If you have specific spices for teas like I do, check out the wall of bag spices AND the selection of plastic containers (in another aisle). I feel bad for writing this because such a large store and the amount of work the employees spend on keeping it organized was impressive. Asking them to reorganize maybe the most "gringo" thing I could do, but I had to ask a customer and her daughter? tried to find the specific spice...they had to ask a worker that took me to the plastic container aisle. BUT- the major thing is that El Morelia offered the spice. Plus others that I wanted try! My other mistake was not visiting during the week and eating at the in store restaurant. On Saturday my bill was almost restaurant prices from a few years ago. During the week prices are more reasonable. The toppings bar completely changes the taste combination and value. Definitely "as-good-as-it-gets"! The employees were restocking bread container with fresh loaves with a sign stating "3 loaves for $2"... I grabbed 3 and just ate one- phenomenal! Not sure if it is sourdough, but it is definitely fresh and delicious! Mexican sodas variety would make Sam's Club jealous. Far more grocery selection than I ever imagined. The store is an old warehouse, but it is clean and well-stocked.

About a line of 5 people came, ordered their food, and received their food before we ever got ours. We kept waiting and the waitress finally brought our food after about 30 minutes of waiting, but only my friend received his food. We waited longer for my food to come and it still took them about an extra ten minutes, which wasn't given to us until we went to the counter and let them know I still haven't received my food and it was then they gave me my corn dog. After I finally received my food I noticed how big it was and was at least excited to try it, but as soon as I bit into it, the majority of the inside was air and a little bit of mozzarella cheese. I was really disappointed by this experience and had high hopes I was going to enjoy it. I'm giving this experience 1 star, this place has great foods and desserts that they offer and could be better, but the staff really has to step up their performance.

I do not believe that is still the case, however, I may be mistaken. By the way, as an aside, I recall an Asian lady at Maria and Son recanting to me a story about her crab rangoon. She mentioned how August Busch the IV really liked her crab rangoon. So much so, that he ordered a large quantity for some event at a country club. Location: The store front is situated on a corner along busy Chippewa. If you intend to make your way there, just be aware that you will have to do some fancy parallel parking. One thought is to call ahead and see if the folks in the store might be willing to run the items out to your car. Just a thought. I also believe the company kitchen is located at this location. I tried their pork floss bun and sesame ball. I wasn't a fan of the sesame ball or the pork bun, which was disappointing. With the sesame ball it's mainly because I'm starting to come to the realization that I don't like the taste of sesame seeds, which I didn't realize at the time. And the pork bun didn't have a good ratio of filling and bread, I think it could have used a little more filling. Overall my experience was alright, I haven't tried other items there, so there may be other things there that are worth trying that I don't know about.

Menu was a good size and everyone sounded delicious. For appetizer we order the lumpia. They came out nice and hot and were yummy. For dinner I got the chicken adobo and my husband ordered the Bicol express. Both dishes were yummy and tasted fresh. We ordered flan to go for dessert. The restaurant's decor is fun.
