I was skeptical at first of getting a place that provided dj and photography services. However, this place was recommended by our venue and I am glad we went with their recommendation. The photographer and video personnel were top notch. I cannot wait until we receive our pictures and video from our wedding. Some of the previews we received have been incredible. We also received a free blown up print of one of our engagement photos which we cannot wait to frame. Now the big one was their DJ and MC. These guys CRUSHED IT. There were other events going on during our wedding and our ballroom sounded like a night club from the lobby. It was exactly what my wife and I wanted and everyone told us they had a great time. Even the staff working the venue told us that we had the best DJ and had the best party. They also brought extra things like glow sticks and sunglasses and it was just one huge party. Also, splurge for the 10 person photobooth. Everyone loves photo booths at receptions. The more people you can fit into one the better! read more

My parents booked Pinilla over 2 years ago for their 50th anniversary celebration. Due to COVID we had to keep outgoing the celebration until finally we had to cancel it. It was canceled well before the contract limits and we have not received any $ back. We have tried to contact them to no avail (phone calls, emails , my dad went to their location). When I finally did reach someone (I had to pretend to be a new customer) I was told the owner would call me back. Here we are a month later and no phone call. My parents are retired and cannot afford to lose $5,000!!! Shame on you! read more

Really great DJs. They have been in the business a long time and it shows. Very professional. We had one finalization meeting before the wedding and they were able to answer our questions, clear up any confusion, and made some great suggestions on how to have everything go smoothly. I caught an old co-worker's anniversary function a couple of weeks ago over by the Socrates Sculpture Park and took note of the professionalism exuded by the photographer by Pinilla Studios. It wasn't easy to get about 20 people together and composed for a series of photographs without getting frustrated, but he did it with grace and some engaging humor. When I found out that these folks hired the DJ as well for the event from Pinilla, I found it remarkable. The DJ was in tune with the crowd, and got everyone moving! What's interesting about this ent. Company is the level of talent that meets professionalism.You might get good DJs somewhere else. I personally know many good ones. You can get professionalism in other companies, but it'll be hard to find both in one company. Pinilla is so that company! DJs are amazing and the whole company is very professional with a brick and mortar location in Astoria you can actually walk into and have reps accountable for all your needs. So you don't have to hire your cousin who DJs on the weekends or some Dj with a website in a basement somewhere lol We used them for my Sister's wedding and the party was jumping for all ages in my family. Dj knew how to get the youth and the elders on their feet. And the cultural diversity was no issue for them, the Dj was rockin' different genres easily and knew how to keep in step with all our needs for the ceremony. Memories to remember for a lifetime! I used Pinilla Studios for my wedding at Ricardos June 12,2004 and they were excellent. I love how they are there taking pictures but almost feel like they are not because they don't crowd your space and allowed us to greet our family and friends as they took pictures from afar. When I went to the Astoria World manor show case the DJ from Pinilla performing was phenomenal. So I decided to go with their DJ services. We were scheduled to have a meeting with a DJ (the guy you meet isn't guaranteed to be your DJ the night of the party) so we can pick and choose what songs we wanted to be played and what songs we didn't. The night of the party we saw a totally different guy. Also, none of the songs we requested were even played. In other words the meeting is a total waste of time. Then during the party some songs were played more then once. In one occasion the song "diamonds" was played twice back to back. They might have some DJ's that are good but you pretty much better hope you get lucky and get a good DJ. You don't get to meet your DJ till the day of your party. I wouldn't risk it. read more

