I have been using the Kass circle store for over 10 years, and the people that lived in my house also used them. No more. I needed a new pump and they charged me $2000. for a pump that even pool cleaners don't understand. They installed the new pump and it had to be adjusted, I called and the owner came out and did not adjust it. He said in the morning it should be able to move my vacuum, it is free floating. So I went back to the store to pick up a part I was told was $10. not it was $30.00. I was also told quote ( I put you down for 10 on Wednesday so I called when no one showed. Then he said he never told me that and it would be 10 to 6 REALLY that's all day. I had things to do as it's Easter and I have other plans. I won't be home and I can't do any other day. This worker named Dominic or however you spell his last name came up to up saying is everything today and I said yes and thought everything was ok but when we put our items in the counter he gave us such a huge attitude and refused to get our items checked outhe got really angry and kicked us out of the store for no reason after we asked him to calm down and he told us to never come AGAIN. The man with the long dark hair stood at the back of the store (not doing anything) looking at us but didn't come to ring us out. After waiting for a bit we decided to leave. As we walked out of the store he then came to the register. He saw our items that were left at the register and then looked at us through the window. He didn't try to stop us to make it right (to give him the benefit of the doubt that it was him being oblivious). We will go elsewhere to shop where they want their business supported. read more

Yesterday, May 1st 2022 my pool pump stop working. I called Pinch A Penny located in Northcliff in Spring Hill, FL where I purchase the pump. The person on the phone I told him my dilemma with the pump, I asked what was the warranty time on the pump. The person 2 yrs warranty. I told him that I purchase the pump less than 2 yrs and that I will bring in the pump to get checked. Within the hour I took the pump to Pinch A Penny, the person who wrote the ticket with my name and phone number attached to the time of purchase. He has confirmed a 2 yr warranty on the pump. He said in the event the pump was still in warranty, that it would be replaced for another pump. That someone will contact me tomorrow and I said no problem as long it didn't take long because I needed my pool running. Today, May 2nd, 2022 a Mike from Pinch A Penny called me to tell me that my pump is out of warranty, and that the warranty only covers 1 year. I told him why a Pinch A Penny employees tell me over the phone that the pump was cover for 2 yrs. And also an employee who wrote the ticket for the pump confirmed 2 yr warranty on the pump. MIKE said he was going to talk to his manager and that the manager will call me back. The manager did not called me back, but Mike did and that the pump was $263 for a replacement, and that they were not going to honor the 2 yrs. Tgis is the last time I will be using Pinch A Penny for my pool needs. read more

DONT buy anything with a rebate or store promotion card and better yet not shop here. We had a $75 promotion card for buying a pool vacuum. Most all other company's don't put an expiration on their cards but pinch a penny does which I did not realize even though it was stated on the card. Again most companies don't have an expiration so I really had not noticed that. Because of COVID 19 we have not gone inside a store or restaurant in 1 year because too many people in FL don't wear masks and my husband is high risk. I just discovered after talking to customer service that there is nothing they can do and I lost $60.23 that was left on the card. I for one will never set foot inside another pinch a penny again...ever. Funny I talked to them last year about pool service but they were not taking new customers at the time. I said that was fine, but could they tell me what their rates were. They could not tell me the rates, but would have someone call me...they never did. Just really poor customer service. read more

Employees are so polite and helpful. The owner was very rude, defensive and had a I don't care attitude and made a public bullying display of herself in front of 6 employees by calling me a name as i approached the exit door. I then turned, walked back and confronted her, she did not repeat it to my face, I told her i was calling corporate headquarters on her behavior, she then apologized as I was leaving again. ....What was this all about? May 4th she suggested and sold me 2 large jugs of liquid chlorine for my pool, an employee put them in a tray in the trunk area if my car. 10 minutes after I left the store, with my a.c. running in my new car, windows up, i was in an accident, which involved, an older gentleman with his dog, and a mom and her two babies. I had no idea I was ill from the 2 jugs of chlorine. My car was a hatchback, my backseats were down, letting the "ventilated caps" seep chlorine fumes into my car. Thankfully no one died. I told the owner what happened, showed her pics of the 2 jugs of chlorine and 3 smashed up cars, she had no concern what so ever. ............ I suggested maybe more warnings and employee awareness of, telling the customer if their trunk area is open to suggest its safer to keep this liquid in an enclosed area. Had she, or the employee been aware to watch out for their customers, this might not happen to someone else. She said "that makes no sense, you are one in a thousand, two thousand, three thousand and I never heard chlorine effecting any one that way!" She just didn't care. I replied someone might step in tomorrow and if everyone is aware and the loader takes 2 seconds to make sure back seats are not down, it might save someones life. She said something arguementative, i gave up, told her thank you i will take it up with my lawyer and walked to the door to leave and this is when she decided to call me a "crazy lady." ********* I hope just writing this review helps someone else avoid a future disaster when dealing with pool liquid chemicals. I care. This incident could have taken lives, babies lives, a mother, wife and somones dad. Its a shame the owner of this pinch a penny who sells pool chemicals doesn't care. read more

I went to Pinch A Penny when I moved to Fl. Because I now have a pool and knew NOTHING about it. So they sub-contracted a guy to come out and basically teach me how to care for my own pool. He was---- and still is... Fantastic. Shows up immediately or on time. Extremely knowledgeable. And I had ALL the faith in the world in this company after that. Then our pool started leaking. I called Pinch a penny seeing if they could refer someone. They did- His name is "Lane". He has had to come here several times. Here is the issue. He will text saying "I will be there at noon on Friday." Well - 3pm rolls around and he drives up (IF he comes at all). It happened every time we had to call him. 7 times total now. He did fix the leak and we got a year guarantee.... it's leaking again and we had to call him again yesterday. He was supposed to be here 45 minutes ago. So if you need a referral for a pool leak. DO NOT use this man. Our pool still leaks...Just go somewhere else. For pools sales -needs- or equipment, This place is golden. Referrals- ONLY on the one guy who teaches you about pools. I've been going to this pool store for many years for all my needs. Adam always greets me and knows my system inside and out. I know when I go into the Northcliffe store that I'm going to get what I need at the best price and they will take great care of me. I've watched friends have nothing but issues with the other pool stores in the area and I've been with them a couple times to see it myself. No more green or yellow pools for them as they went to see Adam and Mary Anne at Pinch a Penny Northcliffe. Highly recommend them. read more
