It was OK overall. The facilities are great and service for the most part, also great. They have WEIRD rules, like make sure you are always wearing your wrist band, and nobody checks, at all. Also the parking pass, nobody ever checked. However... and that's a big however.... They have people patrolling for folks using firewood that they suspect... suspect... wasn't purchased there. First off - the wood was purchased locally, secondly, get out of my truck bro. Talk about creep factor and nickel and dime factor. 125 bucks a night to reserve a spot here and they play little games with the firewood fees. Felt like a swat team invasion. Points off because the basketball net was broken on both hoops... nah. They cost 5 bucks on Amazon, stock up and fix the nets. Points off because they had construction workers hammering and using nail guns on their new pavilion at 7AM on Sunday. Get a clue on that one... talk about fail. We've been loyal guests at Pine Acres for years and brought extended family this summer, five cabins in total, representing nearly $10,000 in bookings. Unfortunately, during our stay, we discovered a bed bug in our cabin. It was later confirmed by both a service technician and a staff member, who stated it was an adult male bed bug, with other remnants found in the window sill. This was not speculation; it was documented and discussed openly with staff. See review from 2021 on TripAdvisor, which also confirmed bed bugs and terrible customer service. What followed was a three-day disruption: We were moved far away from our group, isolating us from the family trip we had planned. We had to launder all our belongings at our own expense, over $100, to ensure safety and avoid contamination. We repeatedly requested to speak with management to resolve the issue during our stay and were told we'd receive a follow-up phone call after the owner returned. That call never came. Instead, we received a cold, dismissive email days later, stating that "nothing was found," which contradicted what staff had already confirmed in person. It felt like an effort to deflect, not to resolve. We never asked for anything unreasonable. We hoped for: An honest acknowledgment of the issue. A direct, respectful conversation. A two-day reimbursement + laundry to cover the undeniable inconvenience and costs incurred. Instead, we were met with defensiveness and misrepresentation. A public response from the business has even falsely claimed we made threats (see my google review) --something we absolutely did not do. We simply said we would share our experience, and now we are. This review is about accountability. What this experience revealed is that when things go wrong, Pine Acres lacks the leadership, communication, and integrity to handle it professionally. Great businesses build trust through how they respond to problems, not by denying them or shifting blame. Customer service is not about making a sale today. It's about building relationships that last. That means showing up with honesty, empathy, and the courage to do the right thing, especially when it's uncomfortable. Sadly, Pine Acres missed that opportunity. And that's why we'll be looking elsewhere next summer. You should too. read more

My absolute FAVORITE camp ground. We literally stopped going to New Hampshire since we found this place. The pool, splash pad, hot tub, sites and bathrooms are always clean. There is SO MUCH to do with the kiddos, as they have many things planned for the entire family, if you'd like to follow their itinerary. The camp store is loaded with everything you need and even offers ice cream and fresh food to go, if you'd like. I find that prices are beyond fair. Go fishing, boating, rent a golf cart, rent a cabin, camp in tents and RVs! This campground had it all. Don't listen to the negativity. We're here in early September. The cabins are smoke free yet there's a slight cigarette smell in the bathroom and bedroom. It's pretty quiet and staff is hesitant about opending the pool and hot tub. we still paid full price yet have to wait until someone wants to come and open it. The a/c unit isn't working. Park was nice, a lot of sites packed into it though. Amenities were great, pool wasn't too packed. Provided a lot of activities for variety of ages. There was one activity for the young ones which they were supposed to do story but they said no one returned the books so no story time. There was also supposed to be a parachute but it had a hole so no parachute either. A lot of inconveniences which seemed extreme, wristbands that were never checked. A limit on 2 adults in an RV which had a full bed and also a pull out couch. Cabin cost a lot, little details were very upsetting. Porch or chairs were worn, floors dirty, soap dispenser didn't work, provided oven mitts were dirty. The bathroom was extremely tiny and smelled of pee. Absolutely loved this Campground. Extremely clean for tenters who share shower and restrooms. The kids loved all the amenities it offered. Campsites were nicely distant apart so you didn't feel on top of any other campers. We enjoyed the pool but the kids LOVED the bike park! It's nice to go to a campground that you don't have to leave. The store items were not outrageously priced, and the food they served was great! Highly recommend this campground to families who need things for the kiddos to do and don't want to have to leave to do them. read more

