The campground is very nice, but the downfalls really show... I worked at landers River trips for over 7 years in my youth which is pretty close to soaring eagle and being able to compare and contrast really shows here.... The biggest thing QUIET HOURS... the rude workers in the office expect you to just run to your tent put the fire out and go night night at 11pm SHARP. Yes I understand shut the music down at 11pm but when kids and parents are screaming at 6:00am in the morning it's perfectly ok?! Crazy "double standards". ALSO from my years of River safety and experience the life jackets that they have, are ripped, missing buckles, old and are past their expiration... if you want to enjoy camping without a headache and cognitive people go to LANDERS RIVER TRIPS!!!!! God forbid a yn wants a good trip. read more

This is an extremely special place and if you have a chance to spend some time here, do it. The location is stunning. A large and lush piece of land on the Delaware River. There's a crystal clear creek running through the campground. The creek and the river are magical places for kids to play. They search for tadpoles and other critters and can swim in the protected lagoon, which gets deeper gradually. Finally, you can lay in the rushing river water for the ultimate spa experience. Can you tell we liked it here? The campground is run by a family who has had the land in their hands for generations. They are excited and kind about sharing it with visitors and have created an awesome culture of friendliness and respect among campers and the campground owners. There is a well equipped camp store with everything you might have forgotten and even local pottery. The bathrooms and grounds are very clean. They also run tube, canoe and kayak trips where they'll drop you off upriver and you'll finish at Soaring Eagle. We did a tube float down the river which was the highlight of the trip. There weren't many others on the river with us which was a special thing. They also rent canoes and kayaks. We'll try those next time. read more

We have gone to soaring eagle for the past 4 years, we have an amazing time with a large group. We enjoy the river and we always tube down the river or Canoe, it's lots of fun and beautiful views. The general store is great and staff is super polite and friendly! If I have any complaints it's the smelly sulfur water in the bathrooms and that the portable bathrooms are not cleaned out more frequently, we were their for three days and it still wasn't cleaned on day 3. We will still visit and enjoy our time here immensely. read more

I've camped here, as well as just rented canoes and this place is incredible. The staff (which I believe are all family) are so insanely nice. The grounds are immaculate and they even have bathrooms on site which are very clean. I'm not a huge fan of camping but this is the only place I'll ever go. Can't wait for next summer! read more

I love this place. Nice ppl, good sites on the river, tubing kayak etc. wifi by the front desk and all the regular camping necessities showers (bring quarters) gen store, wood etc. i stayed 1a site and its right on the creek and river view. Love it here read more

I went to this place with a bunch of friends for a few days. They have a lot of amenities. We stayed at the inn. there was an outdoor sink, a propane BBQ, chairs, a pool, a small canopy outside. Inside, the place was well kept and clean. They do have some minor work to do on the doors and in the bathroom which is fairly minor. The outside of the place was well kept. They have the convenience of renting kayaks, canoes and tubes. The staff was courteous and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

Our campsite was the largest available (Lot 5 I believe) and had no one in between us and the river which gave us an amazing view all weekend. When we arrived late at night my son was terrified (It was pitch black, we're not used to that in the urban parts of New Jersey) until we pulled up to the store which had 4-5 people immediately helping us and then when we pulled up to the bath house where a group of children were running around playing. The site we had supplied water and electricity which may be considered "Not real camping" but we only used the water to clean our dishes. We didn't use their kayak, canoe, or tubing due to lack of bathing suits and the colder water temperature (My son was on the verge of a cold, we didn't want to risk it) but saw plenty of people who did and had nothing but great things to say about their experience. We have our own kayaks so it wasn't much of an experience to be missed for us. Met some people who have been coming to this camp site for years, and that's got to say something about them! Friendly services all around, extremely clean camp grounds, and the bathrooms were just spotless. I've been to many camp grounds and NEVER seen a bathroom so clean! read more

We just got back from our weekend trip to the Upper Delaware River Valley. We loved our campsite, right on the river! Perfect for tubing and exploring the ecosystem. Lots of biodiversity in the river beds and around the campsite. It would be a perfect place to visit, the only issue is money. The place does nickel and dime you for every little thing. It's not "expensive", but probably a little pricier than other camping options. The location could be the driver. Also, the woman at the front desk was a little sassy. She was helpful when we had questions, but the sarcasm was not always appreciated. Overall, we would definitely go back. You cannot beat being right on the river! read more

