It's close to everything we wanted to see. We camped at Custer mountain cabins and campground. It was a gorgeous campground and had some great amenities as well. The employees were absolutely awesomely well. They had a bathhouse with flushing toilets and nice size showers. A campers kitchen with a sink for dishes, microwave, water kettle and a charging station for electronics. There was also a full laundromat. Restrooms and roomy showers were clean. We had a 25' TT and site accommodated our tow vehicle. We had 2 sites a back in (3 nights) and pull thru (2 nights). Beautiful hiking trail behind campground. We had a fire ring and location is somewhat hilly so difficult for handicap to get around. All in all a great location and easy to find. Nice general store on site. Definitely have to get some homemade pie from the Purple Pie House, blueberry, apple and bumbleberry were delicious warmed ip with a scoop of Vanilla ice cream! The Claw Antler & Hide store had very unique and cool items bought antler whistles for the grandkids. Had the best buffalo burger at Black Hills Burger and Bun but go early its very popular! Steve is SO nice, our stay is very cheap! the campground is very well maintained and clean, bathrooms and showers are very very clean, very beautiful view. Lots of room options ; tent camp, tv, tipi, wagon, cabin, camping keg! The highway wasn't an issue at all, still very quiet from the site. All and all 10/10 for this place. They have laundry, pavilion, playground, 2 dog parks and lots of games. They can fill your propane for you. The sites are so nice and are so clean. The store even has adult beverages. It's close to so many beautiful sites that are a must see. Rushmore, CrazyHorse, Custer State Park, Bear Country USA, Mt Roosevelt, and too many to list.

Sunset RV Park is a small yet spacious park in the Black Hills that's geared for adults and seniors. Back-in sites with full hook-ups offering 30 and 50 amp receptacles, septic, and water. Located an easy 2 miles from downtown Custer. Picnic tables, yard games, community fire pit, and pet friendly. You must be self contained. We stayed in #6 campsite, which has trees, flowers and hanging bird feeders. We woke to birds chirping. We loved Bill and Tami...wonderful hosts. Quiet, peaceful...we felt safe and close to Custer State Park! Can't wait to go back!

Fire rings, volleyball net, propane and excellent water pressure are all big pluses. Two stars are because they say they have WiFi and they do, however it's only available for about 1/2 the property. I complained about it and was told to unplug and enjoy nature and my neighbors. If we had not prepaid our stay we would have been gone. Lots of other parks to choose from in the immediate area. If I didn't feel like I had been conned I would given them 5 stars.

Even and some come with power hook ups. We moved to a cabin after 2 days straight of rain. Clean comfortable beds. Large porch and we could dry out tents there!! Large table and 2 fire pits. Store has everything you forgot as well as things you just have to buy! Small restaurant open and they have espresso. Pool is clean and easy to sit around or splash around in. Large jump play area that keeps the kids occupied! Laundry and 2 bath houses. A definite spot to return to.

As we were in a self-contained unit, we did not accress restrooms or the shower house. The pool snd dump station are understandably closed right now. Kabins were in use. It was easy to find & access this location. It's convenient for many hiking areas, Crazy Horse, Mt Rushmore, Custer city & Custer State Park. We were greeted each morning by a bunny. The only down was loss of water on the day of departure. As we still had a rather full tank, it wasn't all that major for us, but it eould have been if empty & may have been for others.
