Very pretty view of the lake especially early in the morning. We were looking for a place last minute at night with my husband and came across this. The owner let us check in really late while most places said they were closed. She was so sweet and and waited for us to arrive and than made sure everything was good with our space, gave us directions and all since it was really dark and most of the side roads don't have good lighting.

The campground is very nice, but the downfalls really show... I worked at landers River trips for…read moreover 7 years in my youth which is pretty close to soaring eagle and being able to compare and contrast really shows here.... The biggest thing QUIET HOURS... the rude workers in the office expect you to just run to your tent put the fire out and go night night at 11pm SHARP. Yes I understand shut the music down at 11pm but when kids and parents are screaming at 6:00am in the morning it's perfectly ok?! Crazy "double standards". ALSO from my years of River safety and experience the life jackets that they have, are ripped, missing buckles, old and are past their expiration... if you want to enjoy camping without a headache and cognitive people go to LANDERS RIVER TRIPS!!!!! God forbid a yn wants a good trip.

There's a crystal clear creek running through the campground. The creek and the river are magical places for kids to play. They search for tadpoles and other critters and can swim in the protected lagoon, which gets deeper gradually. Finally, you can lay in the rushing river water for the ultimate spa experience. Can you tell we liked it here? The campground is run by a family who has had the land in their hands for generations. They are excited and kind about sharing it with visitors and have created an awesome culture of friendliness and respect among campers and the campground owners. There is a well equipped camp store with everything you might have forgotten and even local pottery. The bathrooms and grounds are very clean. They also run tube, canoe and kayak trips where they'll drop you off upriver and you'll finish at Soaring Eagle. We did a tube float down the river which was the highlight of the trip. There weren't many others on the river with us which was a special thing. They also rent canoes and kayaks. We'll try those next time.

The review AFTER the initial review!!…read more So I wrote a review and deleted it when the owner of the campground came to our campsite and kicked myself, my husband and my children off the site after writing the review! ! Apparently, you can be a business owner, have a PUBLIC website and give guests the option to review their stays BUT if it's not to their liking, they are allowed to use your power and authority, to do what they want. In this case, it was in the middle of me cooking my family dinner. He didn't even have the common courtesy to let us have dinner before telling us to pack it up. This all stemmed from my 13 year old son and his friend riding bikes too fast, throwing rocks at each others FEET, walking around with a flashlight and ALLEGEDLY jumping over the counter in the ice cream shop. First of all, they were riding BICYCLES!!! Peddle bikes, NOT ELECTRIC! So how fast can you actually go on a BIKE!! The rock "throwing".... They were waiting patiently OUTSIDE the gate to the pool for my husband to finish his conversation with the owner, who told him we were NOT ALLOWED to bring the boys back to his campground together again!!! Why would you tell someone that!!! They are BOYS... ages 12 and 13! They were NOT throwing rocks at people, there was no one in the vicinity of them... they threw a couple SMALL pebbles at each others feet!! As far as the flashlight episode goes, they were WALKING around the campground, in the dark, at night, with a flashlight that may have ACCIDENTALLY shined in a campsite or two while WALKING!!! They were not PURPOSELY doing it! Lastly, the jumping on the counter in the ice cream shop!!! GIVE ME A BREAK!!! You can CLEARLY and very EASILY walk around the counter if you want to! Jesus, the friend that came with my son had to be helped climbing in the back of my husbands truck!! There is NO WAY that him or my son climbed on a glass counter!! This campground is definitely geared more toward the elderly and the retired! Most sites there are permanent so the "weekenders" or the "vacationers" get the short end of the stick. They do not get the same treatment or respect as the "regulars" especially if they have kids! Boys are boys!!! I understand they need to be respectful and responsible, however, it's a campground, they are on peddle bikes, messing around with each other, minding their own business and hurting not ANYONE! My opinion would be do not go here if you have children, especially preteen to teenager boys. There is not much geared towards kids at this place. Almost all campgrounds have pools, ice cream and a playground. There are other options. If you have children, maybe pick a better place that is more for your children. Unfortunately, camping at a place that doesn't put children first, will no longer be my first choice. I also want to add that my husband and I don't smoke marijuana but it was definitely present at the campground... so my boys can't be "boys" but I have to smell that crap everyday I'm camping, because it's "legal" For years, I would have proudly and happily given Belden Hill a 10 star review but after this weekend and feeling like this place had it out for my boys from the second we showed up, it's a one because I can't give a zero. One of the BEST(and the worse) parts of this whole experience was, as he (the owner) was talking to my husband, he said REPEATEDLY, "boys will be boys" Pick a side Brian!!! Either the elderly or the vacationeers! I bet you didn't tell the people that complained about us "boys will be boys" I can only hope they see this review and realize you are playing both sides!! But then again, since you favor the elderly and the retired, they probably don't have much to do with google reviews! The whole experience is sickening!

Facility is in a nice, secluded, and in a quiet piece of land that makes you feel like you are away from the city's hustle and bustle. I recommend you bring an SUV. You'll do fine with a regular car, but some of the steep gravel roads on the property can be a challenge. 2. This is friendly place where you get to meet lots of people. Whether you're looking for friends or fun, you will find it. I had a person knock on my cabin door to "meet"...and we "met" alright. I met a total of 4 times and declined a 5th, 6th and 7th opportunity. That was enough for 2 days, seriously. 3. Good cell phone reception with T-Mobile. Despite being up in wooded hills of PA, I never lost signal. 4. Café on site where you can buy breakfast, lunch and dinner at a fairly reasonable prices. 5. Night club (Club "O") on site that brings life to the place at night. 6. The themed weekends are very nice and real effort goes into making them fun. I was there for the "I Love Latin" weekend and boy was it fun. 7. A real pool, 7ft deep. 8. My cabin was clean and so were the bed and sheets. WEAKNESSES 1. Old, dark and dirty restrooms and showers. They badly need renovations. I know we're camping but still. This will turn people away, seriously. 2. Lots of old, dirty campers covered in tarp and seemingly abandoned. There should be higher cleanliness standards on the campground. This is an older campground but it still has huge potential: The property is beautiful and secluded, the staff is friendly and the themed weekends are fun. In the end that's my reason for the 4 stars. I will DEFINITELY be back.

I would say the service and activities we got is worth something around $150 max. Don't be deceived by the photos and videos they post on the internet. They are very disorganized. Most of the programs that were supposed to take place during our stay never happened. The indoor gym and all the amenities they have are either broken, disfunction or out of service including billiards, ping pong table...etc. The artchery was a joke. They only had one arrow for the whole group to practice with! Most of the bikes are broken, or with no breaks and dirty, so if you are planing a family ride, just forget about it. There were no islamic lectures, reflection after Fajr prayer, Nasheed or group bonding whatsoever! every group tried on their own to mingle but there were no efforts done by the camp. They had Bouncy house for kids with NO supervision or camp counselor at all. Older kids literally jumped on younger ones. Two kids got hurt and had a bloody nose. The cabin was moldy and dirty to say the least. As for the food, I'm not going to comment because some found it inedible others said it can pass, I have to say that we left after 24 hours as we couldn't stay for another day. I would never recommend it for anyone. PS. The owner and his family were there, they never apologized for not sticking to the program or for the broken amenities. They are a nice family but when it comes to business, they really needed to be more honest with their communications. They sent us email with videos that included a fully functioning place, the truth was different.
