We noticed a couple of sketchy tires on our RV, and didn't feel safe to travel home on them. Extraordinary Service! While getting fuel on the 97, I checked our RV trailer tires and noticed that the tread on two were showing signs of impending failure. While changing the worst tire I put a call into The Dalles Les Schwab to see if they had four trailer tires in stock and could install when I got there. I gave the size and was quoted a price and then told them to expect us shortly. We made 20 miles drive with no issues. Checked in at the desk and they got us in the queue. Not even 90 minutes later we were back on the road with 4 new tires mounted and balanced with brand new metal valve stems and heading home. My wife noticed my truck was missing a lug nut while on out camping vacation. My half ton truck was pulling a travel trailer so you can imagine I was a little stressed. BRILLIANT, generous, can't-recommend-highly-enough service. Driving our rental car (from Turo) from Longview, WA, to Sisters, OR , we ran over something just east of The Dalles and ended up with a flat rear tire on a 100+-degree day on a shadeless road (thankfully with a name) on the side of the highway. We unloaded all our stuff from the trunk onto the hot pavement to discover the there was no spare tire, only a repair kit that would not fix the hole that whatever we had run over had gouged into the tire. Turo service was useless -- they proposed towing the car back to Portland! I spent about 20 minutes going around in circles with them, getting more desperate by the minute! Fortunately, a farmer who lived nearby pulled in on the other side of the road, my husband ran across and asked for advice, and this guy called Les Schwab for us. Did I mention that it was already AFTER 5.30 pm? A young man from Les Schwab appeared within 10 minutes, took the tire, popped back into town, and was back less than 10 minutes later with a new (used) tire that he put on in a flash, free of charge! We were bewildered and so grateful to be able to get in our car, turn on the air conditioning, and drive on towards our destination! The New Zealand chocolate we gave the man from Les Schwab was nothing compared to the gift of safety, security, and ability-to-continue that we received from this company. The entire team at this location is absolutely amazing. My dad and I were on our way to La Grande to drop me off at my sister's house, about 5+ hours away from where we live. 3 or so hours into our drive, our truck broke down. We only waiting an hour for a tow, after calling Les Schwab. We got it towed to this shop and they said they would do everything they could to get it done the same night so we could get back on the road since we were so far from home. Our truck ended up having more problems than expected, so they referred us to a couple hotels and said they'd have it fixed for us as early as possible. They even drove us to the hotel and made sure we were safe & solid. The next day, they called shortly after opening to keep us in the know about our truck. They worked their asses off and got soooo much fixed within just a few hours after opening. AND, they picked us BACK UP from the hotel without any question to take us back to their shop. Hands down, not only the most efficient & hard working people but the most genuine help we've ever received from anywhere we've been for our troubles. Especially at such a short notice. They saw us in a bad situation, hours away from home and knew we were dealing with so much on top of the truck breaking down & this crew went above and beyond . Boat trailer tire started falling apart... Friday afternoon at 4:30... I-84E on our way for a weekend getaway.... Les Schwab Tire Center SAVED THE DAY!!! Last summer, my husband and I departed Portland on our way to Lake Chelan. 8 miles west of The Dalles, our boat trailer tire started losing its tread. Chunks were falling off the tire and we were very concerned that we wouldn't make it to our destination. We put on our hazard lights and slowly drove down I-84 hoping to make it to The Dalles. We called Les Schwab, told them about our tire size, our location, etc, and pleaded with them to wait for us. (They normally close at 5pm) We pulled into their lot at 4:55pm and their crew was there waiting for us! They changed our tire UNBELIEVABLY fast and were very courteous. We were very happy, grateful, and amazed at the awesome service we received. We made it to our weekend destination on-time and we were very lucky to have such a caring team of people who helped us out during our time of need. Thanks again! read more

We pulled in to get our tire pressure checked while on out way to Portland. Several of the employees looked at us and walked away, then kept looking at us and pointing at us from inside. We sat for about 10 minutes when a truck pulled up next to us and an employee immediately ran out to greet him. I am giving a low score as Les Schwabb in the Dalles is not following basic COVID safety measures. No plastic screen and I watched staff assisting customers many elderly without a Mask. Many are wearing covers that have absolutely no protection.When I asked about plastic screen I was told their "not interested in putting on up". That means you are increasing the risk of spreading the virus to both yourselves and customers. With the rising numbers of COVID your lack of responsibility puts us all at greater risk. When I moved to the area a year ago, I was relieved to find that the nearest business to my home, 13 miles as the crow walks rolling a flat tire, was Les Schwab's Tire Center. I've done business with them since 1972, because in that entire time, they've kept me on the road. Few years back, tne young sharp-eyed LS guy in Independence saved me the cost of a front-end job, because two other mechanics had entirely missed a bubble on the inside of a front tire. He didn't. Evan was his name. Just bought an extremely used 4Runner, and took it down to LS because I had a hunch they'd locate what I suspected was the problem, and they did. A mechanic years ago had improvised a little too creatively, and also overlooked a part that might have made a rear axle fail at speed. And years ago I decided that Les Schwab would receive every dollar of my lifetime tire budget. As a cautious shopper, I've looked around; the prices are fair, th work is superbly done, and more to the point, the entire business is honest. Hard to find that combination anywhere. read more

