Stopped in while in the area to visually check out the sites and amenities, I actually booked a…read moresite here a few years ago only to have it cancelled during the pandemic (I questioned this at the time since in my opinion there's no safer activity than camping). after doing a drive through today I was able to evaluate the campground and since I had no interaction with the staff I can't speak of that. This is an extremely large KOA and is classified as a "Holiday" destination, today just guessing it was less than five percent occupied which was a little surprising but then again it is off-season and with the area still recovering from the last hurricane I guess all the campgrounds are somewhat struggling. There are a variety of sites, some with concrete pads and some with grass pad and they all looked to have full hookups. There are multiple restrooms and shower facilities as well as a pool, tennis courts and other places to socialize. If I were to book a site here in the future I would definitely book a premium site with the large concrete pads which would better accommodate our Class A Motorhome. There are a number of RV Parks in the area but this probably would be a good option depending on what you plan to do while visiting the area...

Here are some of the things that were not OK - the mens room smelled of sewer, continually. It wasn't in the women's room and they are in the same building. We were kind of surprised that the camp store was empty - as in we couldn't find ice, water, or even anything. The pool was ok - but again - no one was monitoring kids jumping in, diving, etc. It scares us when this occurs and frankly, positive should have been on the parents. We had a spot on a corner when we first got there, and moved the very next day - people were loud and had unruly dogs. We were invited to find a spot we liked and we did - of note is that a view of the pond is according to them, worth half again as much as the normal site - really? Also - pretty clear that we used our own Wi-Fi here, what we heard from all others is that campground Wi-Fi sucks . One good thing - the weight room in the community center was great.

Although there are nice people you will run into a few "Karen's" who believe you don't belong there because you're under the age of 55. I've only had 1 bad encounter with someone who was annoyed by our toddler bouncing a ball. However, after this encounter I've never had to deal with her again and only have positive reviews about this place. Buddy and Cindy are wonderful people. Overall it's a nice experience at this resort with spacious lots and a relaxing atmosphere.

Well, she sure was right. Pull in slots and you pull right up to the water. They have boat slips and many sites you can have your bot right in front or on side of your RV. They do not allow tents. The woman who helped me during several phone calls asking for info could not have been more helpful or friendly ! I finally met her to reserve my same site for next years Labor Day because they book up quick (they only have 5 'ultimate' sites, I can't speak on availability on other sites. A quick 5 minute walk and you are over at the Nauti Parrot dock bar which has good food, good drinks, and live music. The only downside is the pool is *very* small. And was full both times we went to go and opted not to. Glass is not allowed but with all the people with Dixie cups / coolers and kids I didn't feel being that crowded in a small-ish pool.

The resort is just beautiful, it's surrounded by water on three sides and the view out our RV window was breathtaking. The pool, grounds and restrooms were always meticulously kept clean. I can't start saying enough good things about the staff, Stephanie (the resort manager), Denise (the office supervisor) and Gary and Kevin (the hardest working men I've ever met) pour their hearts and souls out to make sure your visit is a pleasant experience. We travel a lot and have stayed in many places but this one beats them all. I have to take two injections twice a month for an illness I have. It's shipped on ice and has to be kept cold. I notified Stephanie that it would be arriving the following day. The next morning I had a knock on my RV door, when I opened it Gary handed me my medicine. To me that goes beyond great customer service, it shows they truly care about their guest. Don't let me forget to mention the little tractor. If you don't want to back your travel trailer Gary or Kevin will put it in your spot with the tractor and not leave until you are 100% satisfied that it's exactly where you want it and it's level. In my opinion this is the best RV Resort in the Fort Myers and Sanibel area.

Was told park anywhere and no one even asked our name. This is an oversized parking lot with 10 sites. Not all sites have full hookup as advertised. First site we pulled into had no sewer. If you don't have a 50amp RV, you must bring a converter as that's all they have, even though it's advertised as 30/50. Luckily we had one otherwise we would have had a problem. If it rains- be careful! Big storm last night and hookup area flooded where electric and sewer hookup was. Luckily we were hooked up prior to storm. Our neighbor who arrived shortly after storm was not so lucky and had to wait for area to dry up before they could hook up. It never did so they had to boondock at different site. My spouse was sick and we called the day before at 8am to see if we could reschedule. We spoke to someone who informed us to text the owners and they will get back to us when they can. I then texted. When I didn't hear back I called again at 3:30 and was told again the owners are busy and will get back to me eventually. I texted again at 5 and never heard back so we just went. It was frustrating I couldn't get an answer. The place is very chill. Family owned and ran. Met an owner who arrived hours after we hooked up. Very kind. Nice dock out back to watch sunrise and dolphins play. Chairs, fire pit and kayaks available for use. Island shack on property with laundry, shower, bathroom and couches. Walk to cute boutiques and art galleries and seafood restaurants.

The pool area is updated and they have a new hot tub that's very nice. It probably fits about 6 people comfortably and was. never that busy when we were there. I appreciated the shade of the tiki hut and we had our pick of chairs in the sun too. We participated in water aerobics at the pool twice during our stay and had a blast! The fitness center is really nice - a bit crowded, but they have dumbbells, bikes, treadmills, and weight machines. We worked out there a bit and appreciated that it was never too crowded. The resort has many amenities, including the updated clubhouse, kitchen, pickleball courts, and a small library. The resort is mostly older couples and everyone is pretty friendly and welcoming. The resort is pristinely clean with everyone taking care of their dogs and no trash left anywhere. The clubhouse is the main gathering area for nightly activities like bingo, Left Right Center, poker, dances, dinners, and other fun events. We played Left Right Center and bingo this time - we didn't win but it was fun to hang out and join some activities. They also have parties sponsored by big RV companies, pet parades and events for holidays, and more. The community seems very tight knit. Pelican Lake is a 20 minute drive to Marco Island and 30 minutes to Naples, depending on traffic. 45 minutes from the airport, it's an easy place to get to during the winter when I need a break from snow!

We were told we had to leave even though we had a confirmation email from them for that site. We were still in the process of finding a new RV Resort (I was literally still on the phone calling around) when it hit 6:00 so they closed the office and left. They had no idea if we even found a place to go. They parked the new people right outside our site to get us to get out faster. They did not care that their error (system or not) displaced us. They did not even attempt to make it right.

All the sites (that I saw) have hookups for electric (all 3 types), sewer, and water, and a concrete pad. There's a little island with a boardwalk you can fish off of and you can also have fires on the island. The pool area is very clean with lots of grills plus a smoker and a deep fryer with lots of picnic tables under a covered pavilion. The pool is awesome and they even provide noodles and inflatable floats! The bathhouse also includes laundry area and a shared kitchen and social area. There are lots of social activities including cook outs, live music, exercise classes, game nights, and more. I would recommend this place to anyone of any age. It's pet friendly too, as long as you have nice pets. They even allow big dogs: I saw an American Bulldog getting a bath one day. There's a mix of snowbirds and year-rounders along with folks (like us) who are only staying a few nights to a couple weeks.

I offered to send some money for the cancellation and Anita at the front would not have it. They even rescheduled us for now. The shower facilities are clean and well maintained. Some of the best rv sites I've ever seen with a fair amount of privacy. The birds are super cool to look at and admire. The speed limit is a strict 7 1/2mph which means you don't have to worry about being knocked off or mowed over on your bike. The beach is about a 10 minute walk or a short bike ride, beautiful beach. Overall beach feel to this campground. We will be here for another 2 weeks and cannot thank periwinkle park enough for an amazing affordable Sanibel experience!
