I traveled 45 minutes for Ken Smith to engrave a special pocket knife for my grandson. When I went to pick up the knife the initials were way too small and I walked out leaving my husband to pay $48 for the initials. When I got home and looked at it under a light, one of the initials was all stuffed up. I called Mr. Smith and left a message and he never returned my call. So, $48 dollars later, I have a pocket knife I can't even present as a gift. Shame on you Mr. Smith! Enjoy my money because I am certainly not enjoying the quality of workmanship you gave to me.

I've been here twice. The place was filthy for each visit. The lady who sits there said with…read moreeach visit (about 2 yrs apart) that 'its our busy time'. The first time I went, I was told the order would take about a fortnight, and I would get a call. The call never came so I stopped by. The order had yet to be completed. It was done right then and there when it was revealed that my dog's ashes were in the urn that needed to be engraved. Fast forward, a couple years later and I have another urn that requires engraving. This time around, I wrote my initials in the dust on 1 of the shelves when I walked in. The lady stands up when I told her what I needed and handed me a tape measure. (I kid you not). She then instructs me to measure the urn and write the info down on a piece of paper. I select an ink pen which, coincidentally, doesn't work either. The next pen is more successful. I'm then asked which of the 4,000 fonts I want. Sadly, I said I didn't know what the 4,000 were. I should have asked how I was supposed to know that. Anyway, I see a sample I like early on so I didn't need to look at the remaining 3,995. I'm told it's a 'busy time of year' but I will get an 'email next week' with a preliminary engraving and, once I approve it, the job will get done. Ok, I'll admit I knew the lady was lying, but you know how you want to think positive. A week and 2 days later, I call. The same chick tells me she will call me back 'in a few minutes' after she checks on my order. Ok, I'll admit I knew the lady was lying, but you know how you want to think positive. 5 days later, I call back four times. No answer. No answering machine either. The next day, I call again. I explained about the lack of an email and a phone call. The lady kept interrupting and saying 'yes'. What's up with that? She said she would check on my order and call me back. I was supposed to be picking up locks for my wedding and upon walking in I noticed the date was incorrect. I indicated this to the owner and he pulled the paper out and showed me what was supposed to be 07.02.2022 and now looked like the 02 had been written over with an 8. When he showed me I simply stated "I guess that does look like an 8 but it does look written over" - my goodness, it was like a switch had been flipped and he just started yelling at me "how dare you accuse me of changing my customers requests" (mind you, the other lady in the shop said "Rich, just relax take it back a notch" which sounds to me he treats his customers like this frequently) I then indicated I did no such thing, simply just stating a fact and he then continued to yell and belittle me saying things like "you need to get your attitude in check little girl". I was so taken aback with this behavior I simply just left but here is where it gets worse, while I was walking out the door he yelled "you fucking bitch!" I'm absolutely appalled a business owner would treat their customers this way. I was willing to try to work on a solution but instead was met with anger and hostility.
