The woman who answered the phone and claimed to be the manager, Krissy, was incredibly rude, repeatedly interrupted me, and was obnoxious. I cannot believe that she would be the face of any organization. Because of an accident on the road, we were running a bit late. While we didn't expect the group to wait for us by any means, we hoped that they could work with us in terms of booking a trip on a different date or being somewhat accommodating in terms of our family of 4 not losing the entire $180 cost that we already paid. Nope. Instead, the woman insisted it was in the email we were sent. The email actually said that they couldn't guarantee that they'd be able to rebook our trip whereas Krissy didn't even try to do so. She also entered us about taking responsibility and being accountable. As a business owner myself, I found that entitled, self-aggrandizing behavior abhorrent particularly when a family is losing out on near $200 and especially during diffict financial times. If this is how you they treat their customers, I do not need to be one of their customers. read more

Great website that thoroughly explains your options, easy to navigate and book your outdoor adventure. Friend & I booked the "shorty" canoe trip. Trip included site drop-off/pick-up, canoe rental,life vests, seat cushions and paddles. Every person we spoke with, from check-in through check-out was very friendly and informative. What impressed us the most was the amount of care and follow-up later in the day after our trip. There was a mix-up with checking-out and our names were inadvertently left on the list as not having come back. In a time where most people would call it a day at closing and not care less if we had returned, Rob was very concerned. Rob thought he remembered us leaving,but texted and phoned both myself and friend to confirm we were ok and had indeed returned. He wanted to be 100% sure that no one was left behind! In additional to having a great time, we were both so impressed with the next level of customer service. I highly recommend Pinelands Adventures for your next outdoor excursion. This place really deserves 5 stars. I dealt with Barnes who is very knowledgeable, super friendly and a real gentleman. We rented a kayak and brought our own canoe for an overnight on the Mullica river. The price was fair and the drop off and pick up were right on time. Less expensive than a massage, lasts longer and makes you feel better. My love and I took the Pinelands Advantures trip down the Batsto yesterday, and it was just breathtaking. The staff are very kind and knowledgeable about the area and its unique ecology and it was a great learning experience. We enjoyed it immensely. If you tend to be a worrier, get frustrated or stressed out with life, give a kayak trip a try. It's a skill anyone can master and it is such a wonderful and relaxing experience, 2 to 4 hours depending on which trip you choose. As you paddle down river at your own pace, all you hear are the crickets and your paddle kissing the water. There are a few nice beaches you can stop at and have a bite and relax or sunbathe. It's truly magical experience and it's a safe way to get into nature for a few hours of peace and solitude. We prefer non summer months when it's not as hot, but that's just us. Pinelands offers amazing kayak adventures. My 13yo son and I took a 2 hour kayaking trip, it was challenging, beautiful, and fun. The staff at Pinelands Adventures was very nice. They got us in our kayak quickly, they gave us a little primer on what to expect, and they gave us some history of the Pine Barrens. Our family had an awesome time kayaking. The staff was very knowledgeable about the Pine Barrens, the rivers and Batsto village. It was great that they gave up little history lesson on the way to the drop location. We did the 4 hour river trip. It was a lot of fun and the kids (3 teenagers) loved it. We had 2 tandem and 1single kayak. We would pull over to a sandy bank and switched up every now and then. Ate lunch on another sandy beach about halfway. Be sure to bring bug spray, sunscreen, water/lunch/snacks. We plan to go back again, maybe even do the overnight camping trip next time. read more

I greatly appreciate the email with all the details of my trip; it was nice to be reminded of the essential items to bring to the trip. The history facts and views were an added bonus. If you can use your senses to get you downstream to the lake while maneuvering around some obstacles that utilize your brain while taking all of the nature in, then this is an amazing adventure that you should embark on. Wow, yet another great escape with Pinelands Adventures! My husband were so impressed with our first Pinelands Aventure that included hiking and canoeing, that we decided to sign-up for the Cranberry Dry Harvest Tour. And we are so glad we did!. Our guide was knowledgeable, patient and courteous. He answered all questions and didn't hurry any of us. We toured one of the oldest, established cranberry bogs in south Jersey; went inside a processing building; were instructed on how some equipment is unused in harvesting the berries; and learned a lot about the history of the barrens and of harvesting. What a great way to spend a beautiful Autumn day (2 hours or so). I recommend this tour to most ages: interested elementary school children and up. read more

