I usually stop in here on my way to Antelope OR. Biggs is the last stop coming from Yakima getting into Antelope. There is Shaniko but it's not 24/7. Gas prices are pretty low here. Like any pilot, bathrooms are clean and they have lots of stalls to fill up gas. I will say the quality isn't as good as the one back at my home. If you are driving north on highway 97 from Bend to the Biggs Junction at the East / West thoroughfare of highway 84 along the mighty Columbia River, once you pass the town of Madras if you need petrol or a loo it will be woe unto you. That is, until you reach this Pilot Travel Center at Biggs Junction. We've stopped here more times than I can count over the years and it occurs to me that in the universe of travel center stops for fuel and facilities in the middle of nowhere, this may be as good as it gets. In fact only the too small, leaning to bumper cars at times, parking lot holds me back from five stars. Otherwise it is all good. Multiple gas bays with friendly people doing the pumping. (Quiz: what are the only two states in the US that will not allow you to pump your own gas? Answer: New Jersey and Oregon.) Sure you have to wait a bit when cars line up at the many pumps but "chill", you're on vacation. Uber clean restrooms inside the convenience store with lots of stalls. I'd rather wait at the gas pumps than here. if you know what I mean. And so far in all the trips in, no waiting needed. Very friendly people working at the counter in the well stocked convenience store that carries every kind of road snack food imaginable. Some are even healthy. (I head for the dark chocolate unless the licorice is calling my name.). There is even a McDonald's connected to the store. I don't do fast food. But different strokes and for those who do, there it is. Did I mention the restrooms have cherry scented hand soap containing pumice to get your hands nice and soft as well as clean and real paper towels for drying? And as final hooray, there is a view of the mighty Columbia River from the parking lot. Which in everything being connected to everything else, that small and too full parking lot is the only deduction from a five star score. read more

The cashier Marie is racist. There was a Hispanic man handing her a 100 dollar bill saying "diesel on 1". She replies with "ENGLISH". He said "no English". She walks to the back asking if another employee speaks Spanish. Nobody did. She comes back and says she can't help him. I speak Spanish, I asked him how much he would like. He says the full 100. I translate for him to Marie. He says thank you as he walks away. When I walk up to cashier to pay for my gas, she makes a remark like she couldn't believe she just had to deal with a human who couldn't speak English. I couldn't believe it! read more

Went there yesterday October 20th. Stopped for Cinnabon very good was hard to find a parking spot

*** NOT LGBTQ TOLERANT *** I recently stopped in Biggs Junction during a road trip and picked up some food at this Pilot Travel Center. The cashier was blatantly rude towards me and my partner because we were a same-sex couple. She made it clear that we weren't welcome there and said, "I will even get the door if it will get you out of here faster," as she walked us towards the door. I hope this attitude isn't representative of Biggs Junction, Oregon as a whole. I hope this is limited to this one-person working at this one Pilot Travel Center, but I think all travelers should be aware that this is the kind of person that you may run into here. read more

This Pilot Travel Center is smaller than one of their truck stop centers, although you can still buy a lot of the "Big Rig" accessories here (and a huge variety of snacks). It's located right at Biggs Junction at the intersection of US 97 and I-84 and is definitely a significant supply and service point along this stretch of the Columbia Gorge. There's also a small motel that shares the parking lot, and when you combine this with a cheap gasoline price point, it's a bit of a demolition derby to get in, pump gas, and get out. Yes, it's Oregon and they're supposed to pump it for you, but for the sake of efficient customer service and civility with our fellow motorists, some of us might have taken the law into our own hands. May the Petrol Police have mercy on our souls. read more

AS far as truck stops go, it isn't bad. It is a Pilot/Flying J after all. The staff has always been friendly, the place clean and the shelves stocked. It's not the biggest truck stop but it's adequate if you're patient. From a truckers point of view, it would be nice if the Mcdonalds attatched to it was open late as an option for us highway travelers. read more

Got to this Pilot to fuel and decided to shut down for the night due to worsening weather. There were no spots and I was worried where I would be able to stop for the night. An employee that I was chatting with, Angel, walked me over to a shut down pump at the end of the fuel island. She said I could park behind it for the night. She stood in the spot until I could get my truck and bring it over. Thanks to her I had a safe place to shut down for the night. Thank you Angel! read more

Used to be a better experience when they had attendants to pump your gas here. I couldn't get the pump to work so I left.

Always clean bathrooms. Always good service. Always reasonable gas prices (I mean, you're in Rufus. How much selection do you have?). This place is well kept, and it's a nice halfway point for many people. The women that work at the store are just unhappy people. Starts with the manager being pissy and difficult with customers and obviously drips down to her employees. There was one nice younger gentleman that was very polite. But besides that the rest of the employees are obviously disgruntled and hate their jobs. If forever some reason I am driving through again I will NEVER stop at this pilot. Not to mention the fact that gas is cheaper across the street at the Shell or the Circle K. read more

This place is such a cluster. They don't tell you that if you pay inside its pre pay. So you stand in line while you are not getting gas. There are so many cars and only two attendees for the pumps. They need one person for each island. They make so much money they could afford more employees. There was only one cashier inside. The Cinnabon register was getting people just buying normal stuff not ordering Cinnabon just so they could get out. They need the gas lines going in one direction as well to help with the flow. The gas is cheap but the headache is not worth the problem of going here for gas. read more

What I like about this place is you can get cinnabons here. Very busy place. Even though there are lines. The wait is not that long. It always seems to be a challenge to find parking here for cars. read more

Got ripped off on a shower. Cashier refused to load points manually. I'm a professional driver with a professional pilot card. Next time I will avoid this place and pick a cheaper prices gas station. They wanna dangle a carrot and then not give it to you after o fueled up and done paid for it.... I'll take my business where I won't feel cheated. read more

It's a Pilot travel center, they have most everything, this one me have the upgraded showers and bathrooms as most do now, staff is friendly, fresh coffee, has both fuel for truckers and gasoline for cars, this location is also limited to parking but there is a dirt lot next to it that has room for about 40 trucks, anyway what more can I say. read more

I have never liked stopping at this station for gas but the last trip through was the last. They allowed the vehicles pulling into their gas pumps to back traffic up through the traffic light. Semi trucks were making illegal turns from wrong lanes to get pass the back up. We were getting out of our cars to walk over to the station to use the restrooms while waiting for traffic to move. I was waiting for an attendant to tell the head vehicles to move around but no one did, they just let traffic back up. This went on for 15 minutes. Next trip I'm stopping in The Dalles for gas. read more

If you have an rv, do not go to this Pilot. Absolutely no room. Plus cars are left at the pump while they go into McDonalds. What a total mess Pilot. read more
