I cannot say enough great things about our experience today. I originally made two separate appointments for myself and my son due to our schedules. On the day of my appointment my son's schedule opened up. I called on a chance they could move his appointment and we lucked out. That usually never works in our favor. When we arrived the receptionist was professional and pleasant. Dr Troiani saw both of us. Again, I was pleasantly surprised at the experience. Our family has been going to Pinnacle for years but are leaving because of Amanda in the pharmacy who convinced my husband to get Rx there which was $150 instead of $20 through our insurance. Said there was some approval process that might take time. We were in no rush because my son was not even starting the medication for 2 weeks. Then when you would like to the consultation cost they transfer you to a rude representative that says they can't quote over the phone because each doctor sets their own price. I switched to pinnacle because I was told they were in my network and honored my annual preventative skin check office visit ! I left my last doctor because they stopped honoring the annual visit!. After confirming two different times, I went for my appointment! They removed a small spot on my toe! I got the bills I was charged for the office visit that wasn't supposed to be on there. There was also a charge for two surgeries- not sure what that second charge was. I have called over 10 times and driven back there twice to try to speak to an office manager. They will not let me talk in person and told me to call! They have called me many times to schedule to redo the margins on what they removed and I have explained to everyone of them I'd like to speak to someone about my bill! They had an employee meeting about people being told their office visit was included and were supposed to call me back after that and never did! Someone is telling us incorrect things when we call and make the appointment and come there and they are not willing to make that good! I just called again today and got disconnected when they were trying to connect me to some Chris they said is the office manager! They say somebody will call me back! The office manager has supposedly gotten over a dozen messages between me calling them, them calling me to schedule another appointment and me going in there to call me back and I have never heard back yet. They sent one of my bills to collections! Horrible management at this place! I would definitely not recommend! I have spent hours trying to fix their mistakes! If I ever hear back from them and get this resolved, I will be happy to update this! I was referred to Dr. Ishani Patel by a family friend. I heard and read some good reviews about this doctor. I'm now wondering my experience was so humiliating. Let's start off with the front desk receptionist. I provided her my insurance and she's having problems putting it in. She tells me my insurance is not valid or not working. I assure her it is because I'm paying for it! She tries a couple more times and gives up. I say fine, I'll pay out of pocket because I need this appointment. I sit down to wait for the doctor. I'm called back and my entire appointment went by so fast, I left with so many unanswered questions. I'm not one to bad mouth others but this doctor showed that she could care less about me or my questions. I've dealt with skin issues for years so I had mentioned the word "natural" to the doctor. Wrong word apparently because she came back at me with "well you know poison ivy is natural too...". Really I had no clue?!! That did it for me. Absolutely uncalled for and so unprofessional. This entire appointment felt like I was in a fast food drive through. Quickly checked my skin, rollover, check skin, insult me, toss some free samples at me, refilled my prescriptions, and sent me on my way. Oh and let's not forget that the doctor heard about my insurance and went on about how she's never heard of it blah blah blah. It's united health care insurance.... I go home and my insurance is valid, like I told them. So the receptionist struggles with that part of her job. I call their office because I obviously want my money back. I get connected to a very nice lady who does not work in that office. She apologized profusely for my experience and promised to help with my situation. She calls back the next day and said the office will mail out a check to me. Two weeks go by and nothing. She calls the office again, they'll send it out. It took me over a month to get my money back, after they messed up! If you want to be humiliated and treated like you're in a fast food drive through, this is the place. With no informed consent he injected my wife's lip with kenalog 10, a very powerful steroid that caused her much pain and suffering and now, two years later, she is permanently disfigured. Adding insult to injury, he has refused to help her, barring her from the Pinnacle Dermatology office in Joliet, Il. NBC did an article about a doctor who was fired by Pinnacle for complaining about their 'Get the Money' policy of doing unnecessary procedures. Stay away. read more

The Dr. injected me with a dangerous drug which caused permanent facial disfigurement among other side effects the patient was never informed of. Scheduled an appointment online (difficult to say the least). Received a call that the system allowed the appointment by mistake and the appointment was not going to happen. Called in to reschedule. Read back the appointment information to the individual helping me with setting up the rescheduled appointment. Arrived 10 minutes early day of the appointment. The desk representative states that they texted me yesterday to cancel this Friday 8 am appointment (they absolutely did not). The desk representative was completely apathetic. Did not have the same issues at the Frankfort office. Wasted my time and prolonged receiving medical care. Not very patient centered in my opinion. read more

