The food is authentic, and the portions were fine for 6 adults and 3 kids. They only had ice-cream for dessert, which I think is a bit of a cop-out for an Indian restaurant. This meal was spot on, and the spicing was exceptional: there was a great balance of spice, heat, and flavour. The fat level was quite pleasant and there was beautiful use of green cardimom pod in the Roganjosh, and black cardimom pod in the Okra. The lamb was soft and flaked apart nicely under my fork without being dry. The service was quick, and polite, and I was able to walk in without a reservation. The place is spotless, clean, well furnished and has some extra touches in place including nice woodwork, and woven place mats and special cushions to sit on. Great experience. 5 stars!

Considering how expensive it is to eat in Dublin and considering how close this was to my hotel I had this twice and was impressed with my food both times! The restaurant space is quite small to eat in and most of their orders are for takeaway. The plastic containers used for takeaway is quite sturdy and I'd be reusing them again if I was a local. Service was great. They threw in a single piece of veggie samosa for good measure as a typical order comes in a set of 3. They even put in a little chutney sauce for dipping. There's plenty of potato and some peas in the samosa. I ordered one chicken and one lamb dish. I love spicy curries so I ordered the curries that come naturally spicy. The curries are made to order so expect at least a 10 minute wait while they cook your dish. - Chicken Madras (Curry from southern coast of India cooked with fresh coconut and curry leaves, €10.50). Madras is a British interpretation of curry found in South India. It is red due to the chili powder and there's usually a "milk" base to it, similar to Thai curries. The chicken pieces are big and there's plenty of curry left over to finish the rice. - Lamb Jalfrezi (Stir-fried lamb with onions, peppers and tomato flavoured with carom seeds, Stir-fried lamb with onions peppers and tomato flavoured with carom seeds, €11.50). Jalfrezi is Indian-Chinese made spicy because the meat is cooked usually with green peppers and onions. This dish was properly spicy and there's a good amount of lamb meat. There was enough curry left over to finish the rice. This was made by the suggestion of a local who overheard me asking for a recommendation for preferred lamb curries as I had chicken. This is reasonably priced comfort food considering how expensive it can be to eat out in Dublin. If this were in the US this would easily be my go-to place for Indian food to go.

It wasn't very spicy but finding great indian food is both a need and a challenge in Ireland, so any place that can fit the bill - especially when we're talking well outside of dublin, is going to get some of my time. I think the veggie sampler was a little bit small and the chili naan not quite spicy enough for my preferences, but overall I'd take stuff like chickpea bhaat and aloo gobi anywhere I can get it. Meanwhile, the food was honestly really good - and service was extremely polite as well. I don't quite understand how this place does not get more business when it is effectively serving excellent food. I guess maybe yelp can help them get on the radar.
