookie for the family. Everything was fresh and delicious. I don't think you can go wrong with any dessert picks from the display case. Don't suffer by missing dessert, enjoy! read more

Nino's bakery and Pizza Restaurant is tucked away in a small strip mall on our way to downtown Punta Gorda. I actually found it on Yelp! There is a bakery located in front of the restaurant. Dave has a real sweet tooth and is always looking for something to have with coffee. Today we came with the intention of having lunch in the restaurant. I swear it reminds of the Italian restaurants in Brooklyn where I grew up. Sort of dark inside with seating and a bar. Also a stage for entertainment. This time we chose to eat outside in the back of the building. Lovely tables with bright covered umbrellas. There was a blue grass band playing music and it was nice to listen to while we had lunch. The best thing about Nino's are the warm and friendly waitresses. Sam took care of us today. Dave had his IPA and a cod basket and I had a salad with tuna and chicken salad scooped on top. Of course I had my black coffee! (Now I'm doing Keto-so wish me luck lol!) The food was fresh and reminded me of home, which was a very long time ago! The bakery itself is loaded with delicious homed baked good and breads. I have to cover my eyes when I walk by lol! By the way they serve breakfast most of the day, which is a plus. There's a great selection! Whether you want breads or sweet treats, Nino's has a wonderful selection! Our purchase this visit was the Napoleon, Cream Puff (with whip cream filling), lobster tail (custard filling), spice cookies and a poppy seed bagel. Having grown up in NYC, the sweets reminded me of a bakery in Bayridge Brooklyn. It's the most authentic sweets I've had in a long time. It would take way to long to describe each, but I'll say they were some of the best I've had in a long time! Go earlier for the freshest items! They go fast! Simply put worth the drive! read more

Such a cute Italian bakery that has an attached restaurant. I hope they are able to recover from hurricane Ian soon! Their breakfast offerings are extremely basic, American fare and at a decent price point. It was so standard I can't really remember what I ordered. But be sure not to miss the bakery case! That's the real gem. Ordered: cherry streusel: very flakey and looked homemade, disintegrated into my mouth Sfogliatelle: thought it was just a mini version of a lobster tail, they have different fillings so don't make the same assumptions! I am sorry to say this, but for an Italian pizzeria it's one of the worst pizzas I've ever had tombstone is probably five times better not sure where that is. I'm not sure if it's fake mozzarella or I have no clue and 5.25 per slice and they are tiny Go there for the cookies and the Danish but not the Pizza. I have to give ninos two different ratings. First the bakery is wonderful offering delicious baked treats. Italian cookies, German Linzer tarts, danish, cakes, torts and strudels all made to delight your sweet tooth. The bakery deserves a five star rating. Last night I went for dinner with friends. We arrived before 5 o'clock and the place became quite busy. Our waitress , who provided pleasant and efficient service, emphasized that they now have a full bar. I ordered a nice Pinot Noir. At the waitress' suggestion I tried the chicken Parmesan. The chicken, a generous 2 pc serving, was tasty tender and juicy. The pasta, however, was mushy and the sauce was sour, an unappealing dark color and tasted like it had been days on the burner. Please note here my friends did not feel the same way despite having the same meal. I was also disappointed to be served mediocre soft rolls instead of a nice Italian bread that I would've expected from an Italian bakery. Having eaten only 1/2 of the chicken, I had plenty of room for dessert. Now we're back to the five star review side. The tiramisu was wonderful. read more

I have purchased cookies at Nino's a few times and have been disappointed each time. I recebtly went to them again because I was hoping that I had just hit them at the wrong time and that this time would be better. Unfortunately, I have been continuously disappointed. The cookies taste like store bought supermarket cookies and were stale to boot. At $18/lb they were definitelty not what I was hoping for. I purchased $30 worth to bring as my contribution to a dinner party. No one liked them. I was so embarrassed. I will definitely not be back. Punta Gorda desperately needs a good bakery.
