He asked me what I had done to snap the shaft in 2 .. I said it was in my back swing .. he immediately knew my game .. too tight of grip and too much power coming from the wrong place .. he had me hit some balls in the simulator and adjusted 2 things and explained 2 things and in 3 swings I was straight down the middle .. I was blown away when I went to the range.. 30 balls and only 2 went right !! I have played a fade on good days and a banana ball most days for 25 years !! For the first time I was hitting a draw off the tee ! This place might not look like Gold but it is!!

East Bay is an average course in mid-Pinellas county with an ok layout and a few challenging holes…read more Course conditions vary from season to season and hole to hole. The driving range is irons only and the putting green is a mess with bare spots and bumps everywhere. The guy in the pro shop isn't friendly but isn't rude either. The course could be decent but the conditions (as seen in a couple of my pictures) are very rough. Some greens are good (though slow) while others are atrocious. All told, if you want a friendly staff and decent course conditions, you would be better served to go to another local public course.

A lot of the tee boxes are full of that golf course Florida sand and the 3rd green is just horrible. However, the majority of the track is immaculate! Love this course so much! They have a great GPS tracking system in the carts that tell you the distance the green-side bunkers and the entire green. We'll worth the $46 to play here. I added this course to my go-to list to play - such a great deal! You should play here if you need a course to play in the Largo area!

I started golfing more consistently last year and recently I've been going at least once a week…read moreearlier this year. I try going to different courses if I can, and at this point I have played at numerous in the Tampa Bay Area as well as two other states. But I have NEVER encountered a ranger as disrespectful as the one at mainlands yesterday. I hit a drive out of play and I dropped a ball on the fair way next to my girlfriend's ball. The ranger pulled up behind us and said "you're not supposed to drive the ball out of play". I said "I didn't mean to, I'm not that good at golf". He said "well obviously... but why are you trying to coach people on the last hole?" ....Ummm because its my girlfriends 3rd time playing a round of golf and I was trying to give her a tip that helped me so she would have more fun playing???? I just drove away and didn't respond to him after that. I still don't understand the point of him even talking to us. But needless to say, I didn't pay $70 to be ridiculed by the ranger. The staff in the clubhouse were friendly and the conditions were fine for the price of $35 per person. But that interaction alone was enough to make me not want to come back. It wasn't crowded, if a group pulled up behind us we let them play through. We were trying to be considerate of other groups around us. It's not like this is a country club... this course had a ton of beginners on it. So why this older guy with a white beard felt the need to be disrespectful, I don't know. But it definitely tainted the experience and put us in a bad mood after that. Considering the number of courses in the area and variety of price points available, it's safe to say I'll be playing elsewhere for the foreseeable future.

True, it's not a…read morechallenging course, and it's surrounded by senior living in mobile homes (which made me almost rate it 4 stars), but the upside of the course was too great to give it anything but 5 stars. Each time I've played here the greens are in terrific shape. The course is well maintained and the workers are extremely friendly. If you're new to the game of golf, or you're looking for a fun, laid back round, definitely check out Mainlands!