Had several experiences. One needing a Dr. I got what seemed like a nurse practitioner who was rushed, not personable at all, and her expensive suggestions did nothing for my physical symptom. Secondly, I had a few appointments for skin care. I had a chemical peel which was quite costly. My skin did not flake, much less peel at ALL. I called and was told that not everyone peels. Why did I pay a huge amount of money for a chemical peel if there was no peel and no other change? Something was not right and they just blew it off. My mother is 80 years old. She has received multiple invoices from Pinnacle Dermatology beginning fifteen months after the date of service. She called twice to clarify/dispute the bill, but Pinnacle refused to respond. I am a licensed Illinois attorney. I sent two letters demanding an explanation and requesting that Pinnacle stop sending these invoices to my mother. I also called, waited on hold 40 minutes, gave the representative the account number, and was promptly disconnected. I attempted to fax the letters to the number on the bill, but it was disconnected. All of this conduct, including the lack of any response whatsoever, is extremely suspicious and leads me to believe that Pinnacle's billing practices are false and fraudulent. I want Pinnacle to stop sending these invoices and leave my elderly mother alone. She has enough to worry about in this pandemic. read more

First of all...I am very diligent with my skin and go yearly for a check up. I recently went here for my annual check up and I am done trying with them. I have been reluctantly going here over the past few years because I thought I should stay at the place that I had basil cell carcinoma removed 13 years ago but I just can't go here anymore. Every time I go here I am rushed but Dr Beck seems to find a reason to cut at my skin. The last one was it! I have had the same mole for the last 40 years and it never changed but she insisted I have it removed. It makes me wonder if it is just a reason to charge me for something. I refuse to have skin tags removed there because the charges are outrageous for that procedure. I told her I was going on vacation soon and she said it would be healed but she cut so deep it wasn't healed by then. I showed her that I was having a small break out on my face and she told me it was rosacea and prescribed cream for it. She just looked at it and diagnosed without even touching my face to see for sure. She said that is what happens when you get "older". I ended up getting a second opinion and I don't have rosacea...I had an allergic reaction to a detergent I was using so I spent money on a cream that I don't need. I told the Medical Assistant that I needed to change the Walgreens I usually went to because I moved. I gave her the information and she sent it to the Walgreens by my old house so I had to drive back and get the prescription that I thought I needed but didn't need. I got a call about my results and the medical terminology that was used made me have to look it up. She went on about it and told me I needed a recheck at 6 months. I asked.. Is it something I need to worry about or keep up with and she said no...just make an appointment. I have found a different dermatologist and will never go back here again. I had them do a full check of my skin and she said I was fine. The mole I had removed was identical to one I still have and she said there was no need to cut. She removed a skin tag for free too. read more

The medical assistant and physicians assistant were nice. They were kind, caring and professional and answered all my questions. My problem is with the front office staff. Wasn't greeted. Two were sitting talking amongst themselves. Once I was checking in the receptionist told me that they'd bill me for my copay and I told her I like to pay at the time of service and she told me , no they don't do that. She then handed me a tablet and said to fill out the tablet. Didn't explain anything just handed it to me and seemed bothered by the entire process. read more

