I love these stores- they are super cute. This is the type of place that's nice to browse around to find unique gifts ( or something cute for yourself) on a beautiful sunny weekend. For these small unique specialty shops; I think the items in here are priced fairly. This is a great place to bring people visiting NYC that want to stop at some fun smaller shops. Unfortunately they do not accept cash payment in-store, which is illegal in nyc :/ From NYC Consumer and Worker Protection: "NYC businesses must accept cash unless they have a machine to convert cash to a prepaid card. They cannot charge more for paying in cash." Everything is millenial overpriced enshitified trash anyway. Save it for the tourists and transplants move on. read more

Super smoochie quaint gift shop. Tons of small market or homemade candles, postcards, gift cards, and small bowls and plates. Nice selection of young child to latency age child books-- many seasonal (currently Halloween). Good selection of animal and food Jellycat stuffed animals, too. Some NYC themes board books, and a small but nice collection of infant and young child shirts, onesies, and beanies. Prices are a little on the higher side but it's the West Village and higher end stuff. Great place to get kids and family some alternative souvenirs to the cheap novelty items at most NYC gift shops. read more

Crappy customer service! We bought a $42 candle that was packed in a brown paper bag. A block away from the store the bottom of the bag broke, the candle went straight to the pavement and broke down. We went back to the store and the shopkeeper was terribly sorry, took our information and assured us that her boss would replace the candle (since the issue was clearly the poor packaging conditions). They didn't call us, so we went back and they let us know that "once you are out of the store is your issue". Their carelessness and callousness to save a couple of bucks led to a lost customer who lives in the neighborhood. We will gladly share our experience with all of our friends in the neighborhood, so they know better than to go there. Funny enough, there are a lot of small artisanal stores in the Village, in fact, we had dropped the candle in front of one of such stores. The owner helped us picked up the glass and was kind to us. We just went back there and spent four times as much as the freaking candle. read more

This place is super cute. I stopped in when I was looking for some small gifts for my boyfriend's niece and nephew, which can be a difficult thing since they're like, babies. I yelped cute boutique gift shops and found Pink Olive, and now that I know this gem exists i'll definitely be back! This quaint little shop has the best of everything when it comes to stationary, books, and paper goods for gifts. They have cards for all different kinds of occasions and a little corner dedicated to children's clothes, toys and stuffed animals. I ended up buying a really sweet onesie and a card. Often times it's hard to find shops that sell these kinds of goods, so now that I know about Pink Olive, it's definitely going to be my go to gift stop. read more

Pink Olive has always had a special place in my heart. If I'm heading down to the West Village or Soho, I always stop in. And even if I need a special gift, I will make sure that I go out of the way to come to Pink Olive. They have multiple locations, but I visit this location and the one in Cold Spring the most. A-dorable! Super cute card and gift shop with friendly employees. Always has a fun item for any occasion, and fantastically local items. On one particular occasion they had art on the wall that I loved but I wasn't in the market for any wall art. Two weeks later I was still thinking about it and decided to buy it for a friend. I would shop here every day, if I could. Walking around in this store puts a massive smile on my face! The products are charming, cute and beautiful. I bought my friend's daughter a tutu at the east village location. The west village location I have purchased mugs, pens and organizers. I love the little pens that say "you are loved." I have a supply in my office at work and it just makes me happy. Prices can be a bit steep here but the quality is worth it. In both the west village and east village locations, staff has always been friendly and helpful. These are the types of stores that I wish NYC had more of: small shops with a Big Bang on quality and sweet vibes. read more

This is one of my all time favorite places in all of the city to come to for gifts and cards. They have a wonderful selection of cards as well as gifts for babies and adults alike. I am constantly finding great things and discovering new brands that I would have not known about if not for this store. They have a snail mail card where if you buy 12 cards, you get 1 free. Also, everyone who works here is so friendly and helpful. Definitely would recommend if looking for a unique place for gifts or cards. read more

Store is very cute and their hand poured candles smell wonderful- but are not worth the price. When I hold the candle up to my nose I can smell it- but that's about it. This location seemed to have more NY themed items than their East Village sister store, but I haven't been in that store in over 6 mos. I spent more than I planned on a bunch of fun greeting cards for birthdays. Better to have some "special card" goodies in the drawer than a last minute rush for a so-so card at Duane Reade. Went to the store to get a notebook and no one was in store. I waited for awhile and even came back 30 mins later and no one was still there. I came today to get a Mother's Day card and the store was again closed saying that they'd be back in 5mins. After I waited for about 10 mins I came back and was not able to purchase the card because they have a card minimum. I work in the neighborhood and asked if I could come back later to purchase something else because I was on a quick break and shipping my gift to my mom in Atlanta today. No exception was made. Instead the employee sat behind the counter, pointing to items for me to choose from, until I had to ask for the third time for assistance. I was so excited to visit this shop, and actually manage a boutique myself and was not impressed with the poor customer service. Will not go back. read more

adorable store. they have a great selection of unique and whimsical cards done by really talented illustrators, yummy cookbooks and a huge selection artisan scented candles in both full size and travel size (i bought 3 - fig & rosemary, pine & citrus and ocean - and they all smell great). The woman behind the counter was friendly and funny. I will be back soon. SO excited they opened a new shop!! I haven't actually purchased anything yet since they just opened last Saturday but I've always been a fan of pink olive and have shopped online and there other NY locations. I live directly across the street and can see the shop from my bedroom window so I'm sure this will be my go to for birthday gifts etc. I kept seeing construction and work being done in the vacant store and was so thrilled when I saw the sign saying a pink olive was coming!!
