My first visit here was accidentally. The next two trips absolutely intentionally. What caught our attention the first time were the gorgeous sunflowers on display in the parking area, $5 a bunch! We went inside and found so many interesting varieties of vegetables-many of which I had never seen before. I grabbed some green spotted zucchini, a few passion fruit and the largest dragon fruit in Florida that I have ever seen. I didn't spend more than $10. Yesterday I decided I'd make a full produce run. I grabbed a yellow bell pepper-sweet OMG, two passionfruit, one guava-I've never tried a fresh one in Fl, a bag of nice thick carrots, a cucumber, 4 large red potatoes, two HUGE yams-sweet potatoes, one yellow onion and a bunch of swiss chard-another first. All this for less than $20! OH! Be very careful grabbing the prickly chayote squash-OUCH! Lol Definitely my good produce spot forever!

What a great little spot! We recently discovered it during our annual Homestead exploration and…read morewere immediately welcomed by our server, Ruth, who shared the history of the restaurant and even let us sample their homemade honey. We had breakfast--steak, eggs, hot Cuban toast with butter, and café con leche--and we were stuffed by the time we left. Absolutely delicious. There's also a small, kid-friendly playground further into the property that requires a fee to enter, but we didn't check it out this time--maybe next visit. Head over to By Brothers for breakfast. It's amazing!

I'm always hesitant about going to places that have live animals due to treatment reasons. I want…read morethe animals to be well taken care of and not in horrible conditions. I'd say about 65%-75% were in reasonable enclosures. I will say some of the animals, especially the one camel by itself with the cows was really picking on the cows and it made me feel so bad for them being chased around a small space. There was also a gator that had lacerations on its arm, and there were way too many in one small enclosure. They had an opportunity for you to take pictures with two baby gators, but they literally just had them sitting in a tank with tape on their mouth and it was maybe a 40 gallon tank which is what I keep my pet lizard in by himself. If I could, I'd give a 3.5 stars because it was still an interesting experience,, there was a lot of things to see and a lot of stuff to do. We did paintball we wrote on the train. We checked out all the animals the fish and I think my favorite part was the aviary. All the birds were able to roam freely and were following us around to see if we had food. as far as cost, it's a really accessible price and you have access to a lot of different things, but I do question the animal treatment.

Came across this place as I was trying to get on the highway to our florida keys adventure and…read morecaught my eye, so I had to share it with my friends in the yelp community. You all know how tents as establishments in the dirt road near Ureka or Homestead are hard to keep clean. This farmer's market is on the left side on a dirt road and I was impressed how everything is neat and clean. All their fruits and produce have a very rich look and smell. Definitely not what you get at your supermarket covered in Estou a caminho! And preservatives. The mangos have a gorgeous ripe smell and the cilantro is rich and fresh since they keep it on cool water pots and fridges. The owner, Nelson has two huge tanks with constant running water where he has gorgeous sized tilapias which he will catch the one you like and have it cleaned for your enjoyment at home. He also breeds his own fish and feeds them top quality pellets with fish products and organic fish food. No hormones here. The prices are phenomenal for the deep and the shallow pocket, you can spend two dollars on a small tilapia or eight dollars on a tilapia alone, it also depends how how much produce and fresh fruit you go ahead and buy, it's all up to the consumer. Regardless the prices are very inexpensive in my opinion and you are receiving great service and amazing quality. Besides tropical fruits, they can make shakes for you with anything you buy and they also have coconuts, sugar cane juice (guarapo) and many more like tamarind. I will be visiting more often, after all it's very close to us and with their advice, their hygienic standard and feasible prices it's a no brainier.