Pinelands Adventures is an absolutely wonderful way to enjoy some of the more beautiful parts of the New Jersey Pinelands. Not only do they have a great selection of different hikes, rivers, and tours, but they also have an incredibly friendly, helpful team that make every trip enjoyable. The Batsto River kayaking trip is fantastic: The river itself is as beautiful as it gets. It's an idyllic, windy river running through a wonderfully serene forest. You can absolutely savor the quiet as you navigate down the river. It's one of my favorite ways to relax and unwind after a long week of work. As before, the staff make everything very easy and enjoyable: They drop you off, pick you up, and handle all the gear for you. All you need to do is enjoy the trip. More importantly, they are extremely knowledgeable about the history of the Pinelands: Each time I go on a trip with them, I learn something new and interesting. As before, everyone is extremely helpful and friendly. I've taken several trips with Pinelands Adventures, and have enjoyed every one of them. I will certainly go back again. Pineland Adventures does a great job getting you to and from the river. I've never had to wait for them to get me at the end of the trip. They start their trips on time, too. Their staff is knowledgeable, personable and friendly. I've had a great time on my last two trips with them. BUT! If you think it's your God-given right to ride your gas-guzzling dirt bike through every delicate ecosystem on the planet, by all means boycott these guys, because they're doing a great job protecting and promoting the park through their partnership with the Pinelands Preservation Alliance. Our trip to a cranberry farm was very informative. Bob presented us with a thorough history of NJ cranberries. It was a small group so we were afforded the opportunity to ask questions. We even sampled cranberry bars made by his wife. A nice bag of cranberries was given to us as well as recipes. Bob was a very pleasant gentleman and made our adventure a pleasure. read more

Just completed their 4-hour Basto river tour today. We had awesome weather and a good day. Booking online and completing the waivers were soooooo easy and streamlined everything when we arrived this morning. The crew was great and informative. 0n our shirt and bumpy ride out, We got a brief history lesson in SJ "bog" iron and cedar water, as well as pine trees; thanks Mel. The river was a bit low and required more steering than paddling. Myself and my two teenage children had no trouble with navigating the twist and turns of the tiny river. I always recommend everyone use a solo kayak as it's more maneuverable than a canoe, and doesn't require any teamwork. We stopped about halfway for a snack and moved on. Although we did not push ourselves, we finished in just over 3 hours. We weren't the first of our group to finish, but did distance ourselves from others behind us. The crew was waiting for us when we finished and drove us right back to the office. All toll, exactly 4 hours. Next time, we move up to a more challenging tour. I have kayaked with Pinelands Adventures on both the Batsto and Mullica Rivers and have gone on the Between Two Rivers hike. This is some of the best paddling in the Pine Barrens. You really feel like you are deep in the wilderness. Water is extraordinarily clean since all of the water is basically ground water flowing out of a very shallow aquifer. The people at Pinelands Adventures are great. Very knowledgeable about Pine Barrens ecology and history. They offer both guided and unguided paddling. You can also bring your own kayak or canoe if you are just looking for transportation to the start and pick up at the end of your trip. read more

These guys are awesome! I took 18 Boy Scouts down the Batsto from Quaker Bridge to Batso Lake and camped at Goshen Pond. Not only were these guys excellent canoeing outfitters, their bus drivers are like tour guides on the history and ecology of the region. The guys in the office helped me plan the camping part of our excursion and the horseback riding activities the next day, both of which happened outside their facility with other sites and outfitters. They took special care to prepare me as the trip leader for everything we'd encounter along the way on the river and helped me show my scouts an awesome adventure!! They have a very special calling to do what they do and I wouldn't use anyone else. They are amazing!!! read more

Bathroom facilities a minus and although we were not expecting much in terms of the bus conditions were far more cramped than anticipated . For fans of geology and ecology. I had never been kayaking before but that didn't matter. Although the river was challenging it was beautiful and far from boring. Our Pineland Adventures drivers were extremely knowledgeable about the area, the plant life, and animal life. They made the drives to and from the river very interesting and informative. Fantastic guide and staff for the Discovery tour. While canoeing, we saw plants that you can only see in the Pinelands, including an orchid and carnivorous plants and beaver dams and lodges. During the hike we ate blueberries and huckelberries, and learned geology that explained a lot about the state of NJ. This area is precious, needs to be experienced and preserved. read more

Did the Batso River tour on 7/14/17. Despite the weather and LOTS of mosquitos (bring a mosquito hat!), I'd highly recommend Pinelands Adventures. They were ready for us with smiles and kayaks ready to go and explained everything about our tour. Jeff was a great and knowledgeable guide who got us into the river and picked us up promptly when we were done. Even offered great advice about where to get blueberry ice cream after our trip.