So this is supposedly our water view on campsite 99 what is below of this ravine is a nice swamp bringing lots of mosquitoes to our campsite! don't expect them to answer the phone if you call them, The customer service is definitely lacking if they are to be open they should have someone answer the phone or at least call you back. We had a campsite near us that had smoke coming from it constantly for two days and we couldn't get a hold of the office to have them do something about it. We were told everyone that walks out of their campsite has to wear a mask, nobody is doing that only me and my husband it seems! So far, I'm not impress with pine acres camp resort in oakham, ma! 1. They put us, with a 33ft camper, in the smallest spot, when right now, 1/2 the spots are empty on the grounds! We don't even have room to park the truck or even my small suv for that matter! We are parked in the campsite next to us. 2. We asked for a spotter to help back in to said small spot and the guy literally drove in his cart to the spot and said "there it is, back in" and left! Thankfully our neighbor helped spot us. 3. We ordered cheese fries from the cafe and we got a hand full of burnt fries and 2 condiment cups of cold and hard cheese and it cost me $4.00! Not sure i'll ever come back here! I believe in second chances, and gave them another chance, which they screwed up again! Breakfast, messed up 2/3 orders, no, bacon, burnt bacon on meals, guess that is what you give customers when you have inexperienced teens cooking in your cafe! I did get a partial refund! Pine acres jump pad is only open 1 hour a day and during that 1 hour, the jump pad is mobbed with kids, what a joke! Kayak and or boat rentals are $15.00 an hour per person, another rip-off! Great family resort. We come back every year for the 4th of July week. The fireworks display is unbeatable. The kids are able to ride bikes, scooters and participate in various activities. They love being able to kayak, fish and play in the lake. Pros: family friendly, access to lake, clean Cons: limited store, pool is small and overcrowded I'd love to see a them invest in a better selection in the store. We stayed here the week before Christmas with a truck that has a roof top tent. If you are traveling in the great northeast you know that 90% of camping is closed and all state park camping facilities are closed as well, but not Pine Acres Family Campground. They were happy to take us in and turn on the hot water on for our three night stay. From the first conversation to our check out every question was answered and keys were provided for after hours/ winter access. The first night showers were cold but we talked to management and they fixed it right away. They sell wine and beer in the campground (that alone should be 5 stars) 4 stars until the Pool opens up earlier and stays open later. & also the Country Store stops Gouging you for Fire wood. They don't want you bringing in your own fire wood and you have to buy theirs. But It's basically a $1 per log. This place is Soo Soo Clean!! The Showers , the restrooms, the grounds, the tent site, the beach, the Hot tub, the pool! Everything was very clean. It is a little pricy but that comes into play when your camping at a resort. The food in the Campstore was also a little Pricey for what was delivered. If I'm paying $8 for a cheeseburger, it should be somewhat good. Our 3 cheeseburgers and two chicken strip meals were $40. The cheesburgers were cooked Very Well done. The chicken strips were good. One size coffee cup in the Campstore is a little bit of a drag. Along with them opening at 8:30am Getting over the small nuances of what camping is at a resort, knowing you are going to pay $$ for whatever you did not bring with you. Once your over that fact. The rest of the experience is very nice. I can see myself staying here for a whole week. If you can bring your own wood to burn that is not firewood, would be a good option. It maybe cheaper just buying 2x4 studs and cutting them up to burn. If you can get Oak wood flooring cheaply, that would be a better option. Fishing here was great for the kids. They each must have caught about 5 fish in a very short time. They were all sunnies and we threw them back, but the kids had a great time. What I enjoyed about this place was how everything was a short walk away. I have been to many campgrounds where everything was so far away! If the Pool had bathrooms attached to the area that would make it alot better also. I didn't see one kid get out of the pool and go down to the