Four bone grafts that Dr. Carney implanted failed and dislodged from my teeth. I brought some of the dislodged bone graft to Dr. Carney's office on a walk-in basis. His dental assistant was indifferent about the bone graft failures. When I asked Dr. Carney about the failed implants on follow-up visits, Dr. Carney was unsympathetic and dismissive--completely unlike my first visit with him. Dr. Carney did not see the need for intervention to correct his failed implants, yet Dr. Carney said that he would likely have to pull the loose teeth. I now have four permanent loose teeth. I have pain when I eat, drink and even when I talk as air crosses my teeth's exposed roots. Dr. Carney exercises his medical discretion aggressively and diagnoses aggressively. I regret relying on Dr. Carney's 4-star and 5-star reviews and I profoundly regret visiting Dr. Carney's dental practice!

I received a coupon in the mail for a new patient visit that included x-rays, cleaning and a consultation for $59, which prompted me to go ahead and give them a try. The service was great from beginning to ending. The hygienist was very friendly, gentle and thorough. We chatted throughout my appointment like we've know each other for years. I think her name is Kassandra. My experience with her was so great that I made an appointment for my son on the way out. They also give you a goodie bag which includes a toothbrush, floss, toothpaste and small bottle of Listerine. My previous dentist no longer takes my insurance so that is why I was changing offices. Upon check in the receptionist was not that friendly and was not even interested in the fact that I had a secondary dental insurance. Yes I know my appointment was on a Saturday and most insurances are closed, but thought she could have it to follow up on the next business day. Once the assistant took me back he seemed like he had no idea why I was there. Apparently they thought I was just coming for a second opinion for the bridge. Got that straight or so I thought. We then proceeded to go do X-rays and he kept going out of the room. Then the front desk person came back asking me questions as to why I was there. She again said the online appointment said for second opinion. Finally was seen by the dentist who seemed very friendly and helpful. He gave me his assessment of how we would proceed, but would need to speak with the lab to clarify the best option for me. Then upon checking out the front desk person stated they would need to contact my insurance the following Monday, which was Memorial Day and I knew insurance would be closed. So I left and was told the office would contact me about my further treatment once they spoke with my insurance (they needed to see if this would be considered new or if I needed prior authorization since another dentist had started the bridge work). I knew I would wait a few days to give them time to call my insurance. I waited until later that week and tried to call the office to see what they found out from my insurance. I did not reach a person as the message said they were all busy, but would return my call. We are now at June 10th and I still have NOT heard one word from them. I guess they do not need my business so I will seek treatment elsewhere. I felt like they thought I was bothering them by being there. Do not go there if you want to be treated as a person. Once again the dentist was nice, but the staff lacked any compassion. I would not go here unless this was the only place in the world to go to. I work as a receptionist myself and I try very hard to make each patient feel welcome and appreciated.

I had my first appointment with Dr. Stone in January. I brush twice a day and floss EVERY night…read more The hygienist praise me for how well my mouth looked and told me to keep up the great work then Dr. Stone came in with a list of work that needed to be done. Two crowns multiple filling new/reduce older one from when I was younger I started treatment immediately as I was horrified that my mouth had rotting teeth in it. After the second filling and my permanent crown being placed I was having severe pain and sensitivity when eating or drinking even using my mouth wash shot a pain through my face. I notified Dr. Stone and he told me a lot of work was done it's probably sensitive give it about a week. Three weeks later he finally gets me in as the pain had not gotten better and redid the filling and put me back into a temporary the margins on the crown were off allowing food and drink to touch my shaved down tooth. After he fixed the filling I haven't had any more pain the crown on the other hand I had several more appointments for finally got my third permanent in April and I've still having problems I bite my cheek and food just stuck in it. I explained to him I wanted to get a second opinion on the crown since I was still having issues to which he agreed to refund the cost of it so I would have to double pay. While waiting for the second opinion I scheduled for two more teeth to be done on a Monday at 7am. I had my records sent to the other dentist to review the crown and when Sunday before my 7am appointment rolled around I realized I never received a confirmation for my appointment. I messaged Dr. Stone and he informed me that because I had my records sent to a different dentist they removed me as a patient and canceled all my future appointments. I was never notified of this nor did I receive the cancelation notice when they removed my appointment. I called to get put back on the schedule since I made it clear I was just getting a second opinion on my crown. Dr. Stone then told me he would need to have a consult with me before scheduling any further appointments to make sure we were on the same page. I agreed and they scheduled me three weeks out. I email them requesting an earlier appointment and asked that if he wanting a meeting to release me as his patient to just let me know so I can figure out the next steps. They called and offered me an earlier appointment never mentioning his releasing me as a patient. Well today I go in for our consultation to make sure we are on the same page and he tells me because of the issues I've had with his work it really bothers him because he's very type A and he doesn't feel comfortable treating me anymore. I still had 3 other appointments to complete my care plan and now I no longer have a dentist. I am being penalized because he isn't happy with his own work. I am extremely disappointed as I was never disrespectful during the entire process even though it was extremely frustrating to not have the work done right the first time. The last time talked to Dr.Stone I expressed that I felt he was getting tired of dealing with me because of all the problems that have come up in my treatment and he responded "I'm here from 7-4 everyday whether it's you in my chair or someone else I'm here either way so that doesn't matter." Apparently that was a lie because my next appointment was canceled and I was pulled along for two weeks just to be told I need to find a new dentist.
