I'm not doing backflips of joy over my experience, but it really was quite lovely. Here's the review I wrote for Trip Advisor: We stayed over a Saturday night, on March 31st. We had originally wanted to stay in the lodge building, but it wasn't open yet for the season. It's just as well, we had a delightful time in the main house. We were the only guests, since it was a misty, chilly weekend (we were up to visit friends). The owners are helpful and friendly. We stayed in the Cranberry Room ... I feel like the web site photos do not do the room justice. The furniture is very nice, without the lace and frills of too many B&Bs. The queen bed was comfortable enough ... we didn't sleep well, but I don't blame the bed, I think we just sleep best in our own bed! The house itself retains a lot of its original 19th century details, like original hardware, so if you like "old houses", you'll like this one. Breakfast in the morning was right on time, and delicious. Special mention goes to the views - this area is gorgeous, even on a rainy March/April weekend. I would definitely come back. The only negative I can think of is that the road leading to the house is not paved, which may present a problem, especially at the bottom of the hill. (It's also badly marked, but so are many roads in the region). The drive for the house is not paved, either, but I felt like that went with the country atmosphere, so I'm not sure it's a detriment. For the price, and the area, a great value, and a wonderful stay.

The bride and groom had to pull out of having the reception at the Silo. Management turned from kind and helpful to rude and disrespectful. He defiantly showed his true colors. We were not allowed to use the inn during the ceremony which made it hard to keep tradition for the bride and groom not to see each other before walking the isle and the bride and groom were charged twice. It was childish behavior of management and unprofessional. I was vary disappointed, but the ceremony was beautiful. The chairs and arch where set up when we got to the site, but we never saw anyone one from management to answer questions for congratulate the bride and groom. I would be carful working with the Silo for any event, but if you are a tough cookie I think you will like the Silo ceremony site.

We give 2-stars for "could have been better". However, the positive is: The actual grounds are gorgeous and historical and unique. But, based on the tangible product, increasing your prices for this tourney is unethical if you cannot provide a clean $640 room with working ac during crazy hot weather. For the broken AC, your staff said: "I guarantee it was working" when "said staff" was not in my room at 1 am, 2 am, 3 am and 4 am when I was up trying to get the ac to work. For that, this is why I came here to let future bookings know ;) Lastly, espresso was great, but breakfast was Mid and tiramisu was rotten from the cafe.
