The rest of the staff was warm and helpful too, including the carver, who was friendly and welcoming. One thing that stood out to me as a guest, we saw a table leave a pretty big mess, and it was a reminder to all of us to make things a little easier on the staff by stacking plates and consolidating where we can. There are no restaurants or other things around (with the exception of a small general store and bar) so eat before you come and bring something to entertain you. It worked as a last minute change of plans meant our hotel in Duluth couldn't hold our room for us and the entire city was fully booked over the weekend. We spent a day in Duluth and just needed a place to sleep before heading back to the twin cities. We booked a room through Airbnb. Julie is a sweet lady and a gracious host! She made us a delicious omelet and coffee cake for breakfast in the morning and we had a nice time getting to know her and how she started the B&B. The living space was cozy, homey, and our room was clean with a rustic/ vintage farmhouse feel. There's a nice sitting area on the front porch. This was a lovely spot to be surrounded by quiet and just relax after a busy day of driving and activities.