bathroom, you know what that means. peepee pool. Clean. That's the best thing you can say about a place you plan on staying when you're tent camping. The last thing you want, is to show up and feel gross before you've tented. The staff are extremely friendly and there is ample staff present to keep the facilities clean. There are a lot of camping options. We chose to camp in an electric/water site, but there are a ton of sites available that are wilderness tenting tucked way up on the hillside where you can easily forget that you're just a few minutes from the hustle and bustle of Worcester. There were plenty of seasonal campers and it wasn't a quiet stay on Saturday night at all. Which is fine, it's a resort. They have activities lined up for kids and other stuff. Our daughter enjoyed the Ice Cream Breakfast on Sunday morning. They just added a Jump-House, it's a ~50x50 inflatable air pad where the kids can jump and bounce. My 2 year old loved it. They playscape is new and well kept and there is a cute little play house that my daughter decided was a "breakfast nook" where she would take our order in the window. We were lucky enough to be there on a really off weather weekend, it was a warm enough for a beach day! The beach was clean and the swim area in Dean Lake was clean too. This is definitely a family friendly resort, there were kids roaming around all day, on bikes, skateboards, walking, running, in general being kids. It was nice. It is also a very dog friendly resort. It seemed everyone had a dog, as did we. They have a little dog park set off away from the sites to let the dog off leash for a bit. There is also a dog wash for the post hiking adventures. We took the pup to the "dog beach", it was awesome. She loved romping in the water. It's nice to let your dog be a dog every now and then after being couped-up by city life. The restrooms and showers were very clean, and I witnessed each shower stall being cleaned each day we were there. This is nice, clean showers after waking up in a tent are joyous. The only con we had, was that we stayed Sat-Mon. It seemed the "resort" shut down on Sunday afternoon and nothing was open. And the same on Monday morning, it was a ghost town. We didn't get to see the family arcade and the mining was open only a very short time. Probably the result of staying in September instead of July/Aug. The other important detail is firewood. There is a slew of laws that govern the masses about taking firewood across state lines as it is, but they go one step further and don't permit any firewood to brought into the park. They charge $6 a bundle for their 6-8 piece bundles. If you like to have a roaring fire the entire time you stay, you'll be paying a pretty penny for it. We had 3 bundles which was plenty for a two night stay. My family already looks forward to an extended stay next Summer. read more

This was our first time as a family staying in a cabin. The cabin was cute small but had everything we needed. I'm giving only four stars because the toilet was not clean, I had luckily brought cleaning products with me so I cleaned it. Also, there was only 1 towel bar that hangs above the toilet seat. I understand that it is a small space but there are foldable towel bars. I mean space saving options available. There's good and bad with this place, but the good outweighs the bad. We had a wilderness tent site up the hill from the activities. It was a steep walk back and forth to the activities, so be prepared. Good: Beautiful, well maintained grounds, lots of activities, great pool, boat rentals for the lake, scenic beach area, arcade, warm showers, and Bike trails. Bad: It's expensive for camping, but given the amenities, I can handle that. The Wi-Fi was charged at an hourly rate, which is lame. Friday night the party crowd moved in and were cranking music until 2am. Eventually people started yelling at them to quiet down and I heard a golf cart come up (I'm assuming someone called the office). They need to police that much better, it was ridiculous. read more

I just got back from a 5 day visit we decided to take here again after not coming here for 8 years. Never again. We had the idea that it would be a nice visit since the last time we been there, maybe a couple upgrades here and there. Quite the opposite. It was probably worse than it was before. Their staff was horrible and they have no respect for children. My kids were out having fun at the basketball field at night, being respectful, and a worker snuck up while they were playing and shut off all the lights. At this point it was about 10:08. It went pitch black with no warning. One of us could've gotten hurt. We looked over to see him at the light switch and we ask "No warning, just shut them all off" and he goes "oh I tried". We just shook it off got out stuff and proceeded to walk back when a staff cart stopped us to ask a bunch of questions like we were doing something wrong! He was so rude and it's not like the kids were