We had an amazing experience with Soaring Eagle. We intend to visit again, hopefully for a longer stay! We went a few weeks ago for a single night. We were advised over the phone regarding which site was the nicest one available; the man who set us up with our site was accomodating, ensuring that we would get a site by the river and making sure it was okay that, if another party wanted to book the site for the whole weekend, we would be moved to a different riverfront site. This made perfect sense to us, and we were happy to agree. This didn't happen, fortunately. Our site was absolutely gorgeous, with a phenomenal view of the river. We off-roaded over a small creek in order to reach the site, which was fun (not all sites require off-roading; just be sure to book one on the other side of the creek). The staff are so friendly. We felt welcome when we arrived, and the folks at the desk were happy to answer all of our questions. I wish I'd caught the name of the woman who showed us around; she was great. The bathrooms were clean, and the camp store was easy to access and well-stocked. We had every amenity we could want. It rained in the morning, so we didn't take a boat ride, but we're definitely interested in trying that when we return! read more

Didn't even get past the initial phone call. Some grumpy old man answered the phone, sounding less than enthused about the possibility of making a couple bucks. He asked what time we would be arriving, I told him probably later around 10, if that's ok. He immediately scoffed at this seemingly ridiculous request, and in his best 'I call the shots around here' cowboy voice, gruffly told me "absolutely not, if you can't make it here by eight, you can't come in." I politely said, "thank you my man, I guess I'll take my business elsewhere," and I'm not even sure what the response was as he promptly hung up the phone. I go to this area every year, but will avoid this campground. Too bad. read more

Soaring Eagle Camp Ground is an amazing campsite with a beautiful river and landscape. We had a large group of individuals, approximately 34 individuals including kids to adults. We made reservation about Jan 2016 for camping visit in August 2016 and only to show-up to find other folks occupying our site. Since our group, all families, we were giving a large group site to accommodate everyone via our reservation in Jan 2016. That did not happen when we got there. Took the apologies from the OWNER daughter and we moved on. Off course, the apologies were nothing more than, "we made a mistake and over book your spot." We are West Indian from the Caribbean and love the outdoor nature with soca and chutney music. On our arrival, we were informed that all loud noise, including the music must be toned down by 11PM. Agreed to all the campground policies, after all, policies are policies. About 5Pm in the afternoon we got a visit from the OWNER's daughter, at least that is what she keeps telling us every time she came to say another derogatory comment. We need to drop the volume on our little Bluetooth sound box. The audio output is 5W and at 5PM in the afternoon we were told to drop the volume down, down, down to the point we can hear each other breathing. Now I am not going to say that we were not a bit noisy, since over 60% of the folks there were kids ranging from 2-18 years old. About 10:45 she came to visit and told us to take our camping lights off and should all huddle up in front of the fire pit. We object and told her that we have little kids and she needs to back the FxxK away. Off course, she keeps telling us that she's the owner's daughter. Don't like to play the race card, but definitely she was racist. I would never go back there even though, the camp site was a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the moment with my wife, kids and family. read more

BEWARE!!! I would give it zero stars if I could. We called 3 months in advance to reserve 2 electric sites on the river Monday-Friday and were given the requested sites. I did call a day before to verify arrival time and was told that the sites were available early in the am, only to arrive around 11 am and find out that the owner had moved us "last night" as per his words, because some of his "best campers" had decided to stay longer on our sites. He decided to consolidate us to 1 site, stating the electric for both RV's would not be a problem for an adjacent electric box and that he had the correct extension cords that he would bring "right down." Three hours later and a lot of jockeying around the site to fit both RV's, I was given regular extension cords and told to "try and make it work" by the owner. When I told him that we would be unable to use the AC during this 90 degree week, he said that "would be too bad." With increased frustration and a lot of sarcasm, he did give us our money back and we promptly found another nearby campsite that was very happy to have our business for the week. read more
