I would love to get into the store and get my hands on a package of those, but alas, unless I shop between Monday and Friday, 11-4, I am out of luck. Imagine my horror as we pulled up at 2pm on a Saturday (after coming here on Saturdays before) after going to the store and buying everything my hubby needed to make me his amazing Lobster Ravioli, which is actually Midwest Pastas ravioli, but he makes a killer sauce for it, and its closed. So basically if you have a 9-5 job, you will never, ever be able to discover the wonderful things they offer here, which is a shame, and odd. Please for the love of God, open back up on Saturdays, thanks.

What is love? Well, that's easy. It's fresh pasta! If you adore Italian good...if you're a budding…read morechef or just want to up your pasta game on date night, this local business is your wingman. Midwest Pasta provides fresh pasta and flour to local restaurants. So they make their products in batches -- but anyone can walk in and purchase. There is always a supply of fresh pasta in the refrigerated section, as well as some frozen. I've had their mushroom ravioli, fettucini, gnocchi, pappardelle, and meat tortellini. Everything is DELICIOSO!! Their customer service is awesome. I stopped in to buy some fresh pasta, and was advised on what might pair best for my meal plan; and because I was traveling got an ice pack to help the pasta stay cooled. There is also a very small display of imported olives, olive oil, pesto, etc. However, the options are limited and display is limited to just a couple shelves. This is not a huge grocery, but it will accommodate small foodies out exploring the Cherokee Street Benton Park neighborhood. Double check store hours. They DO close early. So be sure to check hours and plan your visit accordingly. You'll miss out if you think you're stopping by after work or on the weekend.

It was my birthday and for 60+ years, my traditional b-day dinner has been rigatoni. My in-laws suggested Charlie Gitto's and it was fantastic. So, this year, we were again passing through St Louis on my birthday and I wanted to go back. I was hoping that it was as good as I remembered. I feared that I would be disappointed but I wasn't. It was as great as I remembered. I had their rigatoni with sausage, my wife had baked spaghetti with meatballs, my BIL had lasagna and my SIL had salmon. I also added a classic Ceasar salad. All of our entrees were excellent. The service is superb and definitely deserves a 5-star rating. Our waiter was excellent - he said he's been doing this for 18 years and was one of the best, most professional waiters I've ever met. Anthony, the manager, deserves special thanks for resolving an issue with where we were being seated. He was also the epitome of professionalism. Charlie Gitto's - despite me living in Ohio, you might become a new birthday tradition. Thanks.

Although claiming to have invented the toasted ravs, really did not enjoy them. Caprese salad was good for this time of year- early June. My go to meal to rate Italian restaurants is chicken Marsala, and was unfortunately the worst. Chicken was overcooked, rather tasteless and hard to cut. Very little sauce, but good mushrooms. Side of red pasta helped but was too sweet.

They have quite the operation with parking spots in their already large lot designated for carry out customers as well closer to the door. I opted to walk in from further away. Two ladies man the window ready to take orders or coordinate orders like mine that were called in. I walked in 20 minutes after placing my order but at peak hour they told me 15 more so I read a book until called to grab my fresh hot pie. I absconded with my prize to my hotel. I love St Louis style pizza. You can't find Provel anywhere near where I live in the PNW. This one has a really nice thin crust with plenty of mushrooms. I thought their sauce was a little on the sweet side. Not my favorite so far. I also came back with my coworker because he wanted a taste of St. Louis on his short stay, but he wasn't impressed either. I picked up some mushroom spaghetti on my next stop but that was also far too sweet and just okay. Sadly, for some reason pizza places seem to be closed on Sundays and Mondays which are the main days I'm in town this week for work, so I guess it's this place or Imo's this time, but I'll plan to go during Faraci's open hours next time.

Our server was so sweet with giving us suggestions and ensuring we enjoyed all of our food. She checked back frequently and was so fun. We got the truffle fries, bread with dipping oil, and carpaccio to start. All of it was PACKED with flavor. Of the apps, the carpaccio was my fave. It was thinly sliced and the capers gave little bursts of extra flavor in each bite. For our entree, we got the lemon ricotta ravioli and the emo cover band pizza. The ravioli was an INSTANT fave. Super butter, fresh and light. A great place for a date night!

Service is prompt and professional. Their menu consists of wood-fired pizzas, pastas, and Mediterranean appetizers. Their happy hour menu features their popular burger and fries and Margherita pizza. We ordered the cocktails Alice a vodka drink and Secret Door a bourbon drink. Food was good but not super memorable. The mixed olives and cannellini dip appetizers weren't the star of the show but enjoyed the beef carpaccio appetizer more. Our table ordered a Mushroom + Truffle pizza with duck egg on it which was unique. Our entrees were probably the best: Lemon Ricotta Ravioli and Ricotta Gnocchi. We'd go back for the vibe and maybe just drinks or during happy hour but will skip having an entire dinner here.