unsupervised, they had adults with them! His name was Al so watch out for him. He asked "what are you guys doing out this late" and he pretended we didn't see him shut off the lights to get us in trouble on purpose! Watch out for your kids at this place. Also if you do take a trip here, I recommend you check the weather to avoid rain because we headed there on a rainy weekend and their "gravel" road has more dirt than gravel so their roads and sites turned into a mud mess. Yelp There are a few things you need to know before you stay here. Yeah the bathrooms are clean and they have lots of activities. But my advice to you would be to camp elsewhere and here's why. First off expect to spend an extended amount of time trying to check in. I was the fifth car in line and ended up spending 30+ minutes just checking in. Oh and if your checking in after dark expect to get lost trying to find your camp site. Yeah they give you a map but its best suited for starting you campfire. Somebody thought it was a great idea not to put signs up directing you. So good luck turning that RV around in the dark! Second expect to be plagued with rules! I drove across three states to see my family and after I got settled here I found out they were turned away. Im sorry I paid $68.00 a night for two nights I should be allowed any visitor I want! My elderly parents had to call me and tell me they were turned away, despite the staff demanding every type of contact information short of a DNA sample upon checkin. Third expect to be picked dry with hidden fees!! You are not allowed to bring in any firewood and if you want a campfire you are FORCED to buy their over priced wood. I paid $24.00 for 4 SMALL bundles of wood that was WET and UNUSABLE! I even brought a plumbers blowtorch with me and still failed to light a fire. Im not sure but I think they store the wood in the lake.. Also expect a visit from the security at 12:01am if you somehow are able to get fire lit. I was sitting by my fire quietly enjoying my night until I was approached by a very rude security person threatening that if I didn't put my fire out in 15 minutes that he would be back to do so. When I was putting it out I noticed I was being stalked by their security. Despite the fire being they still showed up and poured water on it! I don't need this type of harassment from anyone. And I really don't see the need for such a threatening attitude from their staff. This is especially really sad considering I paid so much to stay here. We stayed in a "furnished" RV, which came with several amenities, including a s'mores kit waiting for us. Check-in was easy and efficient, and the staff was very friendly. We had our own private dock, and a spacious area to enjoy our camping experience. The hot tub and pool are fantastic, and there was always something going on around the camp. Disclaimer: This post is being written by someone who can only take nature in small doses. That said, we stayed in a cabin, and figure there are really no reviews of cabin living for this resort, I would report. We had 19 people and 4 cabins near each other, so that was really cool. Most of the complaints on here are about pricing, but they let us know all about prices before we booked, so I knew that going in, so no complaints there. I also read all the rules on the website, so not going to complain about those either. Guessing they were added after the people here complained or something. Cabins, were clean, well kept, but small. Expect very small. Like side shuffle into bed small. But that's ok. They were clean, got a paper every day dropped off, and a woman came by to water the flowers. I actually saw a hummingbird while drinking coffee on the deck one morning. Very cute. I also liked all the kids running and riding around being kids, and how other campers drove very slow letting those kids be kids. They also have a really short but nice trail to run. Staff was always nice and fast. Once we went with 11 of us to get ice cream at the store and they got us settled fairly quickly. They have added some fresh fruits/veggies for the people who said there was no food, but it's definitely not a market, it's a tiny store, with very minimal food. Mini golf is sorta falling apart, don't charge for that. Pool is small, and was packed every day, which is was hot, so expected. Add more shade though. No place to sit if you are not a sun bather. I think 2 umbrellas for like 100+ people. I totally stole shade. I was a shade stealer. Activities were nice to have, but kids were having to much fun at the lake to take part, so I can't comment on whether they were actually happen or fun. I do want to mention, I fell and fell hard. So if you are staying in a cabin and it rains be very careful on the stairs, they get like slimy when wet. So, left with a set of bruised ribs. On May 4th 2020 I called and made a reservation with Pine Acres family camping resort. The next day I noticed I did not receive a email confirmation even though