Our long story short, we were driving to the Oregon coast. It was three families. My father in law is in a wheel chair and elderly. He cannot get in and out of many vehicles. They had a tire blow out about an hour before The Dalles. They had called AAA to come help them, but after several hours realized that maybe this was not ideal. I had been in contact with Jason at Les Schwab, but of course, it was at 5:50 pm, just prior to the store closing. My husband and I journeyed back and we were able to at least change their tire to the "donut" and get them to the hotel. The very next morning, my husband and I went to the Les Schwab when it opened hoping that we could get the new tire and be on our way and of course, Jason in formed us that my in-law's Ford Flex takes special tires that no tire place in The Dalles had in stock. He called all over (or looked on the computer) and finally found two in Portland. Our next hurdle, they probably would not come until, possibly the next day. We asked if we could drive to Portland and pick them up and return to him and then have placed, which we did. As soon as we returned, Jason had it arranged that they would immediately place the tires on the car. We were then on our way to start our vacation. Fantastic service. I got a flat tire on the Interstate, installed the spare, and continued on my way. I found this Les Schwab online as I was driving and gave them a call. When I pulled in I was immediately greeted carside and pulled into a spot. Within 15 minutes Zach had the issue diagnosed and found a used tire with the same tread dimensions and tire size. If giving a 0 were possible that is what they would receive. We were prepared to change all 4 of my trucks tires after one blew out, however after they inspected my vehicle the tech working decided that only the tire that blew out needed to be replaced and the rest are fine. He talked me out of changing all of them because I was paranoid about having another blowout. Then about 70 miles later, the other rear tire blew out and once again I was stuck on the side of the highway in 95 degree heat waiting for a tow. When I called the Les Schwab to see if they would help me out (tow cost, tire cost, etc.) they refused to anything and told me it was not their fault. This is the single worst experience I have had with any tire place and I have avoided Les Schwab in the past (GO TO DISCOUNT TIRE OR ANYWHERE ELSE) but this really confirms it. If you are able to, go elsewhere for your tire needs, these people are clueless and have no integrity. This situation would have been a little better if they actually took responsibility for telling a customer that their tires are fine when in reality they were not, but of course they put on the blame on me. I have purchased 2 sets of tires for my tundra approximately $2000.plus brake and bearing work between Everett Washington and Hood River Oregon Les Schwab. Tried two times to get tires in The Dalles Oregon and was told that it would take 3 days so we made an appointment for the tires. On that day we were told the tires we wanted were in Hood River. Went to Hood River and since I really didn't have an appt. in Hood River I had a 9 hour wait.Today I had a nail in my wife's tire on her escape and was charged $14.00 for a repair that in every other Les Schwab is free of charge. Had 3 tire repairs over 15 years and never paid a cent before which is why I have always gone to this company. Never even questioned their prices because they treated me right. Well, now I will shop around and will be very sure The Dalles Oregon will not be included in my search. read more

Worse services I have had in years . I have been using les schwab for 30+years. no more Bs from The Dalles les schwab. Took my truck in for a shake they rebalance the tires. Take off to go camping and the damn thing shook all the way up and back. So i have to take it back down to have it rebalanced and the service tech tells me its out of balance by 1 ounce. And now your tire is seperating at 20,000 miles so im thinking they will stand behind there tires Nope!!! The manager tells me you need a receipt i have never needed to show a recipt as i buy new tires from them and they keep the records just like all the other cars i have had serviced there. So they say we cant find your purches on our computer so basicly the Manager told me to go home and find my recipt that the warinty paper wont work .they did not even try to find my purches receipt. So last ditch efort i call another les schwab and explain what has happen the lady was so nice shes like no problem let me call corportate and see what i can do within 5 mins she called back with my reciept and even faxed it down to The Dalles lesSchwab sence they cant seem to handle doing it.thank you Gresham lesSchwab you know how to treat customers.to the manager of the dalles les schwab you dropped the ball and by the attitude you had, you did not care. only thing he cared about is where i work as he asked me twice and i told him non of your buisness why you need to know where i work read more

The alignment shop is horrible. The manager flat out lied to my face and seriously damaged my rig. Had to take to different shop to get the damage repaired and to have the alignment done right. Avoid this one folks. read more
