I'm giving this place a one star due to billing... so the dermatologist and esthetician I saw were great. However, in October I saw them and apparently they forgot to collect my copay and they sent me to collections for it!? I only found out because I called to make a follow up appointment and my account was on hold. This is stupid af. According to the collection agency, Schafer Law Firm who I had to call to pay the $30 they sent me (Pinnacle) one letter in October, the 19th to be exact. One letter. I didn't get that letter and it was the only communication that was sent. Idk about you but I've never been sent to collections for anything and it was alarming to say the least. It was fine. I paid it. No issues, but like WTF. Their billing sucks. read more

Highly recommend Pinnacle Dermatology. I have seen Dr. Seale several times for pre-cancer and skin cancer biopsies and removal. Dr. Seale is very pleasant and knowledgeable, her staff is good, and the front shop people are good. I've had a history of skin cancer for many years, and I would rate Dr. Seale as one of the best practitioners I've seen. read more

Had a biopsy done on my nose in September. Called back several times asking results. Was told the only thing showing was I owed money. Results were fine. Received a letter in January stating I have cancer and they had been trying to get a hold of me. Seriously!! This is now the second time I have skin cancer and not informed by them. Last time I found out by my regular doctor and she told me. This time no report was sent to my doctor's office. I asked her if she received the results from Pinnacle and she said no. This was in November. I can understand once, but twice. Let's not forget I had to request twice for a biopsy. Both times they came back positive. Freezing wasn't cutting it. read more

Paper statements only. Paid as agreed. Never opted into Electronic billing. They stopped paper statements and switched to electronic billing by email that I never authorized nor was informed and never answered calls nor returned them. I never knew anything about a "portal" online that I was supposed to access. They are willfully misleading in their billing practices and changed over from Paper to e billing without my knowledge nor consent. Don't go there. read more

If I didn't have to come here for treatment, I would never, ever be back. The back office staff is completely incompetent. At minimum, 3 out of 4 visits result in confusion, not having my medication ready, don't have me on the schedule, etc. Today was no different. I've had this appointment scheduled for 3 months and talked to them last week. When I walked in today, they incorrectly suggested I received a text and cancelled my appointment - I never received a text and secondly, I never would have cancelled. I would tell you that if you have another option for dermatology, you are better off going somewhere else. This place truly sucks. It's not the Doctors or PA's, rather the ENTIRE back office staff. I understand there are C and D students in every profession but this place has the lion's share of them. Like I said above, 3/4 visits are always screwed up - it's no way to run a legitimate business. read more

The actual service and dermatologists are great. But the rest is a rip off. I am 50 years old and this is the first time I feel like I have been ripped off and price gouged. First off they don't accept very good Michigan Medicine insurance. I had to get approval. So I assumed once approved they would accept the insurance and my cost would be my co pay. Just like it would be if I had went to St joes or Michigan medicine. (didn't go to either of those because getting an appt was 4 months out) So this is the first time I had surgery and didn't get an estimate of my costs before the surgery. Every other doctor on the planet does that. Again I assumed I was covered just like I would have been at st joes or Michigan Medicine. So I get the surgery and get a $2000 bill afterwards! Also they cut a big section out of my nose because of skin cancer and billed it as plastic surgery instead of stitching up the incision. So insurance didn't cover any of that. Completely absurd and ridiculous. Needless to say I cancelled thee rest of my appts and I am not going back. Its really too bad because I like the doctors. But they are complete price gougers and a rip off. If you agree to accept the insurance then you should accept the insurance. I had several appts before the surgery and they were collecting my co pay. Never once said anything about more out of pocket costs or an estimate for the surgery. I 100% assumed everything was covered. Also had they given me an estimate I would have waited the 4 months and let Michigan Medicine or St Joes do it with zero out of pocket costs. I scheduled multiple appointments at this facility. The first went very smooth and scheduled me a follow up in the room before I left. Except they didn't. I came for a surgery appointment on the day they told me I was scheduled and I was not on the schedule at all. They did get me back but weren't able to address all the areas I needed. They made sure I was actually scheduled for the follow up that time. I came the third time and waited for over 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment. They really need to review their administrative procedures because the medical staff are wonderful, but it was a nightmare actually trying to see them. read more

Contemplating a law suit against this place. Went for years there, I was sunburned badly as a child and have many spots on my back I thought were concerning. Every time I'd go, they'd cut 2 spots off...every single time. Then they would call me back some of the times to get more scooped out because of concerning tissue. They told me they can only do 2 at a time because that's all insurance would allow. So I got suspicious this place was using me as an apple tree so I made an appointment with dermatology at the U of M. I went and they didn't cut anything off and told me I don't need to come back for 2 years. So should I sue? read more

