The kitchenette has a full size fridge, coffee pot (drip with mesh filter), dishware & utensils, microwave, and 2 burner cooktop. Bathroom has walk-in shower, towels, and hair dryer.TV has Roku and there's a picnic table & grill outside the front door. There's no place to hang clothes and the dusty old antique dresser has tiny drawers, so plan to live out of your suitcase. It's a quick 5 minute drive to Hill City which has several good restaurants and a grocery store. The hosts live and work onsite, always around, and are very good with communicating. Pretty impressive. Nice little general store as well, a pool and a very nice area for the kids to play at. They sell propane, almost anything you need. Needless to say this place won me over. Lisa and Harvey have done a phenomenal job with this campground and are fantastic hosts. The General Store has most everything you need in case you forget some essential camping needs. All the sites are on nice, flat ground though there isn't much shade. Our site was next to porta potties (plus) and we also had a shelter over our picnic table (plus). We didn't look inside the cabins but they look cozy and have a porch swing out front. The swimming pool is small but really nice and is naturally chlorinated due to the 750 lbs of salt that's been added. Good for the skin :) It can be cool at night here so bring warm clothes. We arrived in July and on the way through the hills we saw snow on the ground!! It's quiet, relaxing and really beautiful here.

The Roost Resort has a genuinely nice physical setup -- well-maintained grounds and facilities. Unfortunately, our visit was marred by how the visitor fee was enforced. We drove 300+ miles each way to visit family staying at the resort. Saturday we paid the $10/car visitor fee without issue, though it came with a long lecture about costs, being a mom-and-pop operation, and "registered guests only" on the walk to the office. We left around 8:30pm, invited back for breakfast, and stayed overnight 40 miles away at another resort. We returned Sunday ~8:30am. By 9:30am the owner (Sheila) came back for a second fee. I asked if it worked like a motel checkout window since we'd be leaving soon. She charged the full fee anyway and repeated the same lecture -- for at least the 4th time. She mentioned being a 5-star resort; when I mentioned I'd leave a review, she took it as a threat. We were accused of using the shower house (false -- we'd showered elsewhere). When my cousin's husband mentioned being a disabled veteran, she accused him of "playing that card," described her own health condition, and threatened to call police. My cousin was told to vacate 2 days early, with 3 hours' notice. There's a difference between hospitality and running a hospitality business. A resort this nice deserves an owner who understands that difference.

All other parks are 1:00 The price is 47.00 a night, without full hookups. You can pay an extra 3.00 for full hook ups near by with better sites. They charged us a $30.00 late fee for checking out at 11:50. There was NO ONE THERE , That had to wait on us. It is a RV site. No one has to clean up.....What the heck! The dump station, takes some maneuvering to turn around in a small place. The view is great, but the lack of personal interaction is terrible. I would look for other parks, in the area. 1 out of 13 states is not bad for an average. You always have that one!!!!!

Overall a good experience and may try UC at another location.