my card had been charged. So I called back that day to find out why as it turns out I was told Pine Acres screens people when they call they call even take notes so they can pick and choose who they like or don't like. This was told to me by a staff manager I think her name is Kelly. Unbelievable!! I have been camping for over 30 years at dozens of campgrounds in many different states I have never known any Campground or business to operate this way. The staff at this Campground are rude arrogant and inconsiderate in fact they act like they're doing you a favor. We loved our stay at Pine Acres. We had a site close to the water. We fished, swam and relaxed. The caretakers were wonderful. The grounds were clean. All of our neighbors staying at the camp were very responsible and really adhered to lights out noise time, which was important for us. I am an online teacher and I was able to connect to WiFI and meet with my students without any problems. We hope to return to Pine Acres soon. Highly recommend them. read more

We LOVE it here! This was our first time camping with our toddler. We used to backpack camp before children. We ended up renting a cabin to have the comforts of home. The cabin was extremely clean, and faced the lake which was beautiful. The grounds are clean and well kept. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The pool area is also very clean. There are activities for the families every single day and so so much to do. We really loved the "rules" like quiet times. There was never any unruly behavior from others and people respected the rules of the campground. We will be back! read more

The resort is lovely. Very Very clean. The staff was washing down the walls in the bathrooms clean. The pool was clean but FRIGID! The Grounds were clean as well. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They have a small little store/cafe on site. The food at the cafe was EXCELLENT! The only issue are many of the other campers that were attracted to the location. If you are looking for a nice, small, quiet campground, this is not it! Many of the fellow campers had several people on their site. Kids were EVERYWHERE! A lot of drunkin' partying going on. I am not sure why but the police were by a couple of times. Well we aren't sure what other people who have previously reviewed experienced but we have been here two days now and this place is an amazing camping resort. The pool, arcade, country store, amazing lake and the views and much more. The paddle boat was amazing fun with my family. This place is top notch, I would however not recommend the pull through site 61 if you like a little more privacy as it's next to all the attractions and has a lot of traffic near it. There are plenty of beautiful secluded sites though so pick what fits your family best, I wanted a short walk to pool and easy setup. Everything so far has been extremely fair priced and the staff have all been friendly and helpful. We will be back here many times. Also for active duty military the participate in the tents for troops program so we received two free nights during our stay which was awesome. I would encourage anyone judging this campground based on the yelp reviews to also check other sites with reviews and you will see these on here aren't accurate. I have to say we have been loyal campers for Pine Acres for years. This past weekend, we had reservations for Columbus Day weekend, as we have done for the past 4 years. My wife called on the morning of our arrival to make sure we could check in early. She was first told that there was no reservations, then once she provided confirmation info, she was told the reservation was cancelled because there was a balance due. They never emailed or called to inform us of the balance due, they just cancelled the reservation and screwed us. Teh told us that they placed a credit for us, instead of a refund being given. As if we want a credit there, as we will never go back. It is a nice campground, but the poor management and customer service do not make it worth it. After multiple emails, no response. read more

My family and I have been looking forward to camping here for the past three years, but it was incredibly pricey. We finally bit the bullet, and are sad that we did. The facilities are great-nice pool, ice cream bar, playground- but that is it. There is a nice lake, but small beach. We found that there was not a lot to do. The campground was INCREDIBLY crowded! The sites have absolutely no privacy and barely enough room for a camper and picnic table. Twice during our less than 24 hour stay (booked for three day weekend) we saw an employee reprimand two different people. One in which he started looking IN the camper's vehicle windows (!!!) and the second when a kid had a volleyball near the pool. We have camped MANY different locations, and found this to be the worst one we have stayed at, especially given the inflated price tag. Definitely not worth the price :( read more
