Great mom and pop Chocolate shop in Finleyville, Pa. Chocolate is smooth, and yummy, starts melting in your hand as soon as you hold it. They have everything you need for your Chocolate fix. This day, I got the Lemon and Blueberry Vanilla bark, Chocolate covered PB cream Oreos, and PB meltaways, everything delicious. If you love chocolate, this place is a must!

The Pink House Chocolate shop used to be known as Wagner's chocolates. I was greeted warmly by Michelle who explained to me that this business took over Wagner's but kept their same recipes. All chocolates are made in house. You are permitted to "sample" a couple of chocolates if you are making up your own box. Premade boxes are also available for sale. I had the opportunity to sample both a white chocolate covered cherry cordial and a peppermint bark dark chocolate that had peppermint throughout the chocolate. Both were literally to die for!! In addition to boxed chocolates you can purchase chocolate "pops" in various shapes. They are currently transitioning from Valentine's day to Easter. Michelle told me they plan to make filled eggs in various sizes for sale. There is a small vegan section of chocolates. What they do is take a candy such as a zagnut bar and cover it in vegan made chocolate. I want to note that this candy is interspersed among some regular candy but it is marked vegan on the bag. I like the fact that all bagged candy is marked with an expiration date. You will even find small pouches of vegan hot chocolate! I did purchase a vegan zagnut bag and it is delicious! Their candy is pure without preservatives, made by hand, and made daily. In addition to vegan you can get gluten free, nut free, and Kosher. Make sure to read ingredients or check with a staff member if you have concerns. The house is very charming just to walk through. One room has candy molds and other supplies if you wish to make your own. Their main room sells everything to Steeler sports themed chocolates to chocolate covered wine bottles. I have seen this concept before. You literally bring your own wine bottle and they will douse it in their chocolate for a fee. In addition, there is chocolate bark covering various things like pistachio and potato chips. I ended up buying my husband a chocolate covered Twinkie upon her recommendation. Off to the back they have an adorable ice cream parlor that sells Hershey's ice cream. I loved how the tables were arranged and even one resembled a twin bed. Outside they have a small playground area for children and outdoor eating will be available in the spring. In addition to ice cream they sell Keurig coffee. Michelle told me that they don't do catering but rather people come here to order party favors for that special occasion. The owner Debbie wasn't there but she also has above the vegan shelf a small area where you can purchase jewelry made by a relative. Chocolate themed greeting cards are also for sale as well as aprons and mugs. I was literally blown away when Michelle and I were in the ice cream area and she showed me these mammoth chocolate covered strawberries. They are by no means cheap but believe me they looked so tempting and inviting. I learned that Pink House chocolates are sold in various Giant Eagle Market districts but in a limited supply in their specialty candy section. They also sell candy in various pharmacies and Jefferson Hospital in limited supply. Nevertheless, if there is anything in particular you want just give them a call and they can work with you in making your order. Expect to pay more here but when it is quality that's never an issue for me. The business puts a lot of hard work into making these chocolates and it shows. I'm glad they have something for everyone. The house itself is worth the drive to Finleyville and is just off Rt 88 once you go past Trax Farm and Mineral Beach. They do fundraising and also have a website where you can order directly and learn more about the business itself. Normally candy is a risk for me when it comes to online shopping but they do lay out the terms fairly well and you get a good idea of what they have to offer. They are open daily. Hours vary in winter and summer. Hours also noted on their website.

Hard to miss as you drive by!

It sells a wide variety of old-fashioned/nostalgic and modern candies, glass-bottled sodas, and gifts for people of all ages. The store is filled with shelves of candies of many kinds--hard, gummy, sweet, sour, chocolates, etcetera--which customers may purchase individually or in bulk. In addition, a candy-buffet wall allows you to fill up a box for $5. The sodas are available in hundreds of flavors. Examples of the gifts are greeting cards, books, mugs, toys and socks. Other fun details: With the Vault Loyalty Program, customers earn 1 snozzberry for each $1 spent, and they may unlock the vault after earning 100, 300, or 500 snozzberries. Customers may rent a video-gaming room for a reasonable price. A toy train moves around a track near the ceiling. During my visit, Grandpa Joe's had installed 10 14-foot-tall inflated ducks on rooftops of nearby buildings. Anyway, I bought several candies, most of which I was not previously familiar with. Each one cost a couple to a few dollars. I thought that they tasted "good."

An employee was busy serving another customer but soon after served me. She made friendly conversation. Here are my reviews for what I bought: S'more - 5 stars - I liked the chocolate, marshmallows, and graham cracker of this s'more. Raspberry chocolates - 5 stars - I liked the strong flavor of raspberries in the center of the milk chocolate. Strawberry chocolates - 4 stars - I liked the milk chocolate but thought that the strawberry could taste differently. Chocolate-covered cherries - 5 stars - These cherries and milk chocolate met my expectations and tasted very good. Gummy flower bouquet - 4.5 stars - This flower bouquet was constructed from many pieces of gummies, and I thought that it looked so pretty. The gummies were slightly hard and chewy but tasted good. Mountain Magic - 5 stars - Chunks contained marshmallows, rice, and peanut butter. I definitely taste the peanut butter and really enjoyed it. Peppermint-chocolate marshmallow - 4 stars - A large marshmallow was covered in milk chocolate and covered in peppermint pieces. One without peppermint would have fit my personal preferences better. Hot-cocoa spoon - 4.5 stars - A plastic spoon contained chocolate, marshmallows, and sparkles. I put it in hot milk to melt it. The hot chocolate tasted good. Sugarfina Sparkling Rose Bears - 5 stars - Gummy bears had a slight flavor of rose wine. Chocolate-covered pretzels - 5 stars - Chocolate-covered pretzels are one of my favorites. One pretzel was covered in milk chocolate, and the other pretzel was covered in white chocolate. Buckeyes - 3.5 stars - These buckeyes had tasty milk chocolate but needed a stronger flavor of peanut butter. The employee could not give me either a printed or emailed receipt. My husband paid and said that the total cost was ~$60.

The woman working that day was very friendly, not overbearing, and willing to provide suggestions and recommendations where needed. I got an assortment of chocolates from the bulk case ($32/lb) and a few Easter items. I ended up totaling somewhere around $30. The chocolate was fresh and each piece that I had the pleasure of sampling was delicious. If I need a gift or just a mid-day pick me up, I wouldn't hesitate to stop in here.

I was a little disappointed that the kind girls working behind the counter couldn't explain what some of the candies were, but they did offer to let me try one which made up for it some.
