Gorgeous service- here we have a drip and espresso

The vibe is great. Is location is surprising. The barista knew is coffee!! He knew the blend and the roast!! All hail. This is a true coffee lover's spot for quality specialty coffee. My companion had a drip Kenyan and it was good- bright and on point. The espresso was medium roast (I prefer a dark) but good quality. This is a high value high quality shop and coffee drinkers have no choice- you must come here. Plus it is adorable. We sat outside and were very content.

House Latte

We met family here while visiting from out of town. My husband and I both chose the house latte but I had mine hot and he had his iced. I liked mine but my husband didn't like his. The coffee was great but there wasn't a lot of the house syrup flavor at all. The staff was very friendly and it's a beautiful location to just hang out. The outdoor patio is beautiful and had a really nice breeze despite the hot weather. I'd be willing to give this place another shot next time we're in town.

While driving up for a work trip a coworker suggested I come thru to Pinewood Coffee Bar for a coffee for the road when he found out I was planning to stop in Waco. I was super happy with his suggestion as this coffee shop is super quaint with their chill vibes and the music playing throughout the place. Upon walking in I was not surprised to see almost every seat was taken by studying students and remote workers. This is definitely a nice spot to post up and get some work done. The baristas were super welcoming and gave me enough time to figure out what I wanted to order. I opted for a cold brew and requested to add CBD to my drink. I found out they do have CBD sparkling waters and COULD mix it with my cold brew but I opted to just take a sparkling water with me instead and have it later. I was glad I did too as I was able to take off the edge and stressors of driving through to my destination. The atrium area outside is just super charming. It was a little cold to be sitting outside on the day I visited but there were people out there enjoying the fresh air and doing their thing. Next time I am in the area I will definitely come through again as this spot was just the bees knees.

Pinewood is a Waco staple - and I make it a point to visit every time I'm back in town. This was my go-to coffee shop when I was at Baylor - and it's comforting to know that I can walk in and grab a glass of cold brew that's just as delicious as it was when I was in school. Locally-roasted coffee beans make a difference, and you can truly taste that difference here. This is a great place to study or work remotely: the Wi-Fi is fast, and the caffeine is readily available. The atmosphere is warm and familiar - even if it's your first time stopping in. I've always had excellent service, and have often asked the baristas for their recommendations. If you're planning to sit outdoors, I would definitely recommend a set of headphones or earbuds, as it can get a little loud around lunchtime. I have yet to experience their Public House - but it's definitely something I hope to get around to soon.

Great customer service, good vibes and strong coffee. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Too many students flood this place though.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you stay longer than 2 hours, please purchase more than one beverage!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]great interior and ambiance. inside had a really earthy, granola vibe with bar space, booths, plants, and records all around.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]the outdoor patio was also such a sweet space.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] the menu is really simple and easy to understand. they have seasonal and rotating syrups that are fun flavor combinations. coffee was pretty good. it wasn't the most flavorful latte, but i did get oat milk so that may have masked the syrup.

Pinewood is a cool spot. They've got two house-made syrup options, and I was all about the seasonal maple rosemary--it was fantastic! The coffee is just the right balance--rich and flavorful, with no milkiness, which is a big win for me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The staff was genuinely sweet, and the whole atmosphere felt really retro and cozy - stranger things vibes in the best way.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely a spot I'll be returning to.

Really enjoyed working out of Pinewood Coffee Bar during my Waco trip. The cortado I ordered was great, and there was ample indoor/outdoor seating. The staff is friendly and doesn't mind if you post up for a while. There wasn't any food, but there was a food truck that I ordered from for lunch before heading home. The music selection here was great, they take their vinyl collection seriously. Would have liked it to be a little quieter, but I just popped over to the tables outside for meetings. All in all, this was the hippest stop I made in the area (by far). I'd consider it a must visit in Waco!

Why wasn't this here when I was at Baylor?! Such a great study/work spot with lots of good places to sit/plug in. And the coffee was fantastic! I had an oat milk cortado and my husband had an americano. Both were delicious and the barista that took our order was kind. Highly recommend stopping by if you're visiting but expect a decent crowd of students.

Great coffee and vibes!

A gem of a coffee shop. The baristas were very friendly and helpful when I asked for bean recs for espresso. I got a bag, and one of them kindly grinded some of it for me after I explained I was still waiting on my home grinder to arrive. I enjoyed some coffee while reading a book in one of the nooks, and the amount of natural light made it very cozy. There is plenty of space both inside and outside, and there is a good selection of beans for whatever you may need.