I highly recommend PINILLA STUDIOS for any wedding needs. They over delivered in absolutely everything. From the start, Tammy was very easy to work with. We appreciated her dilligent work ethic. Leading up to the wedding, I felt at ease knowing that Tammy and team were going to come through. And they sure did! The day of my wedding was simply flawless. The photographer day of was funny and charasmatic. A couple of months later when I received my album, it was simply amazing. The team did a fantastic job in designing the layout. My wife and I used Pinilla for our wedding a couple of years ago. We got the photography, video, and dj package. We felt the we would be saving a lot of money by bundling, and we did. Everyone at pinilla was very nice. About a week before our wedding we met with the dj to talk about what music we wanted and didn't want. We were very specific. Everything with pinilla went very smooth until the day of our wedding. The photographer was less than professional and when we got the pictures a few months later we were very disappointed with the quality of the photography. For example there was a picture of our wedding invitation but next to it was the TVs remote control. The dj played whatever he wanted. We heard very little of what we requested. He just played Spanish music all night and we didn't want that because our families are diverse and we wanted a mix, not just Spanish music. If we could redo it I would chose to not use pinilla again. read more

I used Pinilla Studios for my Sweet 16 and they were ok..This is when they were in Forest Hills. About 1-2 months ago i dropped in, talked to a VERY NICE person. She was very helpful and nice and we agreed on an arrangement but did not sign anything just in case because i needed to talk to my fiance first..She put in a memo to call me on Tuesday to confirm the contract.... So the tuesday comes and she never calls..Might be busy i understand.. So i decided to call. The woman who answers VERY UNPROFESSIONAL..i was talking to her about my visit there and wanted to go over the contract..She didn't even bother looking up my contract she waited until I told her... me: i have a sampled contract, do you guys have it? HER: "well i have to go look up your contract"..you should've looked it up once i called!!!! So this kind of scared me to sign with them..on the other hand the person dealing with me when i visited was very nice but the professionalism was totally off with this woman who answered the phone... Then they called me AT LEAST 3-5 times for 3 weeks...................... Really??? I decided not to book with them..They were offering GREAT and CHEAP prices.. but i was not willing to risk it... Be careful also once you give your information to your wedding place..This place especially will harass you.. i dont even call it trying to make business with you..because they call WAY TOO MANY TIMES.. read more

There are no words to explain how great Pinilla studios truly is. We had so many services booked with Pinilla; photographer & videographer, Step and Repeat and DJ & MC. I didn't know much about them so I was nervous at first but boy did they come through. People were up and dancing before dinner was even served. As people ate they jammed to the music. We told DJ Chris that the music was just as important as food as my groom and I are really big on music. It was the perfect blend of r&b, bachata, tipico, salsa and house music. The photographer, Chris, was also phenomenal. He made everyone laugh and have a good time as we took pictures and was so flexible. We were unable to go to the park we originally planned to and take pictures but he worked with what we had, which was the garden next to the church. The videographer was the sweetest person ever and told me how touched he was by the father/daughter dance. The step and repeat photographer and greeter (an alternative to the phtobooth) also did amazing. My guests took as many pictures as they wanted on the red carpet and received a frame along with the picture at the end of the night. It worked as a favor and people loved it. Pinilla really listened to everything we wanted and delivered it! I just loved how dedicated they were to make our day as amazing as possible. We celebrated our daughter's Sweet 16 at Astoria World Manor on August 8, 2014. We hired Pinilla because they work closely with the venue and we did not want to experience any issues. They promised a DJ, MC and percussionist. The DJ was doing double duty and acting as MC. The percussionist was playing in a corner all night and did not work the crowd. The DJ did not play popular songs or songs that we provided on a flash drive. They did not make a dedication we requested. They did not give out party favors as they said they would. They did not deliver on anything they promised much to our surprise. We would not recommend them. They seemed like a sure thing and turned out to be a dud. read more

Way to overpriced. I saw thier showcase at the astoria world manor and they were fantastic. I decided to hire them for my wedding and man was I upset. The dj played old music who plays gloria estefan anymore. The dj and mc lacked personality, they bored me. Im not saying they r all horrible djs just dj purro and his mc did not work for us. Will not recommend them at all. Maybe other djs at pinilla are better. They should give us a refund lol. read more
