My Favorite Sweet Shoppe is a local business that sells many candies, chocolates, fudges, gourmet caramel apples, custom treats, and much more. I shopped here one time. An employee was busy serving another customer but soon after served me. She made friendly conversation. Here are my reviews for what I bought: S'more - 5 stars - I liked the chocolate, marshmallows, and graham cracker of this s'more. Raspberry chocolates - 5 stars - I liked the strong flavor of raspberries in the center of the milk chocolate. Strawberry chocolates - 4 stars - I liked the milk chocolate but thought that the strawberry could taste differently. Chocolate-covered cherries - 5 stars - These cherries and milk chocolate met my expectations and tasted very good. Gummy flower bouquet - 4.5 stars - This flower bouquet was constructed from many pieces of gummies, and I thought that it looked so pretty. The gummies were slightly hard and chewy but tasted good. Mountain Magic - 5 stars - Chunks contained marshmallows, rice, and peanut butter. I definitely taste the peanut butter and really enjoyed it. Peppermint-chocolate marshmallow - 4 stars - A large marshmallow was covered in milk chocolate and covered in peppermint pieces. One without peppermint would have fit my personal preferences better. Hot-cocoa spoon - 4.5 stars - A plastic spoon contained chocolate, marshmallows, and sparkles. I put it in hot milk to melt it. The hot chocolate tasted good. Sugarfina Sparkling Rose Bears - 5 stars - Gummy bears had a slight flavor of rose wine. Chocolate-covered pretzels - 5 stars - Chocolate-covered pretzels are one of my favorites. One pretzel was covered in milk chocolate, and the other pretzel was covered in white chocolate. Buckeyes - 3.5 stars - These buckeyes had tasty milk chocolate but needed a stronger flavor of peanut butter. The employee could not give me either a printed or emailed receipt. My husband paid and said that the total cost was ~$60. read more

If you're looking for a specialty sweet treat, this is definitely the place to go! I had a $12.50 for $25 worth of product coupon to use that brought me into this cute little shop on the main street of Carnegie. The woman working that day was very friendly, not overbearing, and willing to provide suggestions and recommendations where needed. They offer free samples of their mountain crunch (?) that was light, crunchy, and peanut butter-y. She said it's one of their top sellers and I can understand why. I got an assortment of chocolates from the bulk case ($32/lb) and a few Easter items. I ended up totaling somewhere around $30. The chocolate was fresh and each piece that I had the pleasure of sampling was delicious. If I need a gift or just a mid-day pick me up, I wouldn't hesitate to stop in here. read more

Stumbled upon this spot while seeking out a Starbuck's and I'm so happy I did! Sweets galore including two counters, ordered in and made in house. I chose the made in house case. I could literally see them rolling the buckeyes as I ordered them! Yum is an understatement this chocolate (and peanut butter) was sooo good! I also had a cookie dough Oreo... worth every penny of $2.50. Prices are more than reasonable for quality chocolate and service is great. They were very respectful of my tree nut allergy and explained the risks of contact with their products, being careful to change gloves for my treats. They were also kind about patient recommendations for a first timer! I don't know when I will be in the area again but if you happen to live in the area or be close it's very worth stopping by! We were regulars for every holiday and gift giving occasion. No more, I'm afraid. Customer service is terrible. I called to confirm that a specialty item was available. Told yes. Arrived, told I had to special order it. That's fine, but the rude approach of the woman was almost comical. Dismissive and sarcastic "I have no idea who you spoke to, if you did call, but we don't have those here without ordering" Giving another chance, I went back to purchase holiday gifts. The young woman working literally could not be bothered. After standing at the counter for minutes while she was making candy, I had to apologize for needing assistance. Met with eye roll. And......the truffles had mold in them. So disappointed in the decline of this store. read more

I loveeeee sweets. I could live on chocolate alone and I would be sooo happy. I was in heaven when I walked in and saw all the options. They have candy old and new school like lady taffy and those pretend cigarettes. I didn't get any of those. I saw Carmel apples and I needed one. They were enormous and super yummy ! They cut it up for me and it was still warm because they just made it. We ordered a chocolate and peanut butter covered pretzel. It was very good and super delicious. We will definitely be coming back here to get more goodies. It was pretty reasonably priced for the size of the goodies. read more

I was gifted a box for chocolate sweets from this shop and was thoroughly impressed with the quality. There was a smooth meltaway peanut butter chocolate, a coconut almond and a salted pecan truffle. All were equally delicious. Now I can't wait to go check out the store in person. read more

I just happened to be walking past between the UPS store and Starbucks, and saw this cute lil' candy shoppe on the way, so I stopped in. There were lots of employees working on making candy and fudge, and the place smelled delicious. They had all kinds of candy, to include home-made in a glass case, sold by the piece or pound, and a lot of pre-made packaged candies, and bubble gum. I noticed they had a case for gelato, but it was empty, so I am guessing that is a seasonal item. I bought a few items from the case, and everyone was helpful and pleasant. Close your eyes and face away from the front of this kitschy little shop in the south hills. Open them. You should imagine you're on a boardwalk somewhere on the East Coast. Imagine you can hear seagulls, waves crashing, and the sounds of people having a good time. Great little sweet shoppe with gelato, Home made truffles, chocolate covered sweets and treats. Even treats for the pooch. A bit pricey, two gelatos was 14 bucks. We tried peanut butter cup and salted caramel. Both were decadent and loaded with different textures. Not worth 7 bucks though. Free parking, bonus star there. They also have those hard to find candy bars from youth. Bun candy bars, Reggie bars, Milk Shake Bars, pixie sticks and more. read more

