For my daughter's birthday I wanted to find a panda piñata wearing a sombrero. Obviously this is a weird combination and didn't have luck finding one at party stores HOWEVER my boyfriend and I stumbled upon this store in the mall, and they were able to create our sombrero-wearing panda! The panda is from our daughter's favorite tv show and the sombrero was removable so we are able to keep it. We also ordered a frame for her photo booth area which came out so cute. I reached out to them via email to get an estimate for a piñata. It was Thanksgiving day when I requested the quote and did not expect a reply until Monday. Yesenia immediately replied with a reasonable price. Most important they could have it done a day before my sons birthday party. I work in the television industry and needed to have 5 pinatas re-decorated for an episode. Catch was, they had to be done in a day and a half. I brought the original pinatas over to the location and was shown around. I quickly found that I was in the presence of artist! Not only does the Pinata Design Studio do pinatas, it also does cardboard sculptures and other paper-based creations, some in very large scale. Yesenia and her staff not only did a great job redecorating our pinatas, they completed them far sooner than anticipated, which was fantastic for the production. Wow. What happened???? Last year I got a custom Cheeky Chocolate pinata from these guys. I spoke to a girl and she was great. Got back to me quickly, answered all of my questions, and was promised to have my pinata ready by said date. Last year everything went smoothly and when I went to pick up the pinata it was AWESOME!! There craftsmanship is amazing. So why am I leaving a bad review. Well apparently I am not going to be able to get a pinata from them this year. Not because I don't want to but because they do not want my business. On 4/10 I sent an email to Joel with a picture asking if they can make that pinata. The next day I got a response saying "Yes we can make this; thank you for the picture. We will get you a quote and instructions real soon." Okay. 4/17. No response. I emailed just to follow up. No response. 4/21 emailed AGAIN saying I understand if they are busy but I do need an answer. 4/24 still NO ANSWER. Emailed AGAIN saying I need an answer my Monday or I will half to move on to someone else. Response received "You will get a positive, detailed response by end of day today. Please excuse the delay...we were in the midst of several large orders that were due and they consumed our time." Today 4/28 nope, no response. Found someone else. I texted a different place this morning and received a response within 10 min saying yes, they can make my pinata and will have it ready by next week. THAT'S HOW YOU DO BUSINESS. I am very disappointed in this place this year. I feel that because my order wasn't a BIG and EXPENSIVE order that my request was completely disregarded and pinned as not being important. read more