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE!!! I waited too long to switch from this practice. They FAIL to call after every biopsy ever performed and all but 1 was cancerous -You have to call them repeatedly an hope someone answers. The FAILED to ever send a 2022 biopsy or any of my records to the new practice showing cancerous/a typical cells. Now almost 2 YEARS later, sent a letter dated 2 months ago saying I was neglectful in not following up as they could not reach me to inform me of the news. BE STERN ON WHAT YOU NEED FOR YOU. Natacia didn't want to put me on accutane and tried to take any route she could to keep me paying for unnecessary drugs that weren't clearing my 10+ year old severe acne. She actually put me on hormone medications without having me get any proper blood testing done to even see if I had a hormone problem right after telling them I struggle with anxiety/depression and was on mind altering medication. The hormone pills they had me take started giving me worse depression symptoms and even made me have suicidal ideations for the very first time in my life. Her amazing idea was to put me on different pills that ended up costing me $90 why would I pay you to put me on drugs that I already told you that I know won't work? I told her I've had this severe acne since I was 11 and that I've tried everything and been offered accutane my whole life but since my parents wouldn't allow it they didn't. now that I'm 23 and can make my own decisions without my parents interfering I want to be put on accutane and natacia was trying to steer me away from it heavily. I know what works for my skin and she dosnt even lol at my face for more than 2 seconds then prescribed me drugs that that won't even tho I told her I've already been on various acne meds through the last 10 years that didn't work. She acted as if she needed to try different methods first thru my insurance before they would let me get put on the accutane (very understandable but not the case with me plz keep reading) . I went home and talked to my therapist basically to tell her I didn't feel right about paying $90 for meds I legit do not even want to put In my body. She told me with certain places like this you have to be your own advocate to receive the real proper help that you deserve. Unfortunately with this place you really do have to be your own advocate because a lot of the time these ppl here are just working for a paycheck and not for the genuine benefit of your health. Now with that being said this is why I feel offended by this place. Tell me why the second I called and asked if I could see a new dermatologist and told them that I was going to find a new office dr. Matt Adler immediately looked at my skin and says "oh wow yah youre definitely a contender for accutane you've probably had it for a long time and tried everything and nothing worked" I can't tell you how relieved I was to hear that from him. I felt I was being gaslit by natacia that I needed to try all these other meds when it turns out just the severity of my acne alone was able to bypass the period of having to take any pills. She knew I wanted accutane. She knew the route I wanted to go bc I was very stern with her about wanting to be on it and I came to her with these intentions. From the get she was trying to freak me out saying "are you sure there can be symptoms and this and that and this and that" .... like yes mam I get it there's symptoms with literally any intense drug to take natacia acted like I was a complete idiot and dr.Adler treated me as an adult with a brain who knows how their own body has been working for the last 10 years!! Lmao not trying to be sassy or rude but like be serious pinnicale dermatology. Why can't I ever get ahold of anyone when I call the actual line and not to set up a schedule? like this place is a mess. 8/10 reviews here are bad. Dr.adler is amazing and listens to his patients and makes them feel heard and taken care of. A lot of the (women it seems like) doctors here could use a lesson from him. I have been a patient for years and always enjoyed the staff and ambience the office offered. That changed as I was rudely accused of leaving a room and not being found. I was in a paper gown in a room 35 min. I never complained about having to wait. Two people came in and said "oh you are here we couldn't find you"? I said what are you talking about I have been freezing in here waiting for you. She then said nope we came into room 1 no one here. I said well you must have went into another room By mistake. NOPE she then said you aren't invisible maybe you went to the bathroom and FORGOT?! I forgot I walked out of the first room by the front desk staff in my gown to use the bathroom? She said yes because we came here you were gone. I felt like I was being harassed or maybe on candid camera. How can TWO professionals accuse a patient of leaving when I told them I was there the entire time and NEVER complained about them coming in late. I have been absolutely shaken from this . They were so rude and yes I swore at them and said how dare you F accuse me of being gone when I told you I have been in here patiently waiting . I have never been treated so poorly by two medical personal in my life. This office has changed since pinnacle took over. They don't care for patients like they once did. An elderly lady was waiting 50 min today and kept asking people why she wasn't being called. Finally the third girl told her the dr was behind. This is unacceptable behavior . I was called a liar for sitting patiently waiting for them, never complained just waiting my turn . Only to be told I must have forgot I left the room. These two people owe me an apology! read more

When i called to make an appointment and told them i want moles removed and a cyst removed they said ok. Then when i got there i waited over an hour in the waiting room just for the the doctor to look at two molars and my cyst and say oh we do not remove moles anymore and oh come back for your cyst removal! This is rediculous what kind of dermatologist are you? I have been here before to have moles removed but now the excuse is "insurance does not cover it" well it would of been nice to know before wasting my time and money! Now i am out 60.00 copay for nothing!! Never going back again! read more