This small, quaint, family owned sweet shop is located in the plaza in which I work. It is very convenient as I can walk to it after work and not have to fight for a parking spot! The last two times I have been there, the employees were new or being trained on the job. It appeared as if there was high turnover, however with a little help for experienced employees, I was able to purchase my items. I have tried their fudge, however, I often gravitate towards their homemade truffles. They are sold by weight and I have not had one I haven't like to this date. They sell several other chocolate candies that they make on site, while other products are brought in and may be purchased by the piece. The cost of the fudge is pricey, but I think fair compared to other small candy shops that sell fudge. In addition, this small store sells all kinds of small candies - the type of goodies you may find in a pinata. The options are pretty endless and you get sucked in to buying more than you originally plan to! I am willing to pay a little more for homemade chocolates, especially when it supports a small, family owned shop like this one. Very nice inside. Even on a hot day they keep it icy cool inside with no humidity. Add in some frozen gelato and it's the perfect place to sit and cool off. Love this candy shoppe. The smell when you walk in is delicious. I love the chocolate covered wine bottles. They make a really nice gift and are always a hit. There are many different options to choose from and you drop off your own bottle of wine to be chocolate dipped. It's great because you can customize your gift to fit the persons taste. The place smelled pretty good, it's bright, and colorful. So overall it has a nice atmosphere, accompanied by the nice layout of the store. The girl working the front wasn't very outgoing but she wasn't brash or rude in any way, just accommodating without going any further, which is just alright with me. The chocolates, fudge, and apple we got came out to 40$ which is quite a bit but it is a specialty store that makes everything in house so it was kind of expected. As for quality and taste I must say I'm pretty callus to hyperpalatable foods as I am a pretty avid home baker/pastry maker so impressing me with sweets is not an easy task. All this being said it was mostly all really good, my only gripe being that the fudge had a more "melt in your mouth" kind of texture then a thick "fudgy" fudge. The Caramel & Peanut Butter Twist was especially good, and the S'mores Bark reminded me of Christmas in a personally nostalgic way as we used to get s'mores candies in our stockings. Another one of my favorites was the Sugar Free Sea Salt Caramel which was surprisingly really, truly good. Definitely not something I would have guessed was going to be that good, let alone sugar free. The Heath Heaven caramel apple was alright, but we thought that the caramel was a bit on the soft side and that the toffee bits weren't crunchy like a Heath bar. This Sweet Shoppe has any type of candy lover in mind. It's not hard to find a chocolate or candy you'll become addicted to. If you choose the gourmet apples which are always crisp, I'd have a hard time choosing between the American Pie Apple and the Cookies and Cream Apple. Both are equally good! Since chocolate and peanut butter sweets are my favorite I highly recommend the Buckeyes as well as the mini peanut butter cups! What's great about My Favorite Sweet Shoppe is that they put together amazing gift baskets and party favors. What a delightful little gem in the heart of the newly renovated Collier Township. This woman owned business boasts of an amazing recipe of 'mountain bark' of which my kids simply can't get enough. Rich peanut butter, gooey marshmallow, tiny chocolate chips and another flavor i can't quite put my finger on keeps me coming back again and again. The chocolate is good, perhaps it isn't 'the best you have ever had'. It it's definitely up the chain in quality, though. The prices are reasonable but I dare you to walk in and spend less than $40 because you will want to try everything! From the chocolate covered bacon to the Oreo truffles there is a chocolate to satisfy even the pickiest sweet tooth. The gelato is great... They give very generous samples. I was kinda surprised to hear that they don't make it in the store though... Something about it being made near Squirrel Hill? Whatever, it's still splendidly good. You can buy many chocolate candies ranging from chocolate covered bacon to (choc. Covered) lemons peels. They have a wide assortment of truffles. My fav and most common suggestion is the birthday cake, but they are pricey, you can buy twelve for like, $32?! They have gummy bears that I believe are made in store. And finally bulk candy that is weighed when you buy it. You can also buy some chilled soda in the good ol' glass bottles. The customer service at the store was awesome! I was late picking up a basket for a Christmas present and when I called the staff never made me feel as though I was annoying them. Had dinner at Bakn and was looking for a place to get a good dessert. This place was less than 2 miles away so we decided to give it a try. NOT disappointed!! The owners were there and took the time to give my youngest several gelato tastings. I had the coconut cream pie and it was perfect. Just the right amount of graham sprinkles and coconut. My daughter decided on half coconut cream and half blackberry and she declared it awesome. My oldest wandered over to the chocolate covered apples and the owner again took her time to explain all of them. She ended up getting the triple chocolate. Each apple is first dipped in caramel then chocolate and all the toppings. Their big seller? Apple pie. Caramel, white chocolate and graham on the bottom. I plan on getting it next time. They also make truffles, chocolate , chocolate covered pretzels and bacon. They are open till 9 in the summer even though the sign on the door says 8. I have never wrote a bad review, but felt I had to after my experience. I have been to the sweet shoppe many times in the past, but today experience was completely unwelcoming. The staff were doing their side work and paperwork at the tables for guest to sit at. I was not greeted by anyone when I walked in the door or asked if I needed help with anything. I asked for some gelato to the woman fiddling with her Ipad and was told to ask the one woman who was working on the chocolate covered apples. Once I got the gelato, there was nowhere to sit so I ate in my car. When I left, the woman one her ipad starred at me as I left...???? Of the four employees in the store, only one helped me after I had to ask. (I was also the only customer in the store) I only ate half the gelato. The quality of the gelato went down hill since the last time I had it there (different supplier was what I was told). I will not be back or will not recommend to anyone solely based on how unfriendly the environment and staff was. read more
