A great little spot in Pinecrest. I went the other weekend for the first time after receving great rewiews about this establisment. I was grealtly impressed. Wayside offers shakes, smoothies, juices, fresh fruit, pastries as well as dishes such as spaghetti and lasagna. read more

This place has been around for a long time and is something of an institution for the local area. The vibe is very positive. Really good milkshakes and pies made fresh. Also good selection of fresh fruits and veggies. A lot of the items they carry are a bit overpriced however, and can be found at any grocery store. One other plus is close proximity to the red road / old cutler bike lanes. Great place to stop after a long bike ride. read more

This is my favorite smoothie place! Its not a 5 star joint because there's barely enough parking for a handful of cars and it smells due to the location of the trash bins. Flies everywhere. It pains me to give the beloved "fruit stand" a 2-star review. And it's not because the prices are high. Or because I don't think their shakes are the best around (although they are good). In fact, I love the market in many ways, particularly its setting. My bad review is because--as my other reviews make clear--if there is one thing I just can't stand, it is rude service. The guy I think is the owner is totally fine. A younger guy often manning the register is actually friendly. But there is a middle aged Hispanic lady (and before you think prejudice, know that I'm Hispanic; just a way to identify her) who has to be the rudest damn service person I have ever encountered. This opinion is based on observation of over a year. I cringe when I pull up and see she is behind the counter. After today, I've decided I will drive away next time. Before long, I'll stop going altogether. I often take out-of-town visitors for a shake. But I'm now afraid to because it will confirm the worst of Miami's stereotypes. It's a real shame. How this lady can manage to be so rude, when most transactions involve simply asking for a shake and paying for it, is hard to believe. Today her demeanor was so rude (once she had stopped talking loudly with the girls actually making the shakes) that customers were snickering. Other reviewers have made the same point, so the owner either doesn't read yelp or he just doesn't care. I'd say it's the latter because you cannot possibly work alongside this woman for more than a couple of minutes and not realize how unfit she is for any job involving customer contact. I guess it's his business to lose. I only hope that, when he does, someone with a sense of customer service will assume it, hire new people. and keep the beloved "fruit stand" going. read more

This place deserves 5 stars. They've been around for as long as I could remember, and whether you are stopping there after a nice bike ride, or in the area for whatever the reason, it's definitely worthwhile. They have great shakes, prepared foods. My husband loves to get the curry chicken salad. I love getting the fresh fruit, a delicious panini, and a strawberry shake. Love them! read more

This local market has recently added a line of premium baked goods from Ellee's,a new local bakery. Their swirled pull-aparts in flavors like guava, pina colada, dulce de leche and chocolate chip are surreal good. On fridays they have the most amazing challahs (braided egg breads) you have ever tasted. read more

Wanted say something about that place. Yes it pretty,nice cozy place eat and drink healthy. What didn't like how they ripped off selling fruits 3 times higher also when asked make shake. They add a lot of vanilla ice cream little bit of fruit. Me and my boyfriend went there yesterday on 10/01/16. He seen how girl make the shake. Wasn't too happy about it but didn't say anything though. When we both taste it. Can't hardly taste the fruit mostly vanilla ice cream. Too disappointed had threw out shake on my way walking back. He also asked guy about the fruits. He said 6 dollars a pound for dragon fruit. But saw in publix they sell it for one 3 something. Guy seem arrogance more like a-hole. It not my community. Beautiful community there. They don't know they being ripped off in that place. Sadly. When we went first time shake was ok guess young guy made it put little more fruit juices whatever. But second time nope. We will walk by there again. Won't buy shake there again. Maybe just water bottle if we have to. read more

Quite pricey with rude and untrained staff. The shakes are just "ok" at best. There are very few salad varieties available and they are rarely if ever, offer new and fresh ideas. They seem to have an obsession with chicken salad though. They have about 6 kinds, on any given day. Sadly, unless you're there on the right day, many of them have been made 5-6 days ago and are not even close to fresh. Many of the packaged items- chips, pretzels and even canned sodas are covered in dust. Not to mention the filth and smell emanating from behind the counter. It looks quite filthy back there. To top it all off, the girls behind the counter are about as rude as you can find. They will act indignant and annoyed if you ask a question. They will also walk right past you, at the register and not even make eye contact while chit chatting with other employees. Not an isolated event either. Happens almost every time. However, the owner is friendly and helpful, but he is rarely there and available. read more