Excellent coffee house in neighborhood south of downtown. The coffee is carefully crafted and superb. Loved the retro LP based music! Lots of great indoor and outdoor seating; easy street and lot parking.

Magnolia Press is their house coffee shop serving up all the coffee house classic beverages and snacks. Beverages were all the basics with a few specialty drinks, both hot and cold. The food was standard breakfast sandwiches and pastries. Prices for everything were moderate, but expected. I went with an iced mocha and chocolate croissant, while my partner went with a breakfast croissant. The food came out a few minutes before the drink, so we munched on the goods while we waited for the coffee. The food was good and the drink was tasty. It hit the spot for sure! The flow can get a bit backed up depending on how busy the baristas are...and they were busy! We waited a longer time after ordering than we did in line to order, but neither wait was egregiously long. Once we got the coffee, we made our way outside to the courtyard. We passed the small, but cute dining room. The space is gorgeous, perfect coffee house and Magnolia vibes. Overall, great entry point to the market. Lovely vibes and decent coffee!

I have been wanting to come here for years so you can imagine my excitement when I called to make…read morereservations about a month in advance and they were able to fit our large party in! They have a designated parking lot making it super easy to visit here. They brought us to our table right away, which was this beautiful large family table set in its own alcove, so it felt very special and away from the main hustle and bustle of the restaurant. The vibe was like a modern upgraded diner. I had struggled deciding between going at brunch time or for the dinner menu, but I am super happy that we decided to do brunch because we got to enjoy the famous Jo's Buttermilk Biscuits with the flight of butters. All of the butter was great, but I especially loved the blackberry butter. The biscuits were so good though, that you didn't even need butter at all, they were just so light and fluffy. Not dry like your typical biscuit that you'd get at any other restaurant! For the main meal, I picked the crunchy French toast, which was perfectly crispy on the outside but nice and custardy on the inside. I love the use of the cornflake cereal on the outside, I don't think I can go back to any regular French toast after that! They have some seasonal drinks available, so make sure you ask your server. On our particular visit, we tried the 1905 latte which had a toasted marshmallow syrup inside and surprisingly was not too sweet despite being marshmallow. The restaurant is connected to the little merch area/market where you can buy a lot of of the Magnolia merch if you can't make it over to the Silos. The decor and feel inside is so beautiful, as expected if you're familiar with Joanna's work! What a treat to be able to visit here and may they last for a long time!

On top of that, the air conditioning vent was blowing directly onto our table the entire time. After being seated, we watched several employees standing around chatting while we waited nearly 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. No one greeted us, offered coffee or water, or even said hello. Eventually, our server arrived, and she was wonderful and very friendly. I ordered the Kind Breakfast, and my husband ordered the breakfast tacos. The presentation was beautiful, and the food looked delicious. Unfortunately, both of our meals were served cold. My eggs, bacon, and toast were all cold. Thankfully, my plate included a fresh salad and tomatoes, which tasted great because they were meant to be served cold. Overall, it felt like the focus was more on being a popular tourist destination than on providing attentive service and ensuring the food was served at the proper temperature. I had expected a much better experience.

Thrst specializes in carefully crafted lattes with the highest quality beans that's expertly roasted locally. It's also a small business, and if you follow my reviews, you know that I'm all about supporting small businesses as opposed to the large chains. The menu offers signature drinks such as their Cafe de Olla and Mexican Mocha. They also offer the more common drinks like latte, americano, cappuccino and teas. They also have delicious looking pastries! I wasn't sure what to order and the owner, Andreas, took the time to describe some of their signature drinks to me. I decided to get a medium Hot Café De Olla Latte, which is described as the perfect blend of espresso, piloncillo, cinnamon and oat milk. It was smooth, creamy and divine! I also ordered a cinnamon twist, and it was absolutely delicious! The interior is rather large, with a coffee bar and tables throughout. Seems like a great place to study or hang out with friends. Another great thing about this place is that they open early, like 6:30am on weekdays. Many of the other local coffee shops open later. The only drawback is the parking sitch. It seemed that many of the spots nearby were reserved for specific businesses. I didn't find any specifically for Thrst, so I had to park down the street and walk a little ways. Overall, this is a solid coffee shop and I highly recommend supporting this small business!
