I hate the Med Center because it is like a zoo over there--we were 30 min. late to our appointment. I felt terrible, but they did not make me feel bad about it at all. I wasn't even punished for my tardiness--only waited 10 min. for my appointment. Now, this is not to say that it's okay to be late, but I appreciated their courtesy very much. Dr. Dejesus did the bulk of the exam, and then she returned with Dr. Hutton after going over my records and MRI films. Dr. Hutton and his staff are all very friendly and helpful. This is all based on my initial visit. I have yet to be treated by him, so I guess there'll be an update after I've been his patient longer. But first impression is solid.

I feel like he is a true gem when it comes to doctors. He takes his time when he visits with you and your child. Yes you do wait a bit of time sometimes but that is ok for the amount of care he puts into each and every patient. I have not had issues getting in touch with anyone. I have left messages which are returned with in 24 hours and messages in the portal are answered in a timely manner too.

Where do I start. First, they are NEVER on time. Expect to wait at least 30-60 mins past your…read morescheduled appointment before you are either taken back or see the doctor. Here is my experience: 1) Unprofessional. Never even talked to the actual Neurologist, only his NP. 2) Was told my son had absence seizures off first EEG. They recommend Topamax for my son. We had to go do a 14 hr EEG and sleep study just for them to tell me everything came back normal AFTER they tried to put my son on neurological medication after the first EEG. 3) NP never could answer my questions with ANY ACTUAL information, answers were always very simple and could be found in a google search. Came to meetings very unprepared and ALWAYS late. 4) The billing is horrible. They overcharged my insurance and myself multiple times. When I called to get more detail about EOB, the biller didnt seem well educated on what they actually were billing me or my insurance. 5) NO COMMUNICATION. Noone prepared us for the overnight EEG, which by the way is conducted in the most run down, disgusting "Motel 6" type facility. 6) No patient bedside manner. My son is 5 yrs old and you tell me he is having seizures, then tell me everything is normal. The emotional toll this whole process has been for me, my husband, and my son has been intense. I feel like after 3 months, 7 dr appts, I have less answers and more questions than I started with. NP made me feel like she was always in a hurry and unprepared for our meetings. 7) All together my son had 2 in office evals, 2 EEGs (1 hr and a 14 hr overnight), genetic testing, and multiple survey/tests and the end result is he is normal. Sounds and feels like a money grab to me. They charge you for documentation about your child's milestones that YOU fill out. Not only did I have to pay a copay for them to email me the documents (an office visit co-pay), but then you have to pay for them to review. You also have to pay for EVERY time you talk to the doctor. I paid for the EEG, but you then have to pay to get the results. We were recommended by two people to see Dr. Rotenberg so we gave this place a chance, the problem is you NEVER talk or see Dr. Rotenberg. I honestly feel like this was all a money grab. I literally HAVE NO NEW insight on my child at all. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND. THIS HAS BEEN THE WORST EXPERIENCE AND I ABSOLUTELY FEEL BAMBOOZLED.

When I was shopping for a new Family Practitioner in town, I looked for recs from my other…read morephysicians and Dr. Posey's name came up. There are a few things I look for when I'm researching for a medical professional. First, I look up credentials (no brainer there) and Dr. Posey just happened to have graduated from my alma mater albeit many moons before me. Second, I look up any ratings available online or any personal recommendations from other patients and/or doctors. Finally, the ease, efficiency and politeness of their front office staff. Nothing's worse than trying to get an appointment or a simple question answered with a staff that's rude and incompetent. Thankfully, Associates in Medicine (which Dr. Posey is a part of) has a very pleasant and efficient staff. There are many things I love about going to an "old school" doctor. Dr. Posey isn't a young man (in fact, he reminds me of my grandfather) but his knowledge is broad and he is impeccably thorough in his examinations. In one of his initial thorough examinations, I found out I had mitral valve prolapse which had gone undiagnosed by my former physician for 20+ years. Dr. Posey listened to my heart sounds in all the correct positions while sitting up as well as had me turn to my left side while supine so the heart could be in a more anterior position to hear the "click" of my inefficient valve more clearly. I think I've only EVER done that in school and have never actually seen it in practice. I also had an EKG done (other issues with my heart) which, again, my original physician never did. He also did neuro checks which many, many physicians would skip in a young, seemingly healthy patient like myself. Overall, Dr. Posey requests a full physical exam once a year in his patients which include blood work (CBC, chemistry, thyroid, cholesterol panel), urinalysis & culture, and a chest x-ray. During my first year being his patient, I declined all the exams (because I was a bad patient and just wanted to be seen for my actual focused problem) but since then I've been compliant because I know Dr. Posey is looking out only for my best interest. Perhaps one of my favorite things about Dr. Posey is his bedside manner. He isn't one of those 5 minute physicians we're all so used to these days. He takes his time to interview you and do your exam to correctly diagnose the problem. And if he doesn't have the answer, he's more than happy to refer you to someone who does (with a personal phone call). Once, when I had to have minor surgery, Dr. Posey arranged my office visit with the surgeon for the following morning by calling the surgeon himself while I waited in one of the exam rooms. When he came back, he handed me a printed copy of my insurance and told me that the surgeon's office was expecting my call and that I was scheduled the next morning for my surgery. When I went to the surgeon's office the following day, apparently, the surgeon doesn't even have morning clinic that day but put me in as a favor to Dr. Posey! I sincerely appreciated that extra little effort. I know how hard it is to find a good physician these days and I feel very fortunate to have stumbled upon such a great doc.

Saw Dr. Blum 1 time, and did not respond well to new medication he prescribed which was not his…read morefault , but I was experiencing intense migraines calling every 4 days for support medication refill just to make the day tolerable (definitely not pain free) and told his team I was in extreme pain,...I got nowhere. I finally talked to his nurse who said I probably needed an infusion and would catch the doctor or NP/PA to get me in immediately and I never heard back from them! I finally called my GP 2 days later who immediately got me into his office, received steroidal and nausea infusion, and he transitioned me off the medication he prescribed a new one until my new neurologist appointment. Just shy of a very painful 1 month nightmare!...and I'm sure the doctor was never informed by his staff.
