They have lots of great activities including a rubber duck race where the donate 1/2 of the money raised to the local food shelf. Everything was going great until yesterday(Sunday) when I decided to walk around the campground to check out more of the area. I was on the road at the far end of the campground when a campers 4 dogs spotted me and started running and barking aggressively. I stopped to try and give the owners a chance to call them off as well as hopefully deescalate the situation. That is when the German Shepherd came around the back of me and bit my bum. I said ouch. The owner finally got the dogs attention and put him in their camper. I left and went back to my camp site. I saw the skin was broken and soon I had a large bruise. I called the office and asked if the campground owners could please stop by my site as I wanted them aware of what happened. 2 hours later still no contact from them. I then went up to the bar and restaurant and located Merle and Laura. I told the what transpired and only had one request which was to please find out if the dog is up to date on vaccines. They said they would. That was 6 pm last night. I left the campground at 10 am this morning and still have not been contacted. Dogs off leash when so many children are around is an issue. If the campers next to me had encountered this dog with their 1 and 3 year olds I do not think it would have been I so minor. Again loved the campground and activities but disappointed that this issue was not followed up on. Worst part is the dogs belong to a long time seasonal camper at the facility so I'm afraid it won't be addressed.

They have a private pool, updated convenience store with essentials as well as a variety of foods like pizza, cheese curds, chicken strips and of course the favorite ice cream cone. The location and overall grounds are nice and well kept, but way too much 'bling' (statues,…read moreknick-knacks, etc). Way overdone to the point that it's cluttered. There's an overall mindset amongst seasonals to 'keep up with the Jones' with respect to yard appearance, RV's, trailers, etc. I was a seasonal for three years, and ultimately the last straw was when it was suggested to me that I don't return the next season unless I upgraded my 28 foot travel trailer to something newer, because it didn't fit the look and feel of the place (apparently something older than 7 years wasn't good enough?). Also, management is very good at one thing: watching everyone like a hawk. If you want to always feel like you're every move is being scrutinized, this is the place for you!

We prefer to camp with electricity and, while our camper fits in most spots, the spots run small. There are trails to hike along the water, a beach, and it's peaceful overall. Others just seemed to want to party and take over our space! Way too many people come within feet of your camper, so no privacy at all! The owners seem to try and keep things pretty clean, but since it is so busy, it just doesnt work very well. There are no paved roads so everything is dusty or muddy!

One barking dog (a permanent camper) , slimy swimming area, had to share fire pit with strangers (site next to ours), the outdoor game room is run down and useless because the fooseball table is broken, ping pong table has no net but yet still talked about on the website as if you could play with them. Both game tables where on top of the shuffle board area so you couldn't play on it. No log roller in the lake either like it shows on website. Upsides.. love the People!! from the owners and the staff to the other campers. Great camp store, my kiddos fished off the dock for hours all week! Kids enjoyed feeding the animals, the bikes to rent, great playgrounds, the one by the office was my kids favorite. They where never board. Not to busy during the week but weekends are very busy. The rentals are affordable but be sure to find out ahead of time to know when you can rent. All in all it's a nice campground close to home. Hopefully they can update their website to show current activities that they really do offer. Tips; bring beach toys and water toys to keep kiddos busy longer at the lake. Bring fishing gear for kiddos too or even corn to watch the fishes come to eat it.
