The same applies to this 5 star resort despite what Wyatt would advertise. We rented a cute spacious clean room with a western view of magnificent sunsets! The room is outdated but spacious and comfortable. One can argue that you shouldn't be spending time in the resort suite on a Tropic of Cancer island, but it's still home await from home. The bathroom is large and attractive. The best is the large walk-in shower. the spa is excellent thanks to Lionel, Theresita, and Nora. While attractive and well located on a beach, it does *not* deliver. The management lacks experience or skills for this to qualify as 4-stars, definitely not 5-stars. Yes, it has an attractive facade and excellent location. The staff is friendly and pleasant. But the management seems to be unaware of the lack of quality in the overall experience. Even as i raised issues, I received a blank expression. the services are inconsistent, from room servicing, cleaning, restaurant, and amenities. we requested the concierge to reserve a golf cart 2 days in advance, and they failed to reserve the vehicle. What we did receive was a worn down poorly maintained vehicle that was unsatisfactory @ $150 US for 24hrs. The restaurant was not at the level of resorts of the same class or price range. They didn't disappoint! I got one of the best massages ever by Agustin. Initially, I wanted a quick shoulder and foot rub. I wasn't in a spa day mood, but I extended the time once the massage started. For good reasons! I was in heaven. Agustin rubbed every knot out of my body. After the body massage, I got my feet washed before getting the fish pedicure, which I didn't necessarily care for but decided to do once he told me how it worked. I saw they were clean and didn't put anyone's dirty feet in the tank without sanitizing them. The fishies went to town on my feet and left feeling softer than they had ever felt after a regular pedicure. I am happy to have found this place cause I will be returning when I am back in Cancun.

Do not pay full menu price for the massages! My husband and I got 2 80 minute massages for $270. We almost did the 1 hour beach side for $105. However we waited and sure enough like others mentioned when they are having slower days they walk around the pool with ipads and offer you deals. There is also someone set up outside the breakfast restaurant offering promotions. The spa facility was nice a tad dated in areas and not as nice as secrets maroma beach but overall it was nice! Very clean also if you put a dirty towel in the hamper it was gone within 5 minutes and taken to be cleaned. The hydrotherapy was a neat feature as well. You can add this on for $35 I believe. They start you out in a sauna then you walk into ICE cold water hot tub then you go into the steam room, ice cold water again then the hot tub and then onto the pool with tons of jets that are HIGH pressure and able to hit all of you aches in pains and you feel as if you got a mini massage by the second you walk out! Before your massage you are guided into a circle of lounge chairs and given cucumbers over you eyes with a cold washcloth to put over your face. Your assigned person will come find you and take you back to your room. My massage was probably one of the most relaxed I have ever felt in my entire life and I get them monthly. She knew exactly what spots were aching and got SO many knots out. I was sore that very next day but in a good way. I was so impressed because the girl who was assigned to me was tiny and I thought oh she won't be able to get my knots out she did above that and beyond. If I ever came back to the secrets playa mujeres resort I would most definitely come back and visit clara! the relaxation station after your service is super nice as well they have dried fruits delicious oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and different kinds of teas and fruit infused waters. Staff is very nice, chill, and doesn't get on you on time unless they have other appointments show up. Venue is very modern, clean, relaxing and just overall beautiful. The concierge wrote me back saying no, it's exclusively for hotel guests. That's a bit absurd as you'd think they would want people to experience and book the resort in the future based on a memorable experience. I guess they are too exclusive for our business. Too bad.

From the time you walk in, your person stays with you to the end and see through your spa experience. We had Abraham as our guide and were there for hydrotherapy, which I have never done. We first were directed to some of the most luxurious locker rooms I've seen and change out into their provided bathrobes and slippers. We then walked down this beautiful walkway into the hydrotherapy area. We began our experience with the sauna, which included cucumbers on eyes with a cooling rag on your head. Then came a shower. They give you 4 options, all are private showers with closing doors. I chose the one with the cold water bucket (it's literally a bucket that you stand under and pull a chain). Then came the steam room for a little over 5 minutes, followed y the cold plunge! After that freezing experience comes the massage pool, where you sit in warm water and have water jets massage you lower back. Finally came the big pool. The pool itself is pretty huge in size and has a waterfall spout you can stand under, water jets massage platforms in the pool, and water jets for your lower bag. My personal favorite was the two spouts that are shooting out water at a higher pressure as this really helped massage my neck, shoulders, and chest. Overall, I give this experience a 11/10. I definitely recommend the hydrotherapy spa experience if you're staying in Hyatt Ziva Cancun.