I was seen, and within a few minutes I was prescribed a steroid cream that should help with my skin issue. The doctor that saw me even talked up my tattoos. I'm scheduled to be seen in a few weeks. I think service was good. Nice young MDs and nurses. My problem is national billing. Received bill outside insurance for $19.00 which indicated no other payments received. I have check cleared from August for $38.45 for Pinnacle. Small amount of cash but getting answers on this is next to impossible from national Pinnacle billing. They threatened to go to collection on 19 bucks and provided no answers. I paid it because it is not worth my time. I now will use someone not national and out of touch for my healthcare needs. Didn't even get a chance to see the doctor. Front office staff (not in the call center but at the actual Joliet office) I communicated with before the appointment were extremely rude. One individual in particular got frustrated and hung up in my face. I tried to rectify the situation requesting to speak with an office manager but apparently it wasn't a priority as I didn't get a call back. It's a shame how a doctor can lose a patient before even meeting them. I am so over rude staff. Contrary to what they think we as patients don't have to deal with that. There are other healthcare providers available, including those who don't tolerate their front office treating their patients that way. Dr. Burgess spent a total of three minutes with me a new patient -- she barely acknowledged my presence and didn't even bother to ask what medications I had been on or why I was there. In the end, her assistant scribbled the names of three or four over-the-counter brands I could try to help my acne -- didn't even specify which products I should try. They did a horrible job removing my son's mole. They left a really, really big scar. One would think a plastic surgeon could remove a mole and do a much better job. My current doctor referred us again, but Lapinski's office does NOT have Saturday hours. I can't have my son take a day off college this semester, so we are going to find a better place to go, probably Naperville. Is there anything better than good doctors close to home? I am Irish and am cursed with skin that reddens, freckles and is vulnerable to odd rashes and skin cancer. Everyone in my family has had some level of skin cancer including myself. Dr. Lapinki has seen me and my girls through every kind of itchy, bumpy, warty thing we have thrown at her. And she's handled it all with style, grace and professional skills of the highest order. That high level of care is also reflected in her office staff. I have also seen her husband, Dr. Rios for laser treatments to make this blushing Irish gal a bit less rosy cheeked. They are also great about billing. I used to have superb insurance, not any more. I went in with a little laundry list of issues in addition to my annual scan. I was concerned about the cost of one treatment and Dr. Lapinski came up with a lower cost alternative. When I saw her husband, he charged me way less on the second treatment as he didn't think I would need as much as I did the first time. Skilled and compassionate? Makes me glad for all the bumpy, rashy, itchy Irish gifts I have on my skin. Go see them, skin cancer is rampant in this country, they'll check you out. Tell them the slightly less rosy cheeked Irish gal sent you. read more

Dr. Rios was the 5th plastic surgeon I went on a consultation with and I knew immediately that he was "the one" for me. Before I even get into Dr. Rios himself, the office and staff were EXTREMELY helpful, nice and professional. The office was state of the art, clean and quiet. Which seems kind of basic, but trust me- after 5 other consults, I had seen some very strange office setups. I immediately felt comfortable and relaxed in his care. He was very professional yet also very down to earth when talking to me. Compared to other PS that all seemed skeptical of me because I am young, Dr. Rios seemed confident in my ability to pay for and go through with my breast aug. Dr. Rios took the time to answer all of my questions and informed me that I would have to come in for a second consultation with him in order to proceed with my breast aug. I left his office knowing he was going to be the one! My second consult was the best, I was so eager to pick a size and schedule a surgery date. Dr. Rios again displayed professionalism and extreme care and concern for my decision. He instructed me on what size would be best and then let me play around with cc's before I finally decided on 400cc's silicone. He was honest and upfront in telling me that if I go any larger I would risk looking bad and that 400 would be the best for me. I agreed and then went to confirm my surgery date. The day of surgery- my surgery time got pushed back which was sort of upsetting. I was already EXTREMELY nervous and was scared if I had to wait any longer- I would freak out and cancel...luckily I did not [lol]. Dr. Rios came in before my surgery and was again very honest with me, especially when I asked him "if I would die" lol which was one of my biggest concerns... he again, charmed me away from all of my worries and took care of me! I woke up with boobs and was instantly in love with them. That same night I was able to move around freely and shower with very very little restrictions. I was able to fully move around by day 2 and felt no pain at all after a full week. Even after my surgery, Dr. Rios continued to win me over by calling me that same evening to check on me and make sure I was okay. What really won me over was that I ended up having some sort of freak allergic reaction to something that was put in my IV, I broke out into hives all over my back, arms, neck, legs, and feet. Dr. Rios called me all weekend to make sure I was okay and provided me with suggestions to get rid of the allergy. A few days after my surgery, I went in to his office for a follow up visit and again was charmed and wow'ed by Dr. Rios. He even gave me a bouquet of flowers on my follow up visit! Like seriously, how many surgeons do you know that go the extra mile like that for their patients!? I truly fell in love with him as my surgeon and would recommend him to any and everyone considering getting a breast aug in Illinois. Don't go for the expensive surgeons with a lakefront office downtown- stay close to your home and visit someone like Dr. Rios. I am posting such a long and detailed review because prior to my surgery I was scouring the internet for reviews on Dr. Rios- good or bad- and found only 2! Hopefully this review will help other girls out by providing a truthful and detailed review about my experience with Dr. Rios. I love him! read more

Taryn Honeycutt, PA-C was the first medical provider to listen to my concerns about a mole on the back of my arm. Even though it didn't appear to be anything she took action. I was phoned two days later letting me know it was Malignant Melanoma. I then met Dr. Lapinski who fully educated me on what I could expect as a result of my diagnosis. Dr. Rios removed the remainder of the affected area and I was on my way. I enjoyed working with the team at Rios and Lapinski so much that I chose elective surgery with Dr. Rios. Again, a great experience as he took the extra time to educate me on my procedure. Doctors are pleasant but staff, answering phones and attending to customers with questions are very poor! Website would state they are open, then you get there and they are close. Getting an answer regarding your visits on the phone are like trying to find a needle in a haystack!! Not to mention the lady answering calls! Very short and rude with response!! I think they are forgetting, most especially the lady who answers the calls, that there are other dermatologist in the area and if you are not patient or empathetic to your customers, you will lose their business!! And getting your prescriptions filled or addressed in any way are terrible!! Very unsatisfied parent of a customer!!! read more

I would NOT recommend this place. I was seeing Blake Troiani for several months and to be completely honest I feel like I knew more about my condition than he did. With every visit he would come in the room and take a look for maybe 3 seconds tops and tell me my skin is looking better and I would basically be dismissed when I tried to explain that it was in fact getting WORSE!!! This went on for many visits and I kept trying to tell him that it's worse! He always seemed like he was trying to break a record for how fast he can get out of the room. I don't feel as tho I had any real personal time to fully explain my symptoms and what it was doing to me. He would always tell me "this is a difficult condition to treat" and then not really want to hear anything else I had to say. He would tell me to follow up in a few weeks to a month and that was it!!! This is not personal care at all. I was always on time for my visits yet I'd sit in the waiting area for 15-20 mins most of the time but the 1 time I came late I was practically yelled at and scolded and told I can be charged for a missed appointment!! No sympathy, empathy, compassion.... NOTHING! After dealing with no results for such a long time I decided to stop taking every pharmaceutical drug I was on and change my eating habits. While I will admit this is very hard to do I was desperate for something to change and after being off the meds and eating very clean my condition is better in 1 week than it ever was the entire time I was treated there. read more

I have been to Pinnacle like two times and when I had my next skin check scheduled they called and told me that the person I was scheduled with could no longer see me. My insurance would no longer let me see a PAC, I had to see a MD. They had no female MD's in my surrounding area that would take my insurance! There is no way I am going to drive 45 minutes to another one of their offices. I cannot believe the practice as a whole is not all on the same page with accepting certain insurances. I started going to Dr. Lapinski's office years ago, after struggling to find a dermatologist that could help my acne prone skin. Dr. Lapinski and her staff not only listened but understood my concerns and for the first time in 20+ years, put me on the right mix of medications that worked! Having gone through countless dermatologists, aesteticians and products...it seemed I was at a loss. Thanks to Dr. Lapinski and her staff at Dermatology & Plastic Surgery Associates, I was able to regain my confidence and feel comfortable in my own skin again. Over the years, DPSA has become my go to location for any and all things skin related. From facials to the removal of moles and milia, to microdermabrasion and botox...I simply do not trust my skin to anyone else. I also appreciate having an aestetican that is aligned with my dermatologist...it just makes sense. They also sell and use Skinceutical product which has really helped my skin look more youthful...and is one of the best product lines out there. I have gone to both the Joliet and Frankfort locations - both have great staff...although I must admit that I have a favorite and that is Laurel! She has a solution to all of my skin needs and I appreciate how she goes above and beyond to make my skin look great. From an irritating rash around my eyes, to stress induced breakouts to removing those fine lines around my eyes...she has the solution and does great work!! Thank you, Laurel!! There are several med-spas closer to my home, but when it comes to skin care services, I am particular about what goes on or in my face. Also, note that many med spas dilute their product - the offices at Dermatology do not do that, so a botox treatment will last as long as it should - for me, that is typically 4 -5 months. I made an appointment for a procedure which I explained clearly over the phone. Went to the appointment and the PA immediately stated that they do not provide services for said procedure. Spent a total of one minute with PA, who then offered a general skin exam which I refused (didn't need), and was upset that I had taken a day off of work, when they knew from my initial call what I was there for. Mailed bill for $137.00. After half a dozen phone calls to have charges reversed as no services were provided, bill sent for collections and additional fees added. Bill is now $158.91. As a registered nurse myself for 18 years, I have never felt so disappointed and taken advantage of by a fellow health care provider. If this is not resolved soon, I will be filing a report with the Better Business Bureau. read more

Being a fair-skinned redhead I am quite used to having a few "bad" spots, but I have to say, Sami did the most thorough check that I've ever had & caught two really bad spots that I hadn't noticed